Strange the meaning of perception would suggest to tell what you are gathering.
Luck would be a better stat to use for quality of item.

Everyone keeps saying, sell it, sell it.
Okay, blatantly ignore that its only useful for LTW (again, does not permit its drop rate).
It's currently selling on my server for... 120 gil.
Given that its all purchasable from NPC's from 1280 gil (although it will never sell close to that on market ward), alumen has very limited usability.
I think the issue is less the amount of alumen, and more the lack of ore to be honest. Working on my achievements, I've gotten more than enough alumen for my leatherworking needs, but I'm sorely lacking in iron ore for both my blacksmith and armorer.
If its armorer... 4 iron ore makes 12 nuggets, 3 nuggets makes 12 squares
so 4 iron ore makes 48 squares... Each armorer synth needs 2 squares... so how much Iron do you really need?
5250 synths from 21-50 will need 10500 squares
So you need 875 iron ore...
Thats your entire luminary... You wanna know how fast I could get 875 iron ore?
That is if I didn't want to just buy it because it's super cheap?
At most... and I mean most... 2 days of mining.... and thats only because of gathering fatigue
Id be more concerned with where you're going to fit 100 stacks of iron squares...
or where you plan to get 57,750 earth shards
Attributes have a lot to do with gathering specific materials as well. For instance, rosewood logs is better gained increasing intelligence. (Which enhances the BTN's yield rate) Don't really remember which one was for MIN between VIT and MND.
