Keep in mind that there are a few things being added to ARR that isn't HW exclusive, like the beginner's hall and mentor system. Coupled that with all the patch updates between 2.0 to 2.55, it's bound to be a pretty big download.
You're all wrong. If anyone would bother to check their files, you'd see that the game currently takes up about 20.3GB of space on PC, so they are, in fact, adding something in this update. I'm not sure if it's actually 10GB worth of content, or just 'reserving' the extra space for future updates, but it is, in fact, space that the game was not previously using.
It's funny how angry and insulting people will get over something that takes literally twenty seconds to fact-check...

Basically, the game has reached the maximum required space advertised. They now need to increase it just to cover their asses, that's all. It is no indication whether patch 3.2 will be 10gb or not. What is clear is that patch 3.2 will make the game size go over the previous advertised 20gb. Hence, you won't be able to play the game anymore if you only set aside 20gb for the game.
Anyway, this forum sure is full of angry and reactive people.
Had to translate and common sense this announcement. Basically they are updating the requirements to the current space requirements as opposed to launch. Of course the game won't run if you don't have the GBs worth of patches installed. As for 3.2, I assume HD textures in which case go Yoshi-P! But yeah, the only issue here is lack of clarification in the announcement. As for dumping HW onto your machine (ala DragonFlyy), I would assume it would have to do with some possible compatibility snafus in 3.2 or something like that.
Shouldn't things like HD textures be optional, so as not to waste space for those of us who can't use them?
