Yet it works for Leves, and in 1.0 you could do leves as a party even. Mobs are locked to the ppl that initiate it. PVE works just fine in any MMO as long as it is properly implemented. Same for PVP. Regardless of instance or open world.

I didn't read through all the posts so I'm not sure if was mentioned.
Having switched from a highly populated Legacy Server it was a surprise to the high que times for DF on other worlds.
Maybe it would be good to increase the number of worlds linked through DF. Especially among low population servers.
Not all worlds are connected. Duty Finder is segregated by Data cluster - e.g Chaos, Primal, etc.
Worlds are grouped.
Ragnarok players will, for example, never interact with anyone from the Excalibur server because they're not in the same grouping.
Legacy Campaign and Legacy status are a reduced subscription and vanity item, but Legacy Servers contain characters with data transferred from 1.0 - recently they removed the server transfer restrictions allowing people that transferred 1.0 to enter the new servers (those that launched with ARR).
Duty Finder being slow or fast is dependent upon peak hours. If the majority of your server is NA and EST you'll likely see people on during a certain time frame - this extends to their PF/DF activity. If you are NA but playing in a EU designation (Chaos World Group, Ragnarok etc.) you will notice that the population and peak hours are going to be at more problematic times for you - this would also be apparent when using the Duty Roulette or Duty Finder.
This forum is no where near to being an accurate depiction of what the playerbase thinks.
Tough fights in the open world should be implemented by using pop items or systems like leves. But some people are only happy with systems where they can waste someone elses time.
I agree with this thread. A lot of the things he wrote about will help the games future out. People have the right to complain about things they want to be fixed. I don't care if it bugs the Producer of the game. Everyone has to Pay almost 15 dollars a month to play this game, so I have no sympathy for him. If he wants his game to last he has to fix the things that bug most of the players. Even if the producer is a nice guy. We still are paying to play the game, so we are entitled to make suggestions that will help the game out in the long run. That is how it is.
No he wants it to be 1.0, but instead of being bad just expand on it. Instanced MMOs suck. OPENWORLD2014
But anyways I don't know how Open world(not instanced based zones) will ruin the games. Perhaps Openworld it like 1.0, and add more NM's, and dangerous monsters. To make travel fun and engaging.
yea ur right. there are people that like the game as is. And there are some bad suggestions. But most of the ones I have read are actually really good. I only come on now just to do coil and after its done. I go play something else. That's because now I have to wait a whole week to do it again. People don't like the idea of having turn1-5 farmable but I think its a great idea. now that the new turns are coming. Some people hate the farm idea because they do not want people to catch up to them. Seems kind of selfish. Lets say someone has the best gear they can get and now they only come on maybe once a week. Now someone else wants to catch up to them but no matter how much time they put in they never will.
I like this game as is and don't want any crazy changes that OP is suggesting. I'm considered the general population because I haven't downed Turn 5 yet or EX Primals so no the content is fine where it's at for now but by the time the 1st expansion rolls out I'll be expecting something big.
I have not even reached endgame, turn five, primals, etc and I am somewhat bored with the direction of the game. I cannot bring myself to lvl past 36 DoW; :(
Crafting and DoL is pretty neat though.
woah didnt complete any extremes... wait a min.. you got a Garuda Ring of Fending so thats a lie?...
The content been out almost 3 months now and its pretty much the only content thats repeatable thats out thats worth doing. It only takes 40mins to clear all 3 primals and your on smn it cant be that hard. Try Blm.
Also why are you wearing Garuda Ring of Fending on SMN..? Bypass item level check or either dont know that INT is your main stat as smn.
I can't undestand people who complain that ARR patches are always the same. Even if we have ony 1 behind us and only 1 before us.
Now, here are the endgame highlights from the 1.0 patches, beginning with 1.18 (before 1.18 endgame was mostly leves)
1.18 2 dungeons (Dzemael and Toto-Rak)
1.19 boss fight (Ifrit)
1.20 boss fight (Moogle King)
1.21 2 dungeons (Aurun Vale and Cutters Cry)
1.22 boss fight (Garuda)
1.23 boss fight (Nael van Darnus)
I'm sure, if there was a 1.24 planned there would have been 2 dungeons in it. And 1.23 was still good, what people say here. And not only because Nael, but because the total content from all the other patches. Even if Garuda weapon was better than Ifrit and Moogle weapon and Cutters Cry + Aurun Vale "common" gear better than the gear from Dzemael.

Hmm 27 replies vs 102 replies (this thread) only maybe less than a day apart let see who wins.
Speaking of time I keep seeing posts about people not having "time" anymore to play? Confusing as such then they state that they play 6+ hours a day and like the progression/direction the game is going in. Because they can just que, run a dungeon and feel accomplished. Sounds exactly why ARR is a lazy hand me gear Candy land as it is today.
Edit**- Looks like this thread won SE closed the other one lol.
FFXIV Patch 2.1 Press Interviews with Yoshida
Original interview here: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201312/04044251.html
Yoshida: For a lot of players who are just starting with the new FFXIV, they're going to be more interested in the current state of the game than comparisons to the old FFXIV. There's been a trend with a lot of threads comparing the game to old FFXIV, so we're looking at changing up the way the forum is setup so that these new players don't get discouraged.
Not to be negatiive but SE only in mind set of picking up the pieces if there in a crisis. FF1, FF7, FF14 ARR and probably few others. Sure the game will cater to either side better where its more suited for. 1.0 is a good example of this. Alot of people left and only around 50k~ were playing 1.0~1.23 mainly only hardcore people cus no casual could handle it. If ARR starts releasing more and more unicorns and mounts and tons of vanity for people that want to play dress up thats fine if but your gonna end up losing hardcore players aswell. I just want this game to take a direction of what it wants to be then I can either deside to contune playing or go to another game.
The thing was, the patch release schedule for 1.0 was about the same as these have been and the content amount was about the same:
1.18 - July 2011
1.19 - October 2011
1.20 - December 2011
1.21 - March 2012
1.22 - May 2012
1.23 - August 2012
(So 3 months, 2 months, 3 months, 2 months, 3 months.) The 3 month patches were large updates that included new dungeons and bosses, the 2 month patches were mainly fixes to the game and a handful of quests + one boss battle.
I thought it is about instanced endgame content people do to get better, not level 50 content people do to have fun (yes, hamlet defense was fun, if you did it as a DoL) without getting better?
As example from your list, faction leves, NMs, Strongholds (beastmen and Castrum) and Chocobo Escort were not here to make your character better. People did them to have some fun.
And AF quest were part of the job quests. You needed to do them to get the last 2 jobskills, even if the AF gear was only lv50 starter gear until you had your dungeon gear + overmelded crafted gear (for monk as example every gear that gave you the most str and int). Sure, they also were fun to do.
In FC house?? o_O Really? USELESS ...Quote:
http://img.finalfantasyxiv.com/t/18d...942cb4fd_2.pngPlayers will have access to crafting facilities in their estates. With eight types in total, these facilities can be used by crafters level 40 or below to increase their CP for a fixed period of time.
I think Yoshi-P should introduce another round of polling and put it in game also so when players log in a menu opens up on their screen asking to take the poll. Because honestly just putting it on forums isn't getting everyone real input.
Yoshida revealed that he wouldn’t let people program on ARR until systems were completed, and programmers that weren’t building familiarized themselves with the design. Training the company’s staff was important because the developers didn’t have MMO experience. A plan was drafted and a workflow created to bring Final Fantasy XIV to A Realm Reborn, and all the while, the team, faced with harsh reviews, kept updating the original game for fans that believed in the rebuild.- Yea I was one who believed but was let down with false hopes.

Seems like they went backwards with stale innovation.
I am not sure XIV is about diversity; it is pretty much hack and slash.
The players on these forums have shared some great ideas pertaining to XIV, sadly, I feel XIV is what it is. I mean, they had years to work on it; if SE wanted to implement this stuff, they would have done so pre-release. Best bet is a XI remake/HD with updated graphics, etc. I am not sure they would do this either, but XIV is what it is and I do not believe the expansion will change the general direction of the game. just my opinion.
