YPYT is still an issue that exists...? Sorry, Tank main/hermit here, there are actually tanks struggling with the idea that a dps is pulling for/ahead of them?
First of all - if any melee does this, they have Bloodbath, which they can hold up to like six mobs at bay for a few seconds at least. They have my full consent to pull ahead if im not there yet as long as they survive.
Monk and Reaper in particular Im okay with. Monk has access to Riddle of Earth and a Reaper trying to run ahead to make Arcane Crest pop for a regen for me is very welcome. Had that one recently, man got my comm for that effort.
Before the 15y -> 20y buff to tank ranged skills I even saw benefit of ranged tagging particular enemies in Aurum Vale's first room. Similarly, the final section of Tower of Babil lets you do the same, making mobs come to us and not the other way around.
From the games I played up to now, a DPS or Healer pulling is not irritating in the slightest.
If you get me as your tank in duties, do not think you will insult me if you pull ahead of me, just survive until I get you.
Putting aside, YPYT is not just horrible punishment etiquette, it is actively forcing yourself to do less damage to ensure your spite goea through, slowing things down for everyone. We dont like healbots, why should anyone accept this.
So please, if anyone who reads this is actually believing in YPYT - stop it. You are doing noone any favour and are just feeling entitled to your holier-than-thou position in parties.
I have done dungeons without tanks, you are not as indispensible as you think you are.
YPYT is griefing. Tank role is not "puller" role
