really? i always StoneSkin the ot when i can cause, he has a debuff, so i probably use like 30 StS on that fight, so, and using 2 lustrates when sch can only use 3, well, i dont know why he was wiping u, maybe he wasnt doing adlos on the other tank? didnt use sacred soil? maybe he wasnt healing ot with the pet, could be another thing
Those mobs hit hard and have a lot of HP! Even a super geared tank will drop fast if they aren't using CDs properly to help out Super Scholar. You know, the one who is full i110 and has 4 stacks of aetherflow. With your stated gear level it just isn't happening.
However, the best way to handle big pulls was to do everything you did and use shadow flare. Hopefully your tank pops CD next time and the mobs die fast enough those CDs don't run out.
As for your tank who mains scholar... He spams adlo... Wut? What good does it do when your previously one is still up? He's going to spend most of the time getting 400 HP heals rather than 1000 HP heals than cost less mana. As for his tanking, if that shield is getting knocked off every gcd he most certainly did not have a CD up.
For large enough pulls, chain-Adlo works.
Chain Adloing is the best single target hps outside of lustrate if the tank takes damage quickly enough to knock down the shield between each casts. This usually means big pulls (so the different mobs will stagger their attacks and provide a constant flow of damage), or mobs with much quicker attack speeds than are normally seen in this game.
A SCH should only very rarely cast stoneskin in combat. It's really only useful for buffering targets already at max hp, since if they are missing almost any amount of life, Adlo or Physick will be better, and it takes a while to cast so the hps is even worse than the raw healing numbers. Basically it's for fights with large scripted downtimes, and those tend to feature a second healer (probably a WHM who can stoneskin more effectively).
I know exactly what defiance does but having less defense means he's losing that hp faster then a pld would. Again I'm speaking from experience not what other people say on the internet

But since this seems to keep going over people's head, let me explain again.
There are more bad wars out there then bad plds. Denying that is saying that war is just as easy to play effectively as pld and that's simply not true. I play with too many wars who do not, do NOT, know how to play effectively. And it's possible that the problem is not the op healing but the tank
They don't have less defense though. At all. Do we need to do math?

Physick: 1000 (1200 to warrior)
Damage taken: 500/hit
Paladin: 7000 HP
Warrior: 7000 HP * 1.25 = 8750
Paladin takes damage from 6 enemies.
7000 - (500 * 0.8) *6 = 7000 - 2400 = 4600/7000 HP remaining (65.7%)
Warrior takes damage from 6 enemies.
8750 - 500*6 = 5750/8750 HP remaining (65.7%)
Physick gives 14% max HP back to the paladin, 14% max HP back to the Warrior.
