Well if I was on the couch there would be no space for a mouse or keyboard, certainly the touch screen on something like the surface could be used in some concepts, but I don't really like the idea of moving with the touch screen. I think kicking back comfy, handheld. Also I assume for combat you'd be able to use the controller setup for the system, so combat wouldn't need touching (which would be painful indeed).
As I approach full on computer I'd probably just.. use my full on computer. The attractiveness of this is the handheld nature that comes with controller (built-in, not meaning pairing a bluetooth controller with a laptop screen). Not that I think there is anything wrong with the surface, tablet shape but a PC is pretty handy. Yet if I'm going to need a keyboard and mouse I'll just use my UFO of a main PC then. Just to be clear I don't see myself 'maining' any sort of device, tablet, laptop, or handheld, just thought it could be a cute supplement (or an expensive paperweight).
