I see these kinds of numbers (1200) on dummy. 900+ was a real encounter. Normally when you "translate" a dummy parse to a "real" encounter you lose a chunk of dps. To me what's feels wrong is the fact that you can pretty much replace a dps role for a tank one since they can do "enough" dps to clear the encounters we have right now. From the balance perspective it seems wrong, but that's my opinion.

While i agree that the Warrior is fine and the prolem are some of the DrK ability, this statement is Wrong.

The PLD have strong party utility indeed, but the utility pack of the warrior with the slashing debuff and Storm path ( 10% reduction on any damage, BOTH physical and magic) are amazing compared to Delirium.

If you think now to the superior Dps of the War and the Mitigation and utility of a PLD the spot problem for a DrK is pretty obvious.

By the way this isn't a problem of Warrior and Paladin. they are fine, is simply wrong the concept of a Tank Not-bad but Not-good-in-anything.

SE will have to take a good look at DRK sooner or later just like with 2.0 war which sucked big time. then it got buffed and was fine. the same will happen to DRK because it has to currently. the issues may not be as big as 2.0 war was but they are there definitly. the question is WHEN will SE do that. 3.1 at the earliest. worst case is 3.2 next year. fact is : it has to happen atleast to a degree. the only other option aka nerfing WAR wouldnt be a good choice of balance.

Also i find it "funny" when you can bring 6 tanks (WAR or DRK) on fights like Bismarck Ex/Ravana EX and beat it. Its a content relatively new, and yet you can replace the dps classes entirely with tank ones, ignoring the Tank/Healer/DPS formation.

3+ tanks in Bis EX is pretty hilarious. It's like a roulette of who's going to tank what.

Calm down. . . 9k Fell Cleave crit isn't a thing in normal situations. 6k-7k if you're full strength at i180+ sure but not 9k.

Regarding the dps being SOOOO much higher than Dark Knights: I parse very similar to my statics Dark Knight—650ish in raids. Sure, maybe we both suck, but that's the reality I live in. . .

People still mistake "high burst" for "high DPS".

Yet...I wonder why they decided to give WAR the highest base potency of all skills.

Because we have the lowest average potency per rotation of all the classes (besides monk who has low potency because GL). Our Off GCD's are laughable at best too.

People forget:
DRK:
Power Slash, 300 potency attack
Scourge 40 potency DoT (500 total potency including aplication)
Salted Earth, 75! potency DoT
Plunge, 200 potency off GCD
Carve and Spit, 450 potency off GCD

PLD:
Royal Authority, 340 potency attack
Goring Blade, 40 potency DoT (500 potency including application)
CoS, off GCD 30 potency DoT (250 potency including application over duration)
Spirits Within, 300 potency off GCD

WAR:
Butchers Block, 280 potency attack
Fracture, 20 potency 30 sec DoT (300 total including application) <- not worth using
Fell Cleave, 500 potency attack every 6-8 GCD's, on GCD, can't be executed while in tank stance
Brutal Swing 50 potency... This is our only off GCD.

DRK and PLD both have a 500 potency attack too. The difference is, DRK and PLD can still use theirs in tank stance.

You forgot the 400 potency Souleater.

The only thing that maybe should be changed is Equilibrium in Deliverance, but I am more in favor of giving the other two tanks some kind of TP recovery while off tanking.

Edit: And Brutal Swing is 100 potency iirc.

Your info is a bit misleading. WAR has Maim, which increased damage dealt by 20%.

BB is actually 336 potency: 280 + 20%
Fell cleave is 600: 500+ 20%.
And for Fell Cleave, it is not a problem for WAR to stance dance, as they dont lose a GCD.

Not to mention the bonus 10% chance to CRIT that WAR gets in Deliverance.

If you aren't keeping slashing debuff, then this doesnt apply, but that would be bad.
