Actually at this point yes delay CT and or the patch 1 more week and get it in properly allow FC to do what FC want to do. Many have a distaste for Duty Finder and have from the getgo this is just more SE crap on not listening to a vast majority of there playerbase. Need I remind people of the roaming HNM/Open world topic they so diligently swept under the rug.

But seriously, this is potentially a disappointment. Even with gear checks pugging Coil is a... pain.
However my main fear now is that this raid isn't going to have any fun and difficult mechanics due to the emphasis on pugging. Instead I get the feeling that the complexity of the raid mechanics will be at the same level as CM, don't get me wrong I enjoyed CM, but it's not the kind of thing I would want to do over and over again for ilvl 80 gear.
I want the challenge to be in the fight, not in the managing of 16 loose cannons.

All that being said however, I haven't tried the content and maybe what Yoshi said wasn't clear, or we severely misinterpreted it. Coil offered some interesting fights so I know SE has the capability to make CT fun. I tend to look at things from a negative perspective so hopefully my gut feeling is wrong :)

Here's what I will do: queue up for with 3 parties from my FC at same time. If we get in, good. If not then we leave, eat the penalty and do extreme primal for fun.

The only ones that will actually lose time now will be the the pugs that I dodged, which in turn will go on the forum to rage about how broken the duty finder is, which in turn will convince the dev team to remove CT from DF. If that happen, then more FC and community interaction for every server!

Win-win for everyone in the long run.

An MMO is about being part of a world. Taking on adventures with people etc. At no point does it mean taking on adventures with only people in your specific group.
I remember many times in other games i grouped with strangers to take on end game content. FFXI for instance, i used to join up with 2 other linkshells to do Dynamis.
In WoW i have joined up with other guilds to raid Stormwind in PVP. So what was your point again?

The funny thing is? It should be reversed, but that is why they delayed CT as is, to make it DFable so what better way than make it ONLY possible with random DF people and not premade like every other activity in this game currently? In 2.2 there will definitely be zero reason to do it with a premade group unless they update CT then since 2.2 is a major patch which means 3 months after 2.1 lands which 2.2 as we know is a coil update. So 4-5 months from now it'll be virtually useless to go into with your FC.

This is the most disapointing news I have seen since this game launched. I didn't make an FC so I could play with a bunch of pugs. Please change this so we can all

Joining a pug will not do that at all. IN XI yes in earlier days we did that too before we had enough people to run it with just our guild. But you know what it was a group, we did it every week twice a week.

THAT IS WHAT WE WANT. We do not want to be forced to party with complete strangers, we want to option to form groups with friends. Form allys with people we see everyday. Play with people we know. If I get put in a party with players from Excalabur or another server guess what I will probably never get to play with them again in que or at least very rare chance. This will do nothing to better the community.

Such a bummer :( We were really looking forward to doing CT as a FC because we're always all split up doing different things it was something that we could do together. /sigh

I ~totally~ understand making it DFable for people who aren't able to find enough people to enter or their schedules don't match up with their FC etc... but not having the option to take a premade alliance... I'd be willing to wait for 2.1 personally for this to be possible. But that's just me.

Or you and other FC's who *can* muster 24 people for CT can just not do it until they add the additional premade capacity, So that people like me, in a smaller FC, can still enjoy the content.

You seem to be forgetting that you need a premade 8 to queue (if i understood the Letter correctly), which means the only other people in there will also be in premade groups using voice comms or properly communicating via party chat.
AFAIK, its not going to be possible to just queue up and get 23 random players mashed together and thrown in.

And with the Item Level restrictions in place on the Duty Finder, it will be Impossible to have a party in there that is 'undergeared', you will only get people in correct gear for the Dungeon, or people that are overgeared for the Dungeon.

Change your ways Square Enix, let a full 24man FC run what meager end game scraps you've thrown us for 2.1

This is really good for my FC that is small and doesn't have enough people to fill a second coil group. However, If I prepared my FC having 24 people ready to do CT once it came out I would be mad too.

I know some runs will be bad or good depending on who we get matched with, this is interesting to me.

The thing is though the 2 Linkshells were 2 different ones each time lol. It was basically like a PUG. We did eventually end up with a stable setup but it was PUG setup for months and it worked well. I do understand everyone's complaint. It should be an option but it probably wont be as bad as everyone fears... I hope :D

Considering he said the instance was made clearable with people in their AF armor, and that most people playing will be in a mix of AK & DL at minimum, I doubt it will prove much of a challenge to complete anyhow. The iLVL 80 stuff should make the rest of endgame a tiny bit more approachable. Hopefully it isn't fugly as all hell.

No idea why we shouldn't be able to fill out an alliance with friends.

This is an incredibly bad decision.

Doesn't matter geared or undergeared. The whole point of most FC with 24 or more members right now is to prepare for crystal tower and to play with man of the people we know, not to be forced to split up and go play with strangers.

You can give me a whole alliance with decked out myth/allagan/relic+1, but I'd rather pass to play with undergeared FC members. Again, people just wants to play with their friends, and gear check is not the main concern in this issue.

The full fc-raid feature will be at 2.2 no problem - I wanted Vanity slots at 2.1 too but what can ya do.

But it seems that helping weaker players out is just a no-no

I think it'll be interesting , you need all teams to succeed to proceed - egoism will get you nowhere xD

It's not a phobia to play new or unknown people, it's a desire to play with a large group of our friends. Something that we have been looking forward to about CT and has been pulled out from under us (for now)

You can say the same for the people who don't have enough friends to do 24 man content. Using your own logic, I can ask: Why do these people have such a phobia to go out and make friends? Why do they have to rely on duty finder to find friends for them?

Also if the point of an MMORPG isn't to play with my friends and guildmates then please drive that through my thick skull so I can disband my FC and unsub already.

2 scenarios that stick out immediately.

1) Group A- FC group. plays well together. knows each others strengths/weaknesses. run their section of the raid.
Group B- same as A
Group C- random DF mess. people rage quitting, trolling, etc.
with this setup, group A & B do their part for the raid and hit a road block waiting on group C to get its act together, find new party members, stop arguing, etc. so they can hit that switch to allow the progression of the other 2 groups. this will cause FC groups to eventually do...

2) 24 FC members try to enter the Q at the same time. enter. realize some are paired w strangers. someone takes the penalty and quits. so what you end up w at the end is 24 strangers running the entire thing. if the content ends up being like everything else but just split into 3 groups, this scares me even more. in every fight there seems to be very little wiggle room when it comes to 1 weak link. imagine how many weak links will occur w 24 strangers...

This is the worst idea ever!

We want to play with ou friends! Thats why FC exists!

If it stay this way, we will just queue up an leave until our 3 PT are finally together in the CT.

Why because he wants to play with his guild and not random bots or people that dont pay attention I cant blame him because its hard enough getting 8 people to listen in CM Prae etc. with 24 it is going to be crazy.

Our FC was talking about arranging for Server First or even World First on CT (not that it really means much, when you're organizing teams that have most of BC on farm to do CT...) and then this hit us. :3

Not being able to arrange a full FC raid is just...sad...I suppose Square Enix wanted premades to mix in with solo queuers to average out the alliance standards.

CT should be full FC! Thats why FC exists anyway, to play with your friends!

Have you been through the duty finder lately? Its a nightmare! I dont want to be forced to play with 16 unknown people. Pugs are vile, I cant communicate with them on voice chat and what happens when kiddies rage and quit? Or play stupid just for some trolling fun? Can you imagine the fights over gear? Its a nightmare. Games like WoW give you the option to do this, but you aren't forced to pug with randoms if you don't want. And that's the main point. SE is FORCING us to random pug it. i wonder if that is a wise decission to make.
since there is a penalty awaiting you for leaving.

i'd just take CT for what it is and enjoy it, no matter if full FC alliance or not.

yea, SE could have done a better job, but look at it from a point of CT being part of the DF.
this way it's easier for the DF server to grab players.
if everyone is going with their FC alot of the less fortunate players will be left out needing to wait for the DF to build groups forever.

just look at how long it takes to build just one group using the DF, now imagine 3 groups.

I'm personally not in a FC that can field a whole alliance for CT, but I'm still disappointed that whatever 8 man group I end up with is going to be matched up with 16 other completely random people. There are other people on my own local server I'd rather group with than some of the asshats I've heard about afk'ing in CM and stuff.
