The tons of people you see with better weapons than atma, such as soldiary, more than likely skipped atma because better weapons ARE available that take significantly less time and don't leave you on your knees praying to the rng gods.

I see MORE Atma+ than Sol. MORE, not LESS

I own an Unweatherd and a Novus, as well as a few Ramuh weapons. I am going to do more Atma farming for a second Novus in the future, and I have another Tome for a second Sol weapon (yay Sol cap). So its not like I haven't gone through all the options.

With how atma was scrutinized and researched and overly farmed upon release, if there were any true gimmick to it, it would have been confirmed by now.

Ditto on what Daemon said. Atma has been out since March. The internet would have found the secret trick at least a month or two later, not towards the end of the year.

So did he get all 12 Atma?

He got 11 out of almost 300 fates in 15 hours. So around a 3% droprate?

Several others did the marathon together with him on NicoVid, some got 12, one guy got only one, other people were somewhere in between.
RNG is RNG.

The very first time Yoshida openly said that Atma drops were pure RNG was back during the Tokyo Super FATE even early in the year, not long after 2.2 was realised. He even called the clock theory occultish nonsense. Since then, he has also mentioned several times in several interviews over the past half a year that that Atma is pure luck.

If it's pure luck then they need to bring back the Luck stat from 1.0 so I can dump all my points into it.

Except that Yoshida has gone on to say, multiple times, that the RNG for Atma drops is pure luck. Not to mention, one of the forum CMs did post a message from the guy who deals with the algorithms in the game. The gist of the post was that Final Fantasy XIV uses a pure RNG algorithm. So how much Atma you get is based upon sheer luck, pure and simple.

I am 7/12 of the Atma I need for my Black Mage relic (I'll be doing this again for Summoner, Bard, Monk, Dragoon and Ninja *when available*). I got the Atma of the Scorpion within an hour of farming FATEs in Southern Thanalan. One member of my FC STILL requires that particular Atma and that is with farming FATEs for a few hours here and there over the past couple of weeks.

There is no magic solution that improves Atma drop rates. It is random.

Bad game design that punishes players who want to enjoy the game and not play rat-race every three months when a new piece of broken content comes out.
