Do you think they will increase Atma drop rate in patch 2.4 prior to any expansion?

I don't remember. I didn't care enough to keep track of the time because it was irrelevant to me. I know that for my first set, I literally just stayed awake until I got all 12 Atma. The second time I farmed it over the course of maybe a month or so just casually doing FATEs here and there during queues sometimes. I'm now 3/12 on a new set, that yet again, I am casually working on here and there. Atma is not as bad as people make it out to be.

No, and I'd rather they did not.

The drop rate isn't really so low that it's unobtainable. As an anecdote, I've gotten 2 sets of Atma, both in less than a week of dedicated farming.
SE also did a 14-hour Atma challenge for a livestream a while back and ended up with 11 Atma.

I think the biggest issue is that the activity itself is boring. But changing that would involve changing the way Atma is obtained completely. (i.e. Not from boring FATEs)

i would never be able to farm atmas for 14 hours straight.

@amused. I agree with you that the system is not broken. It is what it is, and its fine. Or shall I say, it was what it was? anyroad.... You on one hand say that you basically stayed awake until you got 12 atma (whyintheworld?), and then tell people they are doing it wrong because they don't have all 12 yet. Essentially, whether you stay awake for a week or farm 10 minutes a day for 3 months, the results would probably be the same... its purely based on luck. there really is no "doing it right" or "wrong".

after it got released (2.2?) I got one after 2 hours, then took a break from the game as a whole for a month... first day i came back I got 6 atma within 2 hours of each other. Then didn't see another for a week. Got 5 in one day. Its all luck. Nothing else to it.

Despite people's objective to Atma buff, Naoki will likely buff it for all those people who are way behind the curve.　That's been his mandate for the entirety of the game so it'll probably happen that way.　I'm not sure if they'll make it in 2.4 or push it back to 2.48.

I honestly do not think the rate will be changed in 2.4 (which is not too far away). I would agree that maybe a future patch they may adjust it slightly
but because of so much other content i do not think atma was priority.

Regular fates gets increase to 5%
Boss fates increased to 10% - 15%
Super boss fates gets increased to 20% - 30%

its simple: to give them a goal. I am stuck at the atma part of my weapon and after 20 hours of fates i have 1 atma to show, its kinda getting depressing and all I am doing when I log on is atma farming and maybe 1-2 duty roulettes. Thats it. i know the other parts are a grind, but you work on them slowly, and its not only fates, but variety and stuff you do with people. Doing only fates is melting my mind atm and I am really really bored to the point where I am looseing motivation to log in at all. worst part is i am constantly solo on fate grinding, might as well just play a solo-RPG.

On topic: I don't think they would officially state the increase of Atma pieces until patch notes are released. If people know that they'll be increased in a X amount of time, they will stop doing FATEs, and that's something SE doesn't want. Just like it happens with patches and content involving gil. They don't want to announce things that could change the current way it's going. But yes, I eventually feel like they'll increase the rate a bit (around 2.5), to catch up before 3.0 expansion is my guess.

I doubt they will adjust anything regarding the Relic weapon quests (Atma is an extension of that) until they release a weapon that will replace it. Just my opinion. Is it what I want to happen? No.
