I think no one should have a privileged of complaining about the negative of positionals unless they actually lvl up and work hard on mnk just saying. I see the huge penalties of it missing a positional. Practice makes perfect my friends.

I like the endresult of the mechanic actually, with the random proc. With unlocking exactly one skill at a time it definitely feels weird that you kinda get to do the same thing at lvl 56 but without the randomness.
In the end its the same but in terms of progression there is a bit of a bit of a negative feeling to it, i give you that. What they could have done is at lvl 56 make Fang and Claw only proc 50%, rather than 100%. It would be a mess in terms of rotation but you definitely would be glad to unlock Wheeling thrust for it to have a garanteed 4th ender.
But then again, considering i might have to level sync down to 56 again, id rather have it the way it is now tbh :P
My main issue with wheeling thrust is that it adds nothing to the job. It's a duplicate of fang and claw to the letter in terms of potency, combo placement and effect. The only difference is the positional requirement. As such, this ability literally exists as filler, something to give us a random element to our rotation while providing absolutely no benefit over fang and claw.
It's a wasted slot. That's my issue with it. It has nothing to do with DPS or having to hit the positional or complexity, my problem is that it serves no purpose that fang and claw didn't already serve.
In a perfect world I feel as though full thrust should always proc fang and claw, and chaos thrust should always proc wheeling, and the two of them should have different effects. Perhaps make fang and claw a lower pot but add a DoT to it, and make wheeling hit for 300~310 pot. Not sure what exactly to do to it to change it, but I'd like it to be more than just a lackluster duplicate ability that brings nothing to the job.
They were probably purposefully vague about it lol
I'm anxious to get drg leveled and try it out, see how bad or how overblown it is. I don't like that they count them as 2 new skills, certainly they could've come up with something a bit more creative, but whatevs, is what it is.
it doesnt take up 2 skill slots - macro both into the same button and problem solved.
its actually pretty fun and it's some impressive numbers if the mob doesnt turn like the spinning top at the end of Inception.
Even during solo, we have enough stun skills to hold the mob in position for us to go right in and get the positional damage bonus, not to mention its almost like a permanent damage buff to jumps and its really easy to keep up the buff as long as you keep combo-ing. Furthermore, blood of the dragon is a short enough cooldown so that even if you screw up, it will come back up in no time.
In general I really enjoy it although I reckon with the lvl60 skill the curve will get steeper but I think drg got it good actually.
