then how about DRK? can u imagine how much stress healer to make u fully heal just for make walking dead debuff disappear... (and ur HP still reduced cause boss keep hit u)

Living dead seems to be a crapshoot on when to activate, and even when done right, just replaces one problem with another. If i need that invulnerability, that crunches the time to heal me even further, and since the buff is "cured" instead of running out on the timer, a mistimed cure there can also potentially kill the tank.

Living Dead definitely needs to be tweaked. It's only a safe bet if you have a White Mage who is understanding what is going on AND they have Benediction ready. You technically have to heal MORE than max hp considering the fight doesn't just stop when you go into the zombie state. Some of my suggestions to buff it:

1. Add a built in Convalescence into the zombie buff.
2. Give the Dark Knight a Souleater buff (life steal), DPS increase and Defense UP while a zombie.
3. Add some type of visual indicator, maybe with a large Doom timer and transformation, to reflect the zombie state. A flashing HP bar would be useful.

But.. a healer just needs to heal the maximum HP of the Dark Knight, even if the fight continues. If DRK has 10K, just need to heal the full 10K HP, even if it doesn't top off the DRK.

Living Dead is the riskier of the three and ot could be upgraded a bit indeed but it isn't as bad as it seems. It was a problem when people didn't know how it works but now it's fine.

Last time I used it I was MTing A4 in DF, the DPS was really low and we got to like 4 or 5 Perpetual Beam. Seems one of the healers forget about it and I survived thanks to Living Dead. 3 big heals in the ten seconds after Walking Dead were enough to dispel it.

You don't need to top off the DRK, he just needs heals to equal his Max HP amount. HoTs and selfheals seems to count in too. You would't leave a WAR with 1 HP after Holmgang would you, neither with halved HP. You want to heal at least 90% of his HP if he's MT. The same goes with DRK. 3-4 big heals, which are 2 big heals for every healer in a full party, are more than enough to save the day.

Pretty sure your health HAS to be topped off. It works just like the doom debuff you get in the Wanderer's Palace, where the debuff does not disappear until your current health = your max health. Say the dark knight has 10K maximum hp and the healer is using Cure 2's. If say they use 10K in heals (combination of Cure 2s, Regen, etc) and you take 2K worth of damage during that 10s, then your HP will not be topped off and you will die.

Nope that's not how it works.

You only have to heal the equivalent of the tanks max HP. You don't ever need him to hit full

The condition to heal Walking Dead is actually not having the DRK reach his max HP, it's only healing him for an amount equal to his max HP. It means that if the DRK has 15k HP, you only need to heal him 15k during Walking Dead and he will be cured even if he doesn't go above 50% health because he's still taking damage. Let's take an example.

DRK has 15.000 HP at full.
- He uses Living Dead to survive an attack which would have been lethal to him.
- He is now sitting at 1 HP, in Walking Dead state.
- WHM uses Cure II, heals him for 6.000. DRK has 6.001 HP, still Walking Dead. HP restored during Walking Dead : 6.000

- Boss attacks DRK, DRK takes 2.500 damage. DRK has 7.501 HP, still Walking Dead, but proceeds to a Dark Arts Souleater crit which restores him 2.000 HP. DRK has 9.501 HP. HP restored during Walking Dead : 16.000, Walking Dead is cured.


It requires not as much healing as ppl tend to think especially when he's tanking and consistently takes damage, making the healers healing him anyway.

The tooltip is wrong and it has to be fixed however.

Anyone who thinks Living dead is worse than Holmgang is absolutely insane. It's effectively a better version of the same skill... If your healers let you die with living dead, then you would have also died the same way with Holmgang. You NEED to create a very specific case scenario for holmgang to be more effective as a life saver from getting hit past your HP threshold.

You're telling me the healer being able to REMOVE MY IMMUNITY is good design? Don't try and tell me that the healer needs to "git gud" either....healer shouldnt be scared to heal me because it'll remove my "defensive" cooldown. Is living dead useless? Maybe not, but its far from a good skill and id honestly rather have holmgang self rooting me than Walking dead's death immunity being removed by the healer doing their job....or just dropping dead because they didn't realize it had activated/let it sit to long to let me use the duration and drop dead anyway.
