new players screwed?

Why will no one be running low level dungeons? I see people doing it all the time for other jobs and gear for other jobs. Fates are the only way to level a second job, they aren't going to be empty for a good while, and even so, they scale to the amount of players, so you can easily duo or even solo low level fates. How do you think low levels did it before in any other game thats been out a while? Every MMO is the same in the end, and every new player does just fine, no matter how long the game has been out. My only complaint with the fate system is it doesnt allow people to learn the job properly. Even I had to talk to a smn friend after I hit 40 to make sure I was playing right, people just spam one button in fates, you dont learn correctly. Its bad.

OP, there is plenty of things you can do. You can queue up with him and make it easier to do the dungeon. Yes, you don't really get rewards, but if you do get some loot you can turn it in to your GC for seals. I'm thinking you don't even have to take out your soul stone either. You just won't be able to use the abilities above that level. Pretty sure I queued up on accident and ran through it as a WHM.

This is why Free Companies and LinkShells exist, and why it's a good idea to join one (esp. Free Company).

That said, dungeon XP is better now than it was at launch and unless players are laser focused on a single class and grinding end-game - which sadly a lot are - dungeons are now a viable source of leveling - especially on alt classes.

There are players who will run any dungeon with anyone for the heck of it, but unfortunately they are rarer than the laser focused end-gamers.

Um, actually, I don't think FATE scale on the number of players. I've never seen a FATE scale to the number of players, not once. Since player can join any time, the FATE is the same when initiated as it is when someone joins 10 minutes in.

The duty finder works across several servers. It doesn't matter if you're on a legacy world or not- there are several worlds in each duty finder group.

That could really work. Also, thank you for being one of the few to offer a solution to help players find a linkshell and that like. It is extremely easy for people to go "Make friends, find a free company, find a linkshell" when the game hasn't been out long right now. Having played multiple MMOs, usually the shots in towns die down quite a bit once the game has been out a bit, or a new "major city" is the hub to be at.

A lot of free companies may also stop accepting new players entirely. So, helping players to find friends and the people willing to help (like through what you suggested) is really the sort of thing that I feel would benefit the game. If you leave players to fend for themselves you just end up with what I and another ran into in FFXI. Which is a community that seems to hate new players.

had queue on my cnj about a month ago was out doing my hunting log which was way below my level at the time so no companion choco. well traveled all over the world clear the 3 levels of hunting log completely and realized the queue still had not come up that was 5 1/2 hrs after i'd queued. so nope cnj is not a sure queue and 4 hr queues do exist.

He shouldn't be forced to level another class to be able to get into a queue. Sure, you can shout for party members, but what if there still isn't anyone willing to do the dungeon?
