Petition: for Imperial Invasion event

its a bad event, and sadly its one of those things that gets less and less interest in it as it goes on. Less people wanna do it because they have what they want. I have the tricorne and have said screw that event, im never going back because of its piss poor design. IF I have legit group trying to do it, others try to mpk by getting hate and leashing h1 back to respawn zone. The event is a poorly designed mess, I my sympathies to anyone who is still stuck doing it.

I am by no means a hardcore player and I dont have a million hours to invest but I have spent several hours a night for over a week and no drop.. so even though I am putting the time into it, its possible I wont get it before the servers shut down.. Im all for challenge but "luck" playing as a factor doesnt pan out.. sorry... they need to change it so that everyone can get the chance to get these items before they are gone..

It is possible to do with just one party. I spent at less 2 hours with a full party. We got one drop which fell in my inventory, then of course I had to pass it. :-p

There "should" be some work involved, but I do not believe it is overtly taxing considering the 4 hour time frame.

It's easy with 5 people though (in AF). Find the edge of leash point, PLD leash, 3 BLM nuke, 1 WHM behind them curing.

Please for the love of all that is holy do not make this any easier than it already is.

Have a gatherer farm in Iron Lake or Dragonhead, and you will always have someone with their eyes and ears on spawn times.

I pull on mnk with stoneskin up and fists of wind and never die during a pull. Shoulder tackle can stun just before the rubberband point long enough for a full pt to burn one target down easily. 15 hats in 4 days. The biggest problem is people whining about not having a hat and then they go silent in LS when you find out spawn time.

edit: how is this too hard now if it spawns every 4-6 hrs these days? Have not had any competition all week.

It just takes too long because of the low drop rate. It's not fun after a while.

After killing it for hours, you've already proven that you can kill the mobs; after that it's just a massive time dump attempting to get an item that won't drop because RNG says no. There's nothing fun about that, there's nothing challenging about that, it's just a massive waste of time because SE decided to set the drop rate so low.

No I don't.

The vicious circle you describe works both ways. If you make drops easier or a token system where people can collect so many and trade for a hat the same thing applies. People will get drops sooner, less people will do the event. Others will still not get a drop from lack of people doing the event.

I have also spent a LOT of time over the weeks on this event and only just got one of the hats the other day. Your time will come.

It's better if noone else is doing it. It means you have mobs all to yourself.

I recognise and acknowledge that people are getting frustrated. This however is not a new thing, drops have been this way since XI started. It's a Final Fantasy staple.

Think we are missing some of the key issues with this community event. (We had them in some previous posts)

Its not a community event. The whole claiming system is outdated, while it still does its job for singular non important mobs. When making a community event you really cant be using that system, its competitive by nature and demotes community and teamwork outside of your given party.

While we all want FFXIV to have its own spunk - taking a look at how GW2 does some of its events wouldn't be a waste of their time. Its all very smart, that you can do it with a few but it ranks up in difficulty with more people - meaning you are never screwed out of content for one reason or another (too easy/hard, or the community is a cesspol).

Promoting server teamwork will promote a better community, right now SE does not promote community.


The low drop rates I believe they will address in 2.0 into a more logical "everyone works the same" for it system, which is good. I also believe they tried to listen to the communities feed back and thats why Atomos dropped a stone (a hot fix to let players work together).

So I think SE is listening to us, but they dont have the resources to spare on this particular event or version (1.0). (Doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about it, we need to be transparent in whats going on with us as we are their market and it helps them know what we are thinking).

Perhaps the best thing we can ask for is for these items to be available in 2.0 where we will have our proper fixes. (And to continue to push SE for better community devised systems and fair loot drops).

Until we have the list of items discontinued we don't even know if these items will or will not be available in 2.0 in the first place, perhaps they will be so there is little to worry now anyways. They should really get that list going lol.

Lol sorry but our ls does not consider this to be an event its just something we do to pass the time between our events. This can be done with Pug Groups without a problem. And you don't even need a full group if your chaining the mobs.

What the hell is wrong with you masochistic people? This event is ridiculous, my linkshell and I went and killed 7 sets of the elites + H1 and got absolutely nothing today. We did 5 yesterday and got the same result. For a short term event this is a piss poor drop rate.

For those saying its not fair to people who already got it, who honestly gives a shit. You got the RNG gods to help you out and got a drop. This isn't darklight or triple melds we're dealing with here and should not be subject to the same shit you have to put up with in AV/CC/whatever.

At the very least each set should guarantee at least 1 hat. I wonder what the hell is wrong with you people defending this asinine game design. There's something to be said for challenging content. There is not however, something to be said about wasting your time. There is nothing worse than devoting 3 hours of your time and turning up with absolutely nothing and being in the same position that you were when you started with 0 progress. You people are exactly the type SE should not be listening too when developing 2.0.

Currently the mobs seem to be spawning much faster than they did at the beginning of the event. On my server they are frequently unclaimed leaving me to believe people got sick and tired of wasting there time much like some of the people I know. They are easy to exploit and kill and currently there does not seem to be much competition for the mobs. It just takes a while to kill them using the leashing method.
