SO they would investigate if Paypal is involved or even Reddit (with screen as evidence)?

They've already stated that they accept absolutely no third-party evidence due to fears that it could be altered.

Though honestly, that's probably one of the main reasons why almost nobody ever gets banned for illicit activity.

I’ll debunk this tangent right now. I’ve raided with a good portion of the world first team over the years and I can promise you first hand that they are not in this for the money. If they were, there are frankly far better options for players of their talent and motivation. The progression raid scene is upset about the lack of a third Ultimate because it means we face another massive raid content lull akin to the end of HW. But that’s a topic for another thread.

There’s no denying that the rules are there in black and white, but let’s not lose sight of the simple fact that they are interpreted in many different shades of grey by all levels of the playerbase. Anywhere from the aforementioned performing bard, through those using mods for their tumblr screenshots and onwards to those using various parsers, screencapture and other such software hooking into the client in some manner. Even those using colourful language amongst their trusted friends. Alas, it’s not for us to decide where the line is between bending and abusing the rules.

You sound pretty biased. Likening this issue with bards playing copyright music is such a strawman argument, you are really showing your hand.

My point is, berate them if you think it’s immoral or such. But playing the TOS card is a bit silly

Also silly is not being able to show who said individual is because you will get banned.
Clearly these people are crooks and when they get peoples real money would most likely not even give you a clear run of whatever content.
Maybe i am just Iron Fist but it reminds me of the law where i live, minors if they commit any crime cannot have their name mentioned which is obsurd

I find it strange how people are fine with run selling for gil but not rl cash. Especially considering most people who could pay with gil anyway are probably buying that gil to begin with. Selling runs in general is a problem because it poisons the well (duty completed party finders) but the fault lies with the buyers not the sellers. It isn't really that big a deal though honestly. 90% of the community can't be bothered to raid so if some guy pays some group to clear for him in an attempt to seem cool then how does it hurt most of the community that doesn't care to begin with. RMT in most games is extremely destructive to the playerbase and that game's economy but in this game that just isn't the case. At worst gil buying influences the crafter wars but most crafters involved make more gil than the gil sellers do anyway. I don't think run selling is anywhere near as destructive and it's just the hot topic for this week for some reason.

Not really. Breaking ToS is breaking it. Just because you are againts people selling content for gil, doesnt mean what you do with your bard instrument is ''legal'' in the game. Many people break the rules for playing copyrighted songs in the game. If you really want to be the guy who wants to talk about being flawless and not breaking any ToS, might as well bring that copyright music.

It is, because both are breaking the ToS. Just because you like doing it, doesnt mean you arent breaking the ToS. Its the same with mods. Many use them and it is againts the ToS. Just because you like it, doesnt you arent breaking the ToS. So yes it's exactly the same.

That's a terrible argument. That's like saying Murder is the same as Shoplifting. They are both breaking the law................

While, both RMT and Copyrighted Performance are both against ToS and I agree that, if someone is going to play the ToS card, people should be willing to discuss what is a more impactful violation.

Calling them "exactly the same" is willful ignorance.
