Should Cleric Stance be disabled during Dungeons and Raids?

The only healers who would genuinely stop are the people who fit into your first category. Healers would lose the ability to perform better dps via cleric cleric stance but above person wasn't talking about removing their skills. Although dpsing would seem pointless to remaining healers after the proposed loss of cleric stance, but what else would they do at that point? heal? pshh.

So because you don't want to, nobody else should be able to? This is ridiculous reasoning. Forcing better healers to drop in performance is like forcing smart people to be dumb (a la The Giver), and would accomplish nothing.

Doesn't t9 have echo now? Also people are more geared now, what dps check is hard for t9? The only reason the person made the suggestion was so that you could make up for their own lack of dps. In which case you could say that your shoulders hurt from the carry. On a serious note you just have to be more aware of the people you are grouping with and their expectations, nobody can force you to do something you aren't comfortable with.

Why should I as a dps stun a rogue mob going after a healer and/or burn it down if the tank loses it and can not pick it back up for whatever reason? It's the healer or tanks fault for not managing hate properly, right?

We are all trying to not run out of hp before the objective target does, sometimes under a time limit. Not using the tools given to you when they would be a benefit to "your" play style is silly for all jobs. Just because someone's method to get from A to B if different from your'se does not mean it has to be removed. Likewise if a tool you have has no benefit to "your" play style and the task is still getting done you are well within your rights to decent any greifing. Do not confuse a mechanics issue with a social "well you didn't do it perfict according to me" issue.

Guilty as charged. I can't really understand the mindset of someone who is perfectly content with popping 1 heal on the tank and waiting 5-10 seconds until he has to do it again. This is especially frustrating to me with Scholars since Adlo and Pets give them a huge window to DPS in, along with having a more diverse pool of DPS skills than White Mage. When I heal, there is nothing quite as exiting as holy spamming a huge pile of mobs and casting Benediction on the tank when they're at 100 HP left.

This is ridiculous. I can't stand healers who stand around waiting to heal rather than actively helping the party, and that's the kind of lazy, entitled behavior that would be encouraged by this change.

This whole thread is troll bait. If you want a dumbed-down version of your class, just continue ignoring your tools. If the healing role in this game is too demanding or complex, choose another.

Definitely going to pull 10 mobs next dungeon, unchained, zerk, and do 2, maybe 3 overpowers then afk cuz I have enough threat until the pack dies. Tanks shouldn't be expected to dps. Why should I have to do the dps' job? SE should just make overpower like flash and deal no damage so people can stop hounding me about doing more aoe damage. I'm just a tank, so this way I want have expectations from the player base to do things I'm not comfortable with.

DPSing as a healer isn't a requirement, but rather based on your comfort level with the class. That said, outside of the rare boss or huge pull where you actually do need to be healing constantly, you're either bad, new, or lazy if you don't at least aero/aero II as many mobs as possible. Failing to use Holy during big pulls is also a bad decision, since the AoE stun can save a HUGE amount of damage on the tank.

It didn't originally. But at the time a group of butthurt DPS bitched about WHM being a little too good at rapidly swapping from DD mode to heal mode (literally weaving heals between damage skills) and SE changed it. Funny enough now those same DPS bitch when healers DON'T deal damage now, even though they are responsible for nerfing the safety net and forcing healers to be more conservative.
