My eye was caught by this line in the OP;To me that said that the OP was bummed out, burned out or tired of Alexander because of running Normal mode repeatedly and getting tired of it before attempting Savage.Quote:
(IMO) NM killed SAVAGE or any desire to attempt to beat it,
Well, as you inferred earlier, I (and others) have said that Savage could have had the same story content, but the bosses could have used differnt mechanics, there could have been additional boss encounters, or slight map differences. It should be trivially easy for the Dev team to change up Savage mode to be a more satisfying challenge without gating story behind it. I'm sorry that they did choose the route of making the two modes essentially identical other than difficulty.Quote:
Only 1 thing in the topic is affected by directly farming NM nonstop, and its not the main issue(story is)
I am confused though, why would anyone hit their head of a difficult raid if not for the rewards? Are the rewards really that worthless? The 3.1 patch may add new content and gear, but will it raise the ilvl? 3.0 skyrocketed the ilvl in the space of 10 character levels, if they kept bumping the ilvl at that pace, we'd be looking at ilvl 500+ gear by the end of the HW expansion series. I was given to understand that ilvl growth beyond 3.0 would be at a more relaxed pace, in which case the gear from Alex savage should remain relevant for a long while?
Sorry, I'm not trying to be a pain, I'm just trying to understand. Everyone I know who persisted through Coil in a static started because of the gear and the challenge, not the story. So with Alexander, is the gear not sufficient? Is the challenge not there?
