They explained a long time ago that it will take months to process all of the save data. That is why they have to do it now. The sooner they start, the sooner they finish and the sooner we can play ARR.

No no no and no.

Alpha was meant to start already - it hasnt. Even if Beta was going on right now it is done when it is done.

It will take ~ 1 month to transfer all data, they could even script the servers after the first update to modify the files after you logoff (may slow the servers down a little but speaking that population is so slow Id wager they have the power to do it now). To keep both files up to date.

The only way it makes sense for them to close servers now is if they dont have the server power to run a minor alpha server and the major player servers (which they could temporarily merge). Or if they are way ahead of schedule (which it appears they are behind schedule).

No one can join the game now, stop your bitching of snowflake crap that will surely be on the internet anyways - everyone will get to see it.

No No No. Alpha was not meant to start already. It was meant to start "Around the end of October." There are still 8 more days in October, and even if they're a few days late, it's "close enough" for me.

Crap doesn't always go as planned, but that doesn't mean they can't start processing the save data. The people organzing the beta test and the people processing the save data are most likely not the same people.

You'll still be able to play 1.0 for a while longer if you love it so much. But it won't "count' towards ARR. Frankly, the sooner they close the servers the better- the sooner we can forget 1.0 and move on to something better. You had PLENNNNTY of time to accomplish goals. You have no valid complaint.

As far as I can tell you're just looking for every excuse you can to rage at SE for something. Unless you work at SE and you're in their offices, you don't know exactly what's going on there. They obviously have reasons for the current timetable, and it is highly unlikely that one of those reasons is "HAHA, which of these suckers can we screw over today!?"

Regardless of whether you THINK they need to do the save maintenance now, you knew well in advance that it was happening.

Definitely - but they should be transferring data already and updating pieces over time instead of just trashing the whole server. Having a complete down time isn't good for them as it gives us time to play other games.

Yep, ~ a month. (Around a month, about a month). That means there is a +/- of time. If it takes 3 months then it isnt, if it takes 1.5 months then it is.

I would like to continue playing your bullshit "you have no valid complaint" is annoying. I have whatever I want to be valid as they are my feelings. I want to continue playing at least till beta starts.
