Why would I sell my house when I can't sell it for the large sum that I feel it's worth? They've already stated that's against the rules.

What was said: Flipping is bad. Selling for exorbitant amounts is bad.
What you heard: All sales are bad.
You can write a ten thousand word essay about what Yoshi meant, it doesn't change that you're pointing to half of what he said and saying "Aha" while saying the other half doesn't exist.
I never said reporting people is against the ToS, I said harassing people is against the ToS.
I strongly suggest anyone thinking about flipping their house and is reading this thread does not take Momo or especially Stouts opinion on this as gospel, Momo trying to claim it is a grey area when it is not and Stout blatantly in favor of people doing it. They are not the ones who will be punished for doing it as they are not the ones willing to take such a risk themselves despite telling others it's okay to do it or might be okay to do it. You on the other hand will get reported and will get punished if do it.
-facekeyboard- I just have no words right now...
You are trying to make out that it is a grey area when it is not.
People who do it based on your implication that it 'might be okay' due to being a grey area according to you will end up punished for it and it will be partially your fault for giving them that information. Stout is even worse by telling people it is okay to do it as long as they don't charge an 'enormous' amount for the plot. You can argue till your blue in the face how much is too much to sell it for, you are still making people who buy it from you pay you to relinquish and then pay again for the plot from the game itself.
Buying plots to flip them is not allowed, you have two options allowed which are relinquish and get no money back or wait 45 days (when re-activated) to allow for reclamation which gets a portion of the amount you paid back. SE may in future add an NPC option to buy it back from people at same price cost to buy from the game or less than paid but until then you either relinquish for no return on investment or wait for reclamation after 45 days for a portion of your investment back. Those are currently the only two options SE allows.
when you read in the terms of service "you may not in any way disrupt or interfere with the game experience of other players" which is the rule selling houses apparently breaks.
it could then be argued that holding onto my house even if I don't really use it is against the terms of service because by holding on to it I am "disrupting other players games" and denying them a chance at buying a plot...........
the thing I don't get though is what is the objective of the discussion. to stop people selling houses at all. then they'll just keep them? how does that in anyway solve the housing problem. it doesn't.....
when it comes to selling in general though how would me putting my house in party finder for the price I paid for the plot for example be any more "disruptive to other peoples games" than me keeping the plot even if I don't use it?
Note I still don't condone the flipping of land for mass profits or even the way the buyer has to pay twice but I don't see how anyone genuinely wanting to sell a plot they don't really use anymore at a reasonable price is considered disruptive......
it's actually less disruptive than just keeping it. at least if someone sells you have a chance at a plot. if everyone just keeps them because there's no reason to let go of them then you have no chance at a plot.
shows how messed up the system really is.
they really need to implement a transfer system... just adding more wards doesn't fix the problem as has been seen already. the recently added wards haven't changed anything, neither did the ones before that, and likely neither will the next ones they add..
But this doesn't mention selling FC's and the attached house.
