Old Weather Animation Graphics - What do you like more in the Old Version of FFXIV?

and i think the ambient sound was way much better, too. you can hear the sand rolling in the air.. which you dont in ARR.


And the weather effects for bad weather is so awful now in my opinion... it does not look real at all..
it looks so cartoonish to me :/

i think the old version has more brillance to it. colors and texture wise. and character details. in my opinion the old version is visually a little more timeless like the new one. Escpecially noscea has some really ugly environments.

i think there you feel that SE had less time for ARR than for the original version.. for visuals. (but concerning this, they of course did a good job for ARR)

Nope character models in 1.0. were indeed far superior over the ARR character models. you havent played 1.0. right? The clothings also have lower texture resolutions. unfortunatley i have no comparison picture for it. but i saw once one good example.

Well maybe a better lightning can do wonders... we also miss bloom effects, unsharpness effects etc (people who dont like it could turn it off).. i myself liked it in FFXIV 1.0. back then.:

But as you can see the character models and their textures were more brillant (and timeless) back then in the old version.
i'd love they bring back some of these brillance with the introduction of DX11 Features.. i wish this really bad..

As much as i love ARR i loved also many parts of 1.0. (especially the atmosphere of the openworld)

Hopefully, the game can make somewhat of a return to its former glorious looks.

What I think is that you are to focused on a silly thing like weather to notice the things that make each area unique and interesting. Why is weather so important to you? Obviously our opinions differ about weather in the game.

When 1.0 was released, the game's graphics were never said to be anything less than impressive. It wasn't enough to save the game from it's many many faults though. The huge areas were bland and uninteresting with one part of the map looking no different from another. It looked as though they just took part of the map and the copy-pasted it a bunch of times to make one large zone.

Never played 1.0 personally so it's very interesting to me to see these videos. I'd agree that the textures, lightning, and in some cases animations were better looking in 1.0. But man, those flat, featureless, monotonous maps. Yikes.

To me ARR looks very very nice 1.0 was very good looking butt was a big mess up and was so broken it almost killed ff online :P so no ty 1.0 SE fixed a full game re made it when they could have said oh well we are done with online games bye

Square enix please drop the ps3 version. Are you really selling that many ps3 copies? :F
