So, as per Lodestone, the game will require more storage. I'm only talking about PC, because if you're not on PC, lolconsole. Anyways, serious talk here. 10 gigs for a patch is HUGE! Does anyone have any actual information on what it could be?

10Gb isn't much in todays games IMO, 2+ years ago, I would have guessed at HQ textures for a better looking world, but today, eek it's probably not enough tbh.
3.2 is coming in February? so Events? new dungeons, new trial? New Alexander Midas raids, so it's most probably those things tbh, or some of them.
the dungeon, alexander and such will never ask 10 gb exept if they have high resolution cut scene uncompressed.... that weird... do we will finally get the HD texture?
If they're adding 4k support in 3.2, there should also be HQ textures.. Not that much point doing 4k support with the current textures really.
Although.. That wouldn't really explain the increase for consoles, since those aren't likely to get higher resolution textures.
The following is an announcement for those currently playing only FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. This announcement does not affect users playing FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward or the all-in-one FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. The previously announced disk space required for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will increase on all platforms with the release of Patch 3.2 currently scheduled for release in February 2016. This is due to the fact that the development team has added a substantial amount of new content to FINAL FANTASY XIV since the launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Reading is hard.
This isn't because of the patch. The patch isn't going to be 10 GB. It's only a change for ARR's requirements and has nothing to do with 3.X content.
whats really interesting is the extra disc space is only required if your still on ARR it sounds like, if your playing HW you won't need the extra space.
so that would imply that this 10GB doesn't actually contain anything available in 3.2 HW, only base ARR stuff.

It's not actually 10GB of anything. It's just the amount extra that they added from 2.0 to 2.55. Please read.
The only thing that's changing is what's on the package where it says required disk space.
They aren't adding anything.... it's just an increase to the system requirements.
IE if someone downloaded ARR today it's much bigger than it was at release, so they have to reflect that in the sys req.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
its just worded badly
what people are saying is
you buy ARR and it says on the box or w/e, requires 20GB HDD space
however all the patch data since 2.0 up to 3.2 has added around 10GB
so now when you buy ARR it will say, requires 30GB, to account for the patch data onto of the base game data
i believe HW already says it requires about 30GB which is why it doesn't "affect" HW
at least thats what I'm assuming people are trying to explain
