    Crystal tower raid fights could use a rework

    So it's my own generalized consensus that nobody ever likes getting queued into these. I've seen people drop right after loading in. Some people agree in the party chats that they'd like to see a revamp of the fights. I can't say that I'd be excited to bring friends into this content for the first time.

    Frankly I think they could do with some updates to the bosses or mechanics. Nobody ever sees the pots needing to be healed, it is not necessary mostly because of the huge ilvl creep. I have seen people who aren't invisible-tethered on that boss just idling...

    Since this is content that pretty much all new players have to do for 80 expansion, it would seem like a good investment to revamp it considering it may not leave a great impression on free trial players/or people who only buy standard edition.

    It seems like the reactions were positive with the ARR dungeon revamps. I don't see why we couldn't expect a future update to the CT raids if the developers are counting on the free trial experience to bring in more money.

    Healers are roles that change their business depending on the content and party members, so I think it can't be helped that they get bored when they have free time.

    People don't pay attention or actually do the Crystal Tower mechanics when you get it in Alliance Raid roulette NOW. Call me a pessimist if you like, but something tells me completely revamping the mechanics of the raids would merely exacerbate this issue.

    It would work better as a 4 person. And something that can be done with trusts, but maybe make a certain catboy one of the trust members.

    I don't think a revamp is necessary. The mechanics are good and fun and minimum item level it was one of the toughest alliance raids because we had to do regular tankswaps and burn through cooldowns in World of Darkness to survive the auto attacks. As you said, it is item level creep and they could just make them all minimum item level.

    They could adjust mechanic indicators like they did in the MSQ dungeons, but I think the biggest improvement they could make is to combine the maps and reduce loading screens.

    The reason people leave these raids isn't just because of how braindead they have become but because as the lowest level alliance raid and because of it being required, it's going to be the most frequently queued for by new players and drag people in a little more frequently than the others.

    I would have to argue that most of the community likes braindead content otherwise they would do all their unsync farms at minimum item level.

    Just drop the ilvl back to like 60 so we actually see mechanics again and it fixes 90% of the problems

    The crystal tower raids aren’t actually that easy ilvl bloat just destroys them because the game throws poetics at you so everyone has ironworks at a minimum

    You must not get the type of runs I've gotten. More than once have I gotten people who've said these raids are their favorite. I've also gotten times when the pots need healing. Heck in the past when people have made similar threads about this raid there have been people who have stated they haven't unlocked the other ones on alts due to liking how brain dead these raids are. It's how the player base is. At least the NA and EU. Not sure if the JP still enjoy slowing down their dps to see the mechanics.

    You'd see mechanics being skipped even back during late ARR. I doubt they will change much more than what they already have. Like how they changed the thunder stack marker during the five headed dragon from a purple arrow above your head, changing the floating platform marker into a floating stack marker, or how if you get the single target mechanic during the Cloud of Darkness fight it's now has the follow indicator we see in later raids. Course who knows as I didn't expect a death animation rework for the last raid due to 6.2. Now if they'd go an change all the other voidsent death animations. Like idk all of the ones in the only raid that deals 100% with the void.

    To an average brand new sprout, the CT series is simply overwhelming. Castrum and Prae are vastly improved for a level 50 player in level 50 gear, same needs to happen for the similar point in the story.

    It needs a rework, and removal from the constraints of a full Alliance where you have all those geared level 90 destroying the content before you can even get off a single spell.

    Leave that until 500 or so quests in the future when your gear has caught up a bit. But right now, CT isn't that much fun for an on-level player, and it's not like they will see a single mechanic outside of "A: All in the belly / B: Belly time / C: Can we join you in the belly?" which they are likely dead on the floor for anyway.
