Actually, Ketenramm had face 2 in any flashbacks he was featured in. So technically, he's just what an old Roegadyn would look like.

Gosetsu, though...

I mean, Gosetsu's pretty old, too. According to Encyclopedia Eorzea 2, he fought in the first Garlean invasion of Doma 25 years ago, and was already a close advisor to the king then, so he must've been at least in his thirties already.

Him staying alive wasn't even the problem, it would have been a massive waste of character. We finally found him only to be cut down unceremoniously? We already got Moenbryda to speedrun her death
But amthen we find him alive in a lame fake death following by saying that he was "knocked down". It felt like 2 scripts merged together, either have him already dead or work something better.

Nah, being killed off is an honor in FFXIV at this point. You either die a hero or live long enough to become a Scion.
