Wound up? I'm not wound up, I just call 'em like I see 'em! And I do so as verbosely as possible!
Because YOU specifically did exactly what he was complaining about.
What the hell man, no one here is talking about pick up groups. Can you even read one post in a thread before replying or are you driven by some compulsion to jump at every opportunity to be rude?
Ummm DUHHH or "DERP" or whatever the hell you kids say these days, everyone knows it is supposed to be difficult and not able to be beaten with a random group. That is not the point of this thread, the point of this thread is static groups.
Most of us who were born before 1995 and played MMORPG's have experience doing so in endgame groups which were not simple statics but communities of various people we play with (some who we have known for years). That is the issue, we want to play with all of our friends not just a static of 7 others.
Could you point out where I mentioned pick-up groups? I'm actually agreeing with you, you dimwit: "That said, it would be nice if you would be able to run it twice, or thrice, to help others progress."
A very primal reaction to stimuli you interpret as negative. Try being less emotional please.
You also said "that's the point of endgame content" and that there was "no MMORPG where this was possible" implying that you are a teenager and thus have no recollection of how ALL endgame content worked in ALL MMORPG's prior to when WoW introduced this very specific system like what? 2 years ago or less?
Static groups, and preformed groups of people who are equally capable are not the same thing buddy. Most endgame communities have more than 8 people capable of downing the same content at one time.
It has nothing to do with SKILL, it has nothing to do with time invested.
These are arbitrary restrictions that Square Enix places on this specific dungeon which literally prevents non-static based farming or progression assistance, and otherwise heavily penalizes people for wanting to play outside of a strict static of 7 other people per week (at least).
Murugan, again. Relax, control your emotions. You should already have learned that at your age.
And no, WoW didn't introduce this system 2 years ago. When you enter a raid and make your first kill, you're locked into that raid with that specific group. Others can join, but they will start where you and your group left off. You can join others, provided your raid ID is the same. You can not run the same raid multiple times and that has always been the case.
Get your facts straight grandpa.
I don't see anything wrong in requiring a static. Even FFXI requires a static for some things if you want to be succesful unless you have people with you that automatically are able to coordinate with each other after few minutes.
And considering that Labyrinth of Bahamut resets after each week I don't see how you could win it changing group everyday.
Just one thing I'm wondering about for BCoB...
Do you have to start from Turn 1 after every reset, or does it only reset progress within the Turn you're currently trying to beat?
Personally I see no problem at all with being locked to a static group for one week, IF indeed that is how it works.
Turn 1 each time
I both support it and don't at the same time.
I see the benefits of being in a static group, knowing who you are playing with etc.
However if you can't find a group of decent people to play with at the same time zones (EU here) then content like this actually works against you.
One thing I will say is that I am glad its not Duty Finder cause the past Titan HM experiences I have had have left me completely bitter with that, not because of bad players but because of bad attitudes.
