Yea, I am. Because I cannot find it, no matter which Com Rep response I'm looking at. There's far too many, so I'm hoping that we can get confirmation for it. It is pretty hard digging through countless pages of topics you know, Reika, so to confirm it, I hope other people can also help out.

Ah, I see. Thank you, Reika. At least he hasn't dispelled the possibility of multiple jobs, but....hmm. One to one...this will especially complicate things for DoM. Thank you again, Reika, for finding it.
We aren't going to get BLM in the first wave.
and yet Yoshi-P has concept art for both Black Mage and Dark Knight armors, but not White Mage and Paladin..

Either way, here's to hoping that there will be multiple jobs per class. Bayohne didn't say there wasn't so that possibility still exists.
As Reika said, most likely BLM and WHM will be in the first wave of jobs. I just hope other mage jobs also become available. Right now, our mages are kind of neglected. -crosses fingers-
I agree that they seem like the way XIV would go when presented with the GLA>>PLD specialization, but I'm not seeing the point of mages complaining about anything. I'm pretty sure the rep asked to stave off questions about this since nothing is concrete, but this wild speculation is really helping a lot. It's too bad SE doesn't allow you to rank up both CON and THM :/
The update hasn't even come out yet lol the ratio of negative complaint threads to positive comments is obscene. I can't help but think we'd get more info if everyone didn't make a federal case over things like raises and offered something based on actual evidence without the attitude that SE ripped them off somehow with everything they do.
It would create much animosity toward Yoshi-P (specially from me) if we didn't, since he had to go and make those 2 the first armor sets he showed.

There was an old post that stated which jobs they were planning on implementing. There was Paladin, Monk, Dragoon, White Mage, Black Mage, and Bard(Bard threw a bunch of people off saying "ARC=BRD??") It was weird. Anyone else remember that?

I was highly upset that there wasnt Dark Knight in that list...
They said 'currently'. They never said that the list was ALL the jobs that are going to be in. So no, maths will not workout with so many variables to do with. Differentiating between full and incomplete will be a pain seeing as there is no solid evidence to either one of those options.
Also, would you happen to have the link to that translated article? Having it in quotes will make it seem dubious, knowing rumours and false information that gets circled around, so I would prefer to see the actual source. Thank you, anyhow.

Although the time is unknown, they are planning to have "combined job" which is obtained by two specified class over specified rank. For example, CON + THM = Red Mage.
There just plain needs to be more than 7 jobs
Gladiator -> Paladin
Pugilist -> Monk
Marauder -> Warrior?
Archer -> Bard??
Lancer -> Dragoon (Which is Dragon Knight in short)
Conj -> WHM?
Thaum -> BLM?!

since there would be many ??'s to some, a 2-1 system for some jobs would be even better, and make more sense, and be like tactics, which was fun.
Red Mage = Gld/Conj
Dark Knight = Gld/Thm or Mrd/Thm (btw.. Greatswords SE......)
and some other combinations for jobs i forgot or dont know down the line. but some need to be there NAO. Like Dark Knight...
They just cant release Paladin without its counterpart.. So IMO the jobs we SHOULD see at the beginning are WHM, BLM, PLD, DRK, WAR, RNG, DRG, MNK.
Who knows what makes more sense in Yoshi's world.
To me, the only thing that remains up in the air is who the heck becomes BRD and if it isn't ARC, what job do they get? All the rest seem easily placed, more so now that the CON only raise spells have been announced.
Of course, nothing is certain until we see it live, but based on what has information has been given by the devs and reps in these forums and magazine interviews the writing is on the wall.

Marauder -> Warrior and Fighter
Archer -> Ranger and Bard
Lancer -> Dragoon and Soldier
Conjurer -> White Mage and Black Mage
Thaumaturge -> Time Mage and Arcane Mage
Bard would get it's own class they did not say which class get MRD or Archer it make no sense for Archer to get bard. it should get it own class and seeing how 20.0 coming around the 1year of ffxiv it seem right to add a new class/job
OH you just reminded me that there is an archanist guild in limsa, that is plainly unused now... perhaps that will be the proper direction for Thaumaturge, since arcane arts dont really deal with the elements (thaum attacks). and Astral and Umbral also represent time in Eorzia, so Time Mage would be a viable job for Thaum as well.
I honestly don't think they should bother adding new classes down the road, just jobs to unlock by meeting certain conditions.
Bard - job, Musketeer - Job, Samurai - Job.
Tho making some of them classes would require you to actually level them up, considering their current plans to have jobs be level-less, which would be stupid as well.
In regards to the original topic of this thread, it seems pretty clear to me that Thaumaturges should get the most powerful raising spells because they worship the god Nald, the Imbuer of Life.
In regards to Class-to-Job assignments, I wish as most everyone else does, that the ratio was not 1-to-1. It makes having a number of jobs that the community wants virtually impossible.
Hopefully, with enough support from the community we can change the Development Team's mind on both these issues.
Reika, data-mining (I think) have shown Arcanist and Musketeer to be classes. So I don't think they'll be classes; especially since they both have guilds located in Limsa Lominsa.
I've always thought Arcanist to be more the alchemist class, the mixing of items or using goods for attacks, being more the physical type of magic damage. (Yes, doesn't make sense, I know). The name was always a bit weird to me, seeing as THM dealed more with the arcane side of magic. The job for Arcanist would probably be Illusionist, but yet again, speculation. Musketeer can easily have it's own job, Sniper or some other job that involves guns.
Not a bad thought, Reika. I always termed the THM class the arcane and time warping mage class, so I can see where you went with Arcanist.

Perhaps THM will have its equal skills of healing, similar to CON as well, but SE just haven't confirmed it or released it to the public. A bad move on their part, if it was true, but we can't assume that THM doesn't get any superior resurrecting skills much like CON has. Perhaps other ones like Revive, or Resurrect II....we can't rule out that possibility.
True that. But seeing as an Arcanist has already been wandering in our midst, I don't think they'll change the status of it from being a class to a job. Besides, if Arcanist and Musketeer do become jobs, it would be pretty unfair for the other jobs since they'll be the only ones with guilds, unless SE can somehow create extra guilds around the city-states for the jobs.

In which case we'll most likely have to wait till the expansion to get to the guilds. T^T But even so, that wouldn't make a difference to Arcanist or Musketeer unless they abandon Limsa Lominsa to go to Ishgard. So I think they'll remain as classes.
classes we will have to wait for the next expansion to get as well, the way they are going. they should have been avaliable classes from the very beginning if they were going to make them classes... as Limsa is the only place with one combat guild right now.
Limsa is the only one with 2 guilds that appear to do nothing as well. Yea, they should have put them as available classes from the start....but since the data is already in, it would be relatively easier to shuffle in those two classes than whatnot. If they do come with expansion...well, that's something to look forward to in terms of more leveling and skills. If not, and it comes before, that's an added bonus to us. Either way, they will implement them sooner or later, especially since the two guilds have been used in storyline quests as well in the Limsa Lominsa story-side.

No, I'm kidding... people would get insanely upset... But really, with only 2 mages, one is probably going to go Black Mage (we know we have seen the armor for it a while back), and the other WHM (because it would just kind of make sense). I think in order to do this, you really need to just redo the mage classes. CON has attributes of WHM and BLM, and THM has some secondary attributes of both, but lacks the main attributes of both (it would make an odd WHM given the lack of Cure, Shell, Protect, Raise... and an odd BLM given the lack of elemental magics, ancient magic...).
TLDR: Just redo the mages.
