Relic is at least mid-core content.

You need at least to read a guide for any Relic, thats not casual. Any casual content I can just do it first time without any trouble. Doing any relic all by yourself is really difficult without any guide. And it's really time consuming too.
I can't believe that it is casual for you. That would be the first casual content that I actually needed to read a guide.

I see Eureka as a progressive thing. It has for sure a lot of room for improvement. But is not "the worst content ever made" as some players are yelling at others. ^^

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize I were speaking to the forum police. I do find it a tad ironic here you are chastising me for speaking my opinions regarding Pagos yet not only have you come running to its defense at every opportunity, you've outright mocked people who disagree with you. I quoted you specifically because your post was incorrect. You claimed Pagos was difficult, and just above claimed it mid-core content. Both are wrong. The relic has always been a time sink for casual players. Good for you that you enjoy Pagos, but don't go around acting like it's something difficult.

You don’t need a guide to do relics. Don’t exaggerate.

HW relics had multiple steps that read “Run X content with X weapon equipped”. The game literally tells you what you need to do. That’s not difficulty.

I'm sorry, but...read a guide to do a relic ?

Why would you need a guide, when everything is explained IG ? Farm this, bring me X of those items, that you can get from tomestone, do X dungeon to please your weapon, do light so you weapon grow stronger...None of those things need a guide.
There isn't more casual content than the relic weapon.
The first steps of the Relic back in the beginning of ARR was midcore. You had to do HM version of the primals, and Titan in ilvl60 wasn't a joke, plus everyone was learning how FFXIV end game content worked.

Since then, it has been very, very casual all along. Also very time consuming, but easy.

And I have to say, I miss the very first relic before Atma. A mix of semi-difficult content, a little farm, some dungeons, a little crafting involved. THAT was fun. Granted if was too quick to finish, but I liked the diversity, and the semi-hard content involved.

But man I hate the new one. I hate the FATE train. I hate the mindless grinding, the dumb mobs, the soulcrushing repetition of the same rotation on the same mobs for hours, without chat, without fun.

And before you talk about "hard content" that souldn't be fun, I played FFXI, a lot. We had our share of long, grindy content and in some points, it was wayyy worse that this. But the gameplay and the reward made it ok.

I needed. Not every relic step was like that. The Crystal sand, unidentifiable and light farm was difficult without a guide to find the optimal way. I couldn't find the right NPC for the first FATE farm step too.

Guides help find “optimal ways”, but you don’t need one to complete any of those steps; it’s disingenuous to say that relics require guides in order to complete them. The game tells you where you need to go, and who you need to speak to. They, in turn, tell you exactly what you need to progress to the next step.

To address your comment about the NPC for the FATE farming step:
Accepting the quest “Soul Without Life” (the first Anima step) from Ardashir in Helix tells you:

The game tells you everything you need to do. The Journal lists where you find each of the Aspected Crystals (which region’s FATEs gives which crystals). Just read the text. That’s not Mandatory-Guide level content.

Unidentifiables? Crystal Sands? The NPCs literally have lists of everything you need; for the Unidentifiables, the game tells you how you can obtain the items (dungeons, beast tribes, crafting). Ulan has an entire list of items that you can exchange for crystal sands (from scrips to materia to item drops from primals). This game hands you all the resources that you need; you just need to read the system text.

You cannot convince me that relic content is so difficult that it requires the use of a guide in order to complete. And no, asking for clarification on a certain step (e.g., “How many tomestones of poetics do I need for an unidentifiable piece?”) does not make the content automatically not-casual; such information can be found just looking at the vendors themselves anyways.

The thing is... We don't grow "stronger" with this Relic. Alot of people already have ilvl370 Weapons way easier than the Relic. And 5 Materia vs 2 won't do much for "stronger" especially if your Relic is "Deter/SS" or something like that.

its really not about the gear stats though. Its something to do. I mean, you can tank all casual content right now at i359, and i havent felt much of a lack not being full i370. Heck, most of the stuff is synced anyways. It's just the something to do with pagos is a little hard on people considering this game's sort of casual limited time focus. It doesnt have to be the train, but it does need to be doable in chunks of 30 min to an hour, not "have to grind for 3 hours" or "party takes 45 minutes to find the perfect level range of people."
