What the hell happened to Alex normal?

i stopped playing mech at il187 and spent months learning and leveling warrior. now i am trying to gear up and i A4 need one last shaft....and I keep getting trolls who cant do adds on phase 2...wont intercept balls or lasers...who then want to tank despite having less hp than me when I am in Deliverance....when will these WoW trolls leave

I understand the gear is ilvl190 which is fine for alts but is it really worth doing alexander normal?

Did A4 a couple times with girlfriend, people might just roll on everything now and sometimes one person wins multiple items and you end up with nothing so we stopped.

I'm assuming a lot of people are doing Diadem instead of having to deal with Alex normal nonsense.

I don't understand why people still insist on complicating things by doing it this way. It's clunky and wastes time/DPS.

It's so much simpler to just provoke Oppressor and have the MT run across the room, since 0.5 will follow them.

Tanks aren't supposed to provoke Oppressor 0.5. That's a very sloppy method that pulls both bosses close to each other if you don't grab insta-aggro. Instead:


- Main Tank tanks the Oppressor to the south.
- When you hear the 0.5 alarm you Tank swap. The Off Tank is now on the original Oppressor.
- The Main Tank, no longer tanking Oppressor, runs to the north where Oppressor 0.5 will spawn.
- Oppressor 0.5's initial aggro is based on the original Oppressor's aggro when the alarm sounded. Thus he'll run straight for the Main Tank.


No need to grab snap-aggro, no bosses running around everywhere, and the Tank swap happens while everyone is standing still.

This happens to all content as it gets older. The good players stop doing it because it's old and no longer worth the time, and people are much less patient because it is old content so they abandon at the first sign of trouble which makes it impossible for new players to learn.

It's why it's a good idea for content to be eased over time, because the difficulty increases on its own due to the players.

Even better, just tank Oppressor where he stands so you don't mess up your DPS' openers.

MT runs south after the provoke, 0.5 will follow them.

I stopped doing A4 and A3 (yes, A3 too, thats how bad it is) aswell now. Wiping on adds reaching the lightning. Not to sound as an elitist jerk, but no matter how good or bad you know the fight you only have to kill low hp mobs that you see pop in the map, it can't be THAT hard. Also the loot lockoout should have been lifted on the weekly part, but should have been kept for the runs. Everyone rolling on eveyrthing isn't good. The last A4 I did it took like 40 mins, teaching people how to do stuff (which they ignored and me and the other healer still did all the work on orbs, tethers and dpsing adds while DPSers were busy on the leg), we didn't get a single drop and ironically the one who kept getting killed and barely did something, got 3 items because rng, that's why.

This is what I thought as well. I've not attempted a run yet, so cant speak personally, but the forums have been making Alex rounds sound AWFUL for quite awhile now.

I guess I've been pretty lucky. I've done nothing but spam A1-4 in DF for roughly 6 hours and I only had a vote abandon once. 90% of the time its one shot.

But haven't been lucky when it comes to loot. I have not gotten a single shaft .... and I have to repeat it until I get 4?! Diadem so far is alot more enjoyable than repeating A normal.
