I like the idea, but I would say have phase 1 in The Peaks, phase 2 in The Fringes, and phase 3 in The Lochs. I would also keep it so you have to successfully complete the FATE in each instance (so let's say Balmung being super congested gets 6 instances, you would have to beat the FATE 6 times, one per instance), to progress. If you fail in even ONE instance, next part doesn't spawn. Ixion must be beaten in all 6 instances to be able to get a reward, fail in one instance, no reward for anyone. This way you're ACTIVELY splitting the playerbase between instances to successfully complete the content, thus lowering instance load significantly. At least, that's the idea.
Even if square upgraded their servers to the most modern state of the art systems you guys would still be demanding them to upgrade their servers because the inherent problem would not be fixed. Because the reward is a mount everyone wants it and everyone swarms it the moment it is up. The instances fill up and the individual connections people have cannot withstand the hundreds upon hundreds of player action updates flooding through their connection in any given second leading to mass lag.
This is why if they wanted Ixion to reward a mount, it should have been an 8 trial. Just to prevent this kind of issue.
Very different compared to Fox Lady where within a couple weeks the amount of people gunning for it died down considerably.
With all the drama I keep reading over Ixion, I can't help but laugh because I think it's the ugliest most ridiculous mount in the game.
That also would not surprise me, lol
