The pressure to skip cut-scenes!

No, just no. A person is not rude if they are watching it for the first time. The others are only in self-imposed hurries, there is no etiquette there except to actually allow the first-timer to experience the story fresh. It's the seven who are being rude in that case if they can't wait the extra bit of time, not the one person simply because s/he is the only one. Honestly, though, I somehow doubt it will be seven who are being impatient, but just one or two who are vocally impatient and 5 others who couldn't care less and simply don't say anything--which leads the 2 to believe everyone is irritated.

People queue for story dungeons and are surprised that people... watch story cutscenes?

How dare they watch them, this is an outrage!

Yes it does go both ways. You might not always group with a first timer however and then you can rush all you like. If you are put with someone who is doing it for their story I think the respectable thing to do is to just suck it up and let them enjoy their game.

Why are you calling them rude? If one person watching a cutscene ruins your fun then you have bigger problems than waiting a couple of extra minutes while PLAYING A GAME !!!!!!!!

When you get older you will realize it's the journey not the destination that's important.

I'm playing a tank so they can whine all they want they are gonna have to wait. If i was playing dps i'd tell em to quit whining and either wait or go on without me and i'll catch up.

When I go through the story for the first time, I want to see the CS as my character makes his progress during his journey, NOT "re-living" the past.

Not all cutscenes are available to view at the inn room. But why anyone would want to sit through the dungeon cutscenes every single time is beyond me.

I did not buy a Final Fantasy game to skip the story. "Watch them on YouTube" Pretty sure my character wont feature in any videos on YouTube. I do not wish to view these scenes in crappy YouTube quality either.

Just keep in mind that you are playing a game, which you should enjoy to the fullest at your own pace. Once the group enters the dungeon, they can see which of the party members is currently watching a cutscene. They should have the courtesy to wait a minute or two until everyone is ready to go. If not to let the party members in question watch the cutscene in peace, then to at least ask them if this is their first time in the dungeon and give a run-down on the dungeon so that people know what to expect.

There is plenty of time to finish the dungeon and waiting for a minute or 2 doesn't hurt anybody. A regular introduction cutscene of a dungeon takes less then 30 seconds.

Battles like the primal battles do not start until you attack them or get into aggro range. A dungeon doesn't start until everyone has finished watching the cutscene.

Not really if the person watching has NEVER seen it before. Why people want to get to 50 in a week I'll never understand. My first raid at lv15 I did pretty good, capping the cages at the end n stuff and someone said use your limit break, I didn't know what that was yet and wow, getting grief in the first run took some of the fun out thx to db's.
