    Gauss barrel...

I mained mch as my main dps in heavensward but dropped it in stormblood for many reasons but the main reason was the gauss barrel and how it makes the job really unappealing.

I know I can toggle to not see it myself but would it really kill ffxiv's servers to let us toggle it for everyone not to see it?

They did this for summoner with egi glamour. Is it not something worth doing to make mch more appealing?

I know it's not a problem for everyone (nothing is always a problem for everyone), we know, everyone knows. But are there some people who would feel more attracted to mch if the gauss barrel could be hidden?

We all know glamour matters more than the strongest ilevel weapon in any expansion

    It just.....doesn't help

Yeah, when the devs implemented the Gauss Barrel visibility toggle, they didn't go all the way. So they make it invisible for the user, but other players can still see it on you? The hell is the point then? The whole intention of why a player would want it is for it to be completely invisible to anyone and everything. When we turn off headgear, would we be okay with it being invisible to us but knowing that everyone else can still see it? Of course not.

Simply put, they should adhere to the glam rules that they themselves came up with.

Or maybe they should just get rid of it? Get rid of the stupid thing on the waist too. They've already gotten rid of plenty of visuals that were more aesthetically pleasing than that lame rotating clamp and steampunk fanny pack.

When I first started red mage, and realized that both the sword AND the gem are unique for each weapon, I immediate though of how badly machinist was screwed up by the devs. None of the machinist accessories are designed to match the weapon, there is little variation in appearance, and they clash hideously with just about every armor and weapon design in the game. Meanwhile every samurai sword has a matching sheath, and every bow has matching quiver and arrows.

Either redesign the machinist equipment to be unique for each weapon, or just get rid of them.

Yea I agree 100%. Just eliminate it from the game all together, in its current state we need to have it up all the time so its not a choice. The only purpose is to make us clip our gcd with barrel stabilizer and to be ugly as hell

The satchel is linked to your turrets. Not your gun.

Which in context makes even less sense since turrets and other devices also become stronger as the gun becomes upgraded. It's already grasping when somehow all the AST weapons come with sleeves that perfectly fit your arcanum (with the worst offender being the PotD weapons that have completely different arcanum cards anyway). It's not any less likely for primal weapons or AF weapons to have their own aetherconvertor than a primal dropping a bow or katana that also comes with a matching quiver+arrow or scabbard.

You are trying to bring game mechanics into the equation when there is no evidence whatsoever that this affects it in a lore and design standpoint. And then bring up more examples of gear that is part of the weapon. The converter is NOT part of your weapon. It converts your aether into energy for the turret, this is explained during the MCH questline. Getting stronger suggests more aether, further enhancing your turret.
