the only females I found to feel reserved are the viera.
I happen to think my mi'qo is very exuberant

they did add in extra idle poses recently, so its probably something devs are already considering.
personally would like alternate weapon poses, or a toggle between the gendered ones at least
Now that the final (planned) race is in the game, I think it's high time we talked about this idea again. I personally still think it sucks for an entire race or sex to all be typecast the exact same way on account of the animations they're stuck with. The devs are doubtless aware of this, or at least feeling the repercussions, you'll notice serious MSQ characters like Y'shtola or Yugiri or Fordola or Sadu and probably others are hardly ever shown emoting because their associated animations do not fit their characters whatsoever.
To their credit, the devs have increasingly been making and using more universal/generic emotes during cutscenes, but occasionally a race-specific one will still slip through and you likely understand how it feels if you're like me and play a female Au Ra despite, and not because of, how cute and meek they've been made to be...
Au Ra female idle kinda blows, and I'd kill to have the default female miqo'te idle on my au ra. I support this 100%
I'd prefer to have this option. For a roleplaying game, it's hard to roleplay a certain type of character when your character's animations pigeonhole you. It would be nice to be able to have the miqo idle, a middie sit, an elezen (anything but normal jog), and mix/match. Sure it might take away from "racial uniqueness" but would swap that for individual uniqueness.
More customization options are always good. Unlock all animations and idles on all races so people can just choose whatever they prefer!
Yeah this seemed to be an unpopular opinion when I first made the thread, but I care about making and playing the kind of character I want more than I do race... distinctiveness? and being able to change the built-in personality they all come with would go a long way, I think. And, like I've said previously, it (theoretically) shouldn't be that hard, there's little to no anatomical differences to account for (basically just tails. Roegadyn and Lalafell proportions, maybe)
Holy necromancer Batman.
