If you do leves from Rank 10 it takes about 2hrs to hit rank 20 (you literally get 1000-2000sp a kill at the rank 10 camp on a triple link). So I would say it is way way to fast, but I feel it is balanced out somewhat by the later levels which slow down considerably.
Is 1-20 Too fast?

did you guys consider that classes in ffxiv are not the same as jobs in ffxi? Or classes in other mmo. Minus set skills, classes are not really seperated. You level each to earn skills to custom make a class. Pretty much only seperation is the weapon or tool. Think of ranks similar to skills in ffxi.
(reason for lack o milestones etc)
Personaly speaking, they are decent. Not to fast not to slow. Noted in ffxi leveling to 10 didn't take long at all 3 hours most. And this was before fov pages and the exp increase. It was also boring as heck because you HAD to solo it. With the exp boost and fov pages it is quicker. Honestly, only reason 1-20 feels fast is your leveling from levequests using the guardian aspect. Leveling outside of levequests takes longer.
It could be worst, it could be like DCUO and it take 3 days to hit max. Or like the upcoming game "The Secret World" and not have any levels or classes. -

The way I look at it is, we are at 50 atm. If the curve continues when they raise the level cap to say 75 like in FFXI. Although the beginning will breeze, 40-75 will be a nightmare climb, and honestly will probably have to be lowered if it is like it is in XI.
It did not take all that long to get to 50 in XI either. -

05-17-2011, 05:01 PMDeadRiserDon't get me wrong, I liked a lot of the grinding we did. There were tons of people playing and you could always find a party. Leves weren't the best thing to do then. Now ranking up is a complete joke, seriously. I don't like doing the same leves. I know, it sounds hypocritcal since I like grinding, but leves are overated to me. I like to go out and explore, especially when mp wasn't unlimited. You would go far from camp, knowing not to use up all your mp and people were actually exploring. Now you only see people in Ul'dah and those other two camps /telling for the endless sp leves. IDK just personal opinion I guessQuote:

Without leves you can go and actually explore the world, I really think most people forget The Uldah areas are only 1 Region in the game.
But that is me, I see the Leves as nothing more then an endless grind no different then going out on our own. I like how they are group based, but they just are not as fun to me as going out and controlling what I kill and my own rate of sp in my groups. -

1~50 is 1,782,150 SP total.
Conclusion: 1~20 is nowhere near 1/3 of the cap. -
