To all those people that loved the MW and did not want an AH

I got like 2 hours to pass til Biology... Oh I know I'll go buy 3 pieces of gear from the MW!

No, you get to go search for the retainer, go to the correct ward, get placed on the opposite end of the retainer your looking for, buy your gear/item, then rinse and repeat till you have everything you need.

You bid 900,00. Fail
You bid 1,000,000 fail
You bid 1,000,001 fail
You bid 1,000,010 fail
You bid 1,000,100 fail
You bid 1,000,200 fail

Keep going til the actual price this player is actually selling it for......

Not to forget history erases among other things.

Now I'm not for or against ah/mw they both have thier advantages. But buying what I want at a price I know is a huge advantage over bidding, moreso on your time concerns...... really? You can't walk 10 seconds? But you can place an X number of bids for 1 item...
Stop to think of all the fees you pay placing items on an auction. Guess money isn't a huge concern either.....

Ah has it's pros, but seriously mw has it's advantage also.

It's like shopping at a 7-11 that has everything you want at jacked up prices vs going to the store with huge selection and everything is on sale. And yes some days I do prefer a nice dinner at the same cost of a frozen pizza for the same prices with a few min difference, while others I'm lazy and don't want to go the extra mile.

What about those of us who said we didn't need an AH, just a vast improvements to the search feature and the ability to buy from the search menu directly? >_>

Except that all that lag you're "alleviating" is instead shunted over to the actual ward area themselves. That's why they used to crash all the time. >_>

^ pretty much this. I opposed AH initially because MW could have been a good system with some work AND because a good number of people only wanted it because FFXI had it. A lot of people didn't like it initially simply because it was different. Like most of Tanaka's ideas it had potential but was completely unfinished. How it was at launch was awful, how it is now is tolerable. It could be better still but it seems we're starting to just go more for full AH.

Oh and I also hated the specific way XI did it. I didn't have too much experience with it and the way everyone explains it to me, it sounds obnoxiously stupid.

The way we're going to have it is almost the way that most MMOs do and I'm fine with that. I voted for drastic change and if this is part of it, so be it. No problem on my end.

Can't speak for the others, but in WoW there is an actual auction function. Yes, I know it never gets used, but its presence is enough to justify calling it an auction house.

Like I said in the last big AH/MW post, most of the people asking for an AH are actually just asking for a vastly improved MW system that can only loosely be called an AH.

The problem with market ward is when you want to sell anything. You put something on 10k and someone will see that and put it to 5k... At least doesn't happen with an AH.
