I did pentrameld 4 of them and I'm including the cost to get the master books and buying pre-made NQ/HQ mats to do the crafts for the new tools. At 2.2 market prices mostly....

And...highest crafting lv at lv30, seriously? 3-star will never be ur concern before 4-star is out.
You are just acting like what u would do if you are Bill Gates when you can make enough to support ur family in real life and complain about the big companies selling their products for too high. I am sure you hate Apple too? No offense, I apologize if this makes u feel bad or uncomfortable.
I wonder there are more sellers using "wish list" than buyers, so actually the wish list should be "wish(to sell)list" ^^'
No offense taken. I mentioned before that I've previously been lazy about crafting, though glamours has become more of a motivation (at least in the sense that I'd rather simply make my own glamour prisms/gear than pay more than I feel - and mind you, that's my opinion - the item is worth.) To be honest, 3 star crafts are not a concern for me because I'm not there yet, and I have little reason to rush (because then what?).
I do understand that crafting at that level becomes pretty expensive, and for that same reason, you'd want to sell high to recover the expenses incurred in the crafting of your product. I feel that the problem lies both in greedy pricings for the items needed (assuming they can't be found, or are rare/expensive to begin with) and diminishing returns regardless. It's not easy to craft high level items, and it doesn't seem to get any easier as you progress. I sympathize. I really do. But I don't treat every item crafted by me like a masterwork that deserves a high price. Nor do I expect to get rich from crafting, especially given the many other ways I can earn gil. But that's just me.
Arbitrary numbers and trends aside, all I'd really want is essentially an in-game MSRP. Sure, some might complain that under the current crafting/market model, the time and money invested would not be worth the profit earned. (And perhaps a review and overhaul are in order then?) But it WOULD effectively stop gross overpricing and undercutting, and in a sense boost sales.
For sure, i haven't heard about people happy about the way the market and its price are working currently. Buyer and sale are fully unhappy with the way it work. I really think Square and the production team of this game must take that as a serious problem and find a way to fix it.
FYI I am happy about the way the market and its price are working currently, at least I don't need to save gil hardly for buying something that is mandatory. ^^;
i like the invisible hand... its at least level 38.
I am all for maximum and minimum amounts for certain items and their item level, there should be a good variation though 20%.
Way too often people are destroying the market, yes supply and demand will change the price, but not by a huge margin.
This will be a great way to defeat RMT from cornering the market as well, unlikely SE will put the time and effort into fixing it though.
Manipulating the market so crafters flood the market is hardly a good idea, in fact it prob does more harm than good.
Then people need to be smarter and not sell them in stacks of 99 right ?
I'm on goblin too! There is no supply. I can explain why a HQ ilv 90 robe costs 1,000,000.
You need 3 Tawny Latex to make 1 terminus putty. There are just a few Tawny Latex posted on the market board for 50k each. Terminus putty is required for just about every ilv90 item. It's very hard to HQ terminus putty. It's very hard to HQ ilv90 items without HQ mats. So I spent 150k to make NQ terminus putty. Cashmere fleece was also selling for 50k. The robe requires 2 cashmere cloth, and 2 terminus putty.
Sell me 3 tawny latex for 50gil each, and I'll give you terminus putty for 200gil. Sell me 3 tawny latex for 50,0000 each, and I'll give you terminus putty for 197,693 (or whatever mine is listed at currently).
-To get the Alc tool required 50 spirits of salt, which required 100 HQ volcanic rock salt - which are selling for 2,500 each (2,500 X 100 = 250,000), if you HQ 100% of the time - which you don't.
-To get the Wvr tool requires 50 silver brocade, which requires 200 crawler cocoons, 300 silver ore, and a mountain of shards and time.
The supply of everything you need is low. The time it would take to gather all the tomes, seals, raw materials and shards is extensive. The cost of those materails is high. The cost of the final products reflects the supply, time, and cost of materials.
