    [Dev 1131] Link system.

    New link system

    * This feature, planned for patch 1.19, is still in development, and therefore subject to change.
    • Patch 1.19 will see the introduction of the enemy link system.
      The enemy link system allows an enemy to call for reinforcements based on the strength of the party that initiated contact with it.
      • Enemies will call for reinforcements under the following conditions:
        • When an enemy detects a player and initiates an attack.
        • When a player initiates an attack on an enemy.
        * Enemies can only call for reinforcements once.
        * If enemies have already formed a group, they will not call for reinforcements, nor will they react to a call from other enemies.
      • How an enemy will call for reinforcements
        • The number of enemies that will be called upon will be based on the comparison of the strength of the party that initiated the attack (or was detected by the enemy) and the strength of the enemy itself.
        • All types of enemies in the vicinity will be called upon regardless of whether or not they are the same type of enemy that made the call.
        * Certain powerful enemies will not react to the call.
        * Only enemies present within a certain distance will be called.
    Personally I don't like the line that states.

    All types of enemies in the vicinity will be called upon regardless of whether or not they are the same type of enemy that made the call.


    Does this mean that a goblin will call to a marmot for help? I don't get it.

    Yes it will if there are marmots around goblins, but this is why there are mob placement adjustments to begin with.

    Think of the way they have been placing mobs.. you don't see that much variety in small areas until you branch out so this sort of makes sense.. I mean if your in an ixali camp your about to get jumped to put it bluntly.. and if your in first area outside of grid your going to get jumped by squirrels.. I think the only issue that will arise from this is the AoE of the actual call, not so much the monster groups.

    So instead of that Aldgoat calling for a billy to defend it...it will call a jellyfish. Makes perfect sense.

    Well, there're already enemies during leves/behest that aren't really related but are in group, and beside the common enemy of mob is the players so why wouldn't they want to group up after you especially if your wiping out their neighbor. Sure that jellyfish probably doesnt care about that goat but why risked it, he might be next.

    i love the bonuses though, i cant wait to rack up a few squirrels and marauder them to death.

    You never know if they decide to put a few vastly outranked non-aggro mobs around to help with the Squirrels. Like a R99 Grizzly Marmot.
