It seems it will. If they call based on player's strength, a PC at or below the target mob's rank likely won't call for help.

This looks interesting.
But my first thought was: so if I'm running around and accidentally get toad aggro, the toad might call a buddy to help get me? Just peachy. I am hoping that mobs will only call for reinforcements when you overpower them by quite a lot, like in a party. I suppose that in the future they plan to have solo players fight mobs that are actually around their rank, rather than 5-10 ranks above?
I think it'd be a royal pain to catch "multiple aggro" when running through dangerous places. No big deal for most melees I guess, but it could be an issue for mages.
Suddenly, I am even more excited about the DoL stealth ability! :p . . . can you imagine getting double sticky-tongued into that mess of toads near Bald Knoll? xD
It's not that I'm against the linking idea, I in fact support it. I just find it baffeling to think that somehow the game wants me to make sense of the goblin over yonder somehow cares about the ewe I'm trying to take down with my party.
pretty sure this is first step and later with player feedbacks they will start adjusting which mobs will link or not depending on players argument why it should or should not link. It's easier to put it in for now and make minor changes with mini patches; at least that's my guess.
I sobered up and still agree with Jynx. That's called staying power.
We get plenty of stupid combinations of monsters in Random battles in all other RPGs. I'm happy they're bringing the concept of a random battle back.
