Which in context makes even less sense since turrets and other devices also become stronger as the gun becomes upgraded. It's already grasping when somehow all the AST weapons come with sleeves that perfectly fit your arcanum (with the worst offender being the PotD weapons that have completely different arcanum cards anyway). It's not any less likely for primal weapons or AF weapons to have their own aetherconvertor than a primal dropping a bow or katana that also comes with a matching quiver+arrow or scabbard.

You are trying to bring game mechanics into the equation when there is no evidence whatsoever that this affects it in a lore and design standpoint. And then bring up more examples of gear that is part of the weapon. The converter is NOT part of your weapon. It converts your aether into energy for the turret, this is explained during the MCH questline. Getting stronger suggests more aether, further enhancing your turret.

The aether is sourced from the wielder to the converter, not the weapon, whereas the latter is used as a medium to utilize the former. The converter is just as part of your weapon as a quiver would be for a bow, since that's where you're getting your charged ammo from.

The weapon does not require the gauss barrel to be utilized. Based on the existing theory on gauss technology, the gauss barrel amplifies the velocity of a projectile utilizing magnetism. Wich is likely to be powered by the converter.

The weapon does not require it if you were to just shoot it as normal, but MCH abilties are done through the aetherconvertor. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to shoot lasers or spray bullets with what would be a revolver or even handcannon. You have NPCs like Hilde or Captain Madison who do use guns/musket (and infact the former doesn't even have an aetherconvertor but still has a gun sheathed), but you wouldn't see them do anything beyond shooting regular bullets.

If I don't like it on myself, I certainly don't want others to see it on me. And obviously I don't want to see on other MCH's. I think there is a need to be able to hide globally, especially since the way it's currently designed is simply not consistent with how the rest of the game works. There's no reason to be against this.

This is exactly what I hate about the /gaussbarrel thing it only hides it for ourselves...this is an mmorpg
This is an mmorpg.....if I wanted to hide thing only for myself I would play ffx or xii or something like that

summoner the egi glamour
monk the gloves invisible glamour

Why is mch the one not following the rules?
Gauss barrel adds nothing to mch and overheat already covers a "stronger shot"
Gauss barrel adds nothing to mch

Keep overheat, delete gauss barrel
Or let us hide it

Those are unique machinist skills that do not prove that the gun needs to be linked to the converter. They can do it with any gun.

Normal riflemen use actual bullets. Machinists used highly-condensed lightning aether. It was explained in one of the 30-50 quests.

They can also make the graphic different, like to appear on top of the gun or something that goes with all types of guns. Removing it from the game is the easiest fix though. SE should do more the just /gaussbarell
