I agree with that but if you drop the ilvl to 60 then you will see daybreak and you will see glasya labolas change the floor black and you won’t be able to skip mechanics so fast on Amon he may as well not have any
The raids will still skew easier but they will become challenging enough they actually do something, much easier than a full on rework which had to be done for something like prae or castrum because those fights just legit didn’t work in 2022
Yes, I did Sycrus MINE a while back and got to actually SEE the mechanics for the fights. The Glasya fight was wild! Soooo much bouncing around! We had discord chat and people were laughing and having a ball with all that craziness.
Too bad newbies will never see that, well unless they are lucky enough to get into a MINE run of ST.
THEY MASSACRED MY BOY, Glasya was truly the most fun raid boss in the CT raids, Scylla and Amon were the ones that could wipe everyone (though with the stat squish her Flare hits a lot harder if you're not in a puddle which I appreciate) and the panic on Xande's meteor phases was real. I always get a tinge of panic when I see people hitting the middle one and not the smaller ones lol. I do enjoy Syrcus over the other two, but the fun is really diminished with no real threat or bite to the fights anymore.
It would be neat if any of the mechanics in there actually mattered at all. As it is there's only a handful of things that'll wipe you, and most wipes I do see are people not paying attention or just plain not bothering to do that handful of mechanics. Most fun I've had in any of them recently was when like 2/3 of the raid got disconnected a while back and we had to actually figure out the fight to get anywhere before people started reconnecting.
Otherwise it's a snoozefest unless somebody sprints fast enough to close the atomos doors before 4 people from alliance C can get to the room or people fail to notice final boss dude casting his insta wipe :p
I like getting syrcus tower because of how short it is. Feels like hitting the checkpot in terms of spinning the roulette. Realistically the length of alliance raids should be more standarized. Getting paradigm's breach feels especially bad because the person taking the 30minute penalty at the start gets to use DF again before I will when I stay. Paradigm's breach just takes that long.
I’ll take any kind of rework so long it means I don’t have to suffer through the CT raid series (or any same raids in a row tbh) because ilv cheesing shenaningans 6 times in a week via roulette.
Pretty sure at least Trial & Leveling roulette ignores your iLv (CMIIW, I remember getting paired with a rando that admits doing this & groans when they got Zodiark normal), why can’t that apply to AR as well?
The only boss I think could use a rework is the Dullahan, everything else is fine if the item level is properly adjusted.
What REALLY needs a rework in ARR is Hall of the Novice and Guildhests, these are still teaching players how to tank incorrectly.
I love crystal tower being faceroll easy. It’s a once per day thing. Some content should be faceroll with good rewards. That’s why we have these dailies.
The hard content exists too. They can coexist.
