I guess I stopped doing MSQ roulette a long time ago anyway but on some odd occasions I do help new players I know out to clear these. Now I might stop :x it’s not that i mind people watching the cutscenes because they are nice but I don’t wanna watch them again. Also inevitable “petition to remove msq roulette” thread in this section of the forums inc.
It's insulting when you think about it. You just know the increased rewards are gonna be small(lol).
This seems like it was a little bit of a lazy "fix". If you can even call it a fix. I'd rather these instances just be reworked to be 4-Man Dungeons. They have reworked old content before with all 2.0 24-Man Raids only requiring a single tank now. I'm not sure why they haven't made these 2 Dungeons 4-Man by now. Honestly, they might even be a bit more interesting with 4 players without the need to rework anything lol.
Had these dungeons just come out a week ago and this was SE's knee jerk reaction to making the roulette less toxic, I would agree with you.
But this late in the game most if not all of the blame rests with SE and their totally disregard for going back to fix the environment they created. I had hoped that with the squad system seemingly coming along nicely that SE would have made it a priority to get the AI used for them to work in these two final ARR dungeons with either the Scions or random adventurer stand ins. But there's nothing so far.
You can blame people all you want, but SE were the ones who sat on their hands while this issue persisted for so long.
This will likely be the cause. If I remember correctly, they added the MS Roulette because the queues for it were so bad for new players because they weren't in any other roulette. I see the queues slowing down significantly and I think it's quite possible they'll revert the change sooner or later.
On the bright side, those doing the Mentor Roulette can look forward to these two popping more often now. :^)
If I recall correctly, you can only votekick after five minutes of duty, but the duty timer only starts after everyone has seen the initial duty-introduction cutscene. So going by that logic, one could potentialy hold an entire party hostage because the timer would never start, hence no votekick. I really don't think this was a smart solution to this problem.
I have never seen anyone be toxic towards players who wanted to watch the cutscenes, this change is literally the dumbest way possible to deal with it even if this were a thing.
