I would rather have them make more Options for existing races to satisfy peopl who want certain Looks that already exist partly in the established races but don't hit Goal yet for some People and make the new races differently from what we already have.
I know that won't happen for multiple reasons (like the armor Problem) but one can dream...

While I agree the Au Ra can look somewhat like the other races, I don't agree that they're VERY similar. A lot of the face options tend to be on the more angular side, options not available for the other races (They're mostly round in my opinion).

Also you can't compare an Elezen's stature to that of the Au Ra. That Elezen spine reaches the heavens and no one will ever be able to contend.

Are they taller? I've never compared, I've always set my height to 90 when I was an Elezen so I've never experienced a max swollen Roegy. I have to say though from all the female races the female Roegadyn is after my own heart, with Female Highlanders rearing very closely.

I understand that making them to different would be a Problem because of all the work an example would be the link in the first op and the second of your Picture, not necessarily exactly like that but more different from what we already have, i will give an example below of what i wished for from the au'ra (just as an example of how far I hoped they would go.

Yeah Au'ra do not look 100% the same of course and i will probably not mistake an Au'ra for an Elezen but whenever I look at them they look like some weird subspecies of elezen for me.

For example what i hoped for when they anounced a new "Dragon like" race:
lets take the Au'ra as base and add much more scales, not just some patches but maybe the whole Body or large parts being covered (maybe with a slider to choose how much?), more claw like hands and (especialy that) a more reptilian head, maybe having it formed more like a Reptile then a human or a form inbetween the thoot being more on the fang then theet side.

->of course all of this would be more work so I understand that this is unlikely (I already left out the feet being more beastlike because that would alter the shoes to much), just a bit dissapointed that they (in my eyes) loke like hyur /elezen with horns (and btw i hope they will not add viera next, simply for that reason that this would be the thrid human with attachment in the game ot because i hate them or anything)

True, there is a double standard here. But ya know it's a touchy subject in game. Beast tribes have been known to havea primal for a long time and that is why they have been classified as beast tribes, by the currently playable races, Elezen included. We know that Sylphs and Sahagin aren't that different from Lala and Elezen, but in game they wouldn't be welcome in the city states because of their long association with a primal. Moogles are more welcome, but mostly because few people are aware that they exist at all.

Another argument is that Au'Ra are dragon people, Dragons already have a Primal, therefor Au'Ra are a Playable Beast Tribe. >w>

Umm, elezen aren't simpleton beast tribes. Don't forget, there are 12 gods worshipped by various citizens of Eorzea. The 6 race are children of men ingame (unless the heavensward dialogue is different playing an au'ra). Beast tribes are not descendants of men. So obviously, the player races aren't going to conform to beast tribe rule

Anyway, on topic. I'd be very disappointed if the new race is hummingway. Or only the vierra 9 year old children are playable but not the adults. I don't know how many vierra fans there are but I am one of them :P

The highest obstacle I can see that makes my dream impossible is the long feet. But I don't mind sacrificing the feet for the rabbit ears. Especially since bunny ears are exclusive to females for some reason

By looking at male Au Ra which have body mesh like Elezen and running like Miqo'te, SE really should make original race in future IMO :(
