Personally; I would like to be able to make the chat font smaller. Even with a 1980x1200 display, having 4 chat panes up the side of the screen takes up a lot of real estate at 12 point sizing.
Please allow us to use certain pet commands like heel while mounted.
Hello!
As the gear designers know, Coliseum gear remains pretty popular. I wanted to know if there were plans on adding more sexy gear to the game maybe even to the endgame?
Allagan Bustiers, Subligars, Spike heeled boots? :3
(Allagan gear is awesome btw. I'm very impressed with the caster gear and the detail on the tank gear is amazing. Please pass on my happiness to them!)
Camate, can you please pass on my desperate pleas for the team to reconsider the importance of the chat background transparency slider? I don't think you realize how much physical distress the mostly transparent chat box is causing some of us. I can't read chat unless it's night time or I'm in a dark, shadowy cave. Brushing this off as non-important is extremely disheartening to those of us experiencing very real problems due to its design.
A few things. multiple posts, etc.
Can it be arranged so that the A/Cross button on a controller specifically adheres to target modes. i.e: party mode is set, player would not be able to target enemies or NPCs at all.
Would it be possible to add a feature to disable R1/L1 target shifting on the controller scheme?
Can a more open controller button config be added, allowing the use of any key for any option including having an option for a button being a blank slot and actions not normally on a controller: i.e: remove "change hotbar set" from R1 and either leave it blank or place mount chocobo or some other action on that button.
Can we get an alternate controller UI similar to that of FFXI or FFXIV 1.0 that involves scrolling across a 10slot bar and hitting up/down on the D-pad to change the bar, and L2/R2 activate two other hidden bars like ALT/CTRL macro bars in XI, leaving all targeting to left/right?
AND FINALLY FOR SOMETHING NON CONTROLLER RELATED:
Can there be a toggle feature to have the party list load from the bottom to top so it doesn't look out of place with a party of four if a player has their party list located on the bottom of the screen.
I add my vote to be bale to darken the log's back round. Right now it's very hard to read the text on it unless you angle the camera in the right way so something dark is behind the chat log.
1. Can you let us set a stance permanently for companion and pets? At the moment it is tedious micromanaging stances which keep resetting during gameplay or when you resummon.
2. I find it a bit -clumsy- that quickpressing R1 changes to the pet crossbar. I would rather have the pet crossbar appear if you hold downL1+R1.L2+R2
3. We can move through crossbar sets quickpressing R1, and holding down R1 to choose a set; but I would like to quickpress L1 to move through crossbar sets in reverse order
4. I would like to macro pet abilities.
5. In addition to point (4) above, can we have "intelligent" crossbar slots if we place pet actions on our own crossbar/hotbar. Say I have Eos summoned and I have all 4 abilities on my crossbar, when I dismiss Eos and summon Selene those 4 slots should change to Selene's abilities. People may say you can just switch to the pet crossbar, but I like to condense things as much as possible so more time is spent using the actions than on fiddling with the controls. In the heat of the moment a clumsy erratic action can cause a wipe!
It's hard to read through 1,100 post of request... But if it's not been said please:
/readycheck
/countdown
These cause no harm whatsoever to anyone and could only be a good thing. No one has any merit to say this would hinder thier game experience. 100% only good, please add it.
So, I know Yoshida has mentioned in at least one interview, that they are considering adding a Goobbue mount for non-legacy players, that is slightly different from the legacy version.
Let me just give my support to this idea. I would absolutely love to see a mount like this in ARR. I wasn't able to retrieve my legacy account for use in the new game, and so I am really missing my goobbue buddy.
If this could be implemented, whether it be paid or for anyone, I would be extremely excited to see this type of mount. I'm not entirely sure how to get the ball rolling on this, or if this is even the proper place for this suggestion, but let's try to get this noticed by the devs!
:D
not sure if these requests will get lost in here but here goes...
1. remove the ability to trade gil. maybe only allow gil to be passed to those that do melds for you but put a cap of 1000 per meld. (buh-bye gil sellers)
2. cap the amount you can sell allagan tokens on MB to their actual value. (buh-bye gil sellers)
3. randomize the location of farm-ables on the list that pops up. (ie. place shards in different slots when mining so those damn bots might get much more unsellable items while doing their crooked deeds)
4. allow the option to remove R3/L3. too many titan runs where i would get too excited and hit them by mistake. if you ever have done this, then you know what happens :(
5. ?maybe? disable the ability to sell shards on the MB, but instead allow them to be purchased through NPC's or trade in seals @ GC (yep, bots -_-)
6. advertise server-first accomplishments by decorating areas in between holidays with the FC's symbols for all to see
For those who play on the gamepad, possibly allow an option in the system (kind of like legacy camera) to choose to be able to place aoe abilities such as freeze, shadowflare, and even pet placement with the mouse. (Not just with the fixed position in gamepad mode by moving the camera). Having to reposition your camera to place any of these abilities is very dangerous, especially when dodging moves from monsters.
While being able to adjust the transparency of the chat box would be great, I really don't think it's nearly as grave a situation as you are making it out to be. Either something is very wrong with your eyes, or you need to adjust your monitor, because neither I nor anyone I know playing the game has any issue reading the chat box at all.
They also said it wasn't a top priority in their UI tweaks and not something that'd be up for 2.1. However, this is something that causes me and others physical pain. It damn well better be a top priority for UI design.
Yes, thank you for pointing out my disability. I'm sorry I can't see fine details as well as many players (especially when those details - the lettering in the chat box - are obscured by even more varied color details in the background that are not that distinguished in palette than the colors options for the chat), but that doesn't mean I should have to suffer through near-migraines just to read the chat box.
Not sure if anyone has suggested having all the bags open at once to make organizing easier. Just a button for this who wish to see all bags. To To clarify, not an option to open all bags on retainers and person just one at each storage to see all spaces. Thank you.
I have tested it right now.
If you have gamepad mode on, than you can't move the circle with a real (PC) mouse without moving also the camera. But if you switch with your gamepad in the Gamepad/Mouse mode (L1+R3), then you can move it with the right analogstick without that you move the camera. L2 work then as the left mouse button.
I'm curious what changed; this feature was originally advertised for beta phase 4. Complete radio silence from the devs until now.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's coming, but the total change in plans on this one without any acknowledgement has been pretty weird.
Proof of this? This Camate post is the first ive heard of such an idea.Quote:

Is it possible to implement a Roleplay tag on/off like in other MMOs? Just like how /afk has a chair next to the name, RP could have something similar. Would be handy.
All I can say is there was a post on 03/05/13 about this one, post was on beta forums and it's closed so we can't check what was posted then.
Before people ask... How do I have the date then? I have a full list of unofficial translations I did with links to those threads (Stuff I call OP list on my thread) so I have the date and short description of the dev/rep post but I don't know the details of the translation I did or what the original text showed. Can't remember all the stuff I translated... lol + it's Beta stuff so it's under NDA anyways so even if I had a copy of the original, unofficially translated info. I wouldn't be able to release any info from back then I think.
So how far along is 2.2 exactly that you feel you are unable to add more to it(if we follow the whole 3 month cycle it's atleast 4 months away)? Because by the sound of it you've been adding more and more onto 2.1 within the last few weeks and that's known to be out in December. This isn't a huge change either so it's a farcry to say it would take a while to implement, especially when something like this has been talked about since beta.
If it's far enough along that even small changes can't be added to it I don't understand why it will be another 4+ months until we see it.
Not quite sure if this fits this thread, but I think it would be nice if the Auto-translate feature had some degree of search/filtering functionality.
This might work like so:
Start chat input.
Open Auto-translate popup.
Type in terms. As terms are entered, the Auto-translate popup would enter a sub-menu, like the normal Auto-translate sub-menus, except that it would populate its pages of phrases dynamically based on what phrases match part of the terms entered.
One could then navigate the sub-menu's pages and select the desired phrase in the same manner as other Auto-translate sub-menus, or, as usual, press Escape/cancel to return to the main Auto-translate menu.
In terms of how matching is done, I think it would be best to ignore the order terms are entered in; also, case should be ignored.
I'm not sure if it's best to add any phrase that matches any term to the dynamic menu, or only those that match all terms; the former is better if you aren't sure what you're looking for, the latter if you are.
Of course, this matching would have to take into account the client's language or it won't be matching anything useful.
So if I started typing: "th y"
As soon as I typed 't', the Auto-translate menu would enter its dynamic submenu and populate with phrases containing 't'.
As I typed 'h', it would repopulate the menu with phrases containing "th"
Whitespace would end the current term and start a new one, so 'y' would be a new term. Thus the menu would populate with any phrases matching those terms (whether both or either term, I'm not sure).
So rather than trying to remember that I have to hit 2, right arrow and 7 to say "Thank you", I can just type "th y" and select from far fewer options. If I don't mind typing, I could just type "Thank you" and select what is probably the one remaining option.
Maybe it's just me, but I think this would be very convenient.
On windows version you can just type h and then push tab and you get everything with a h, if you type he and then tab, you get everything with he.
I use auto translate often, to type fast.
Spaces don't work in this.
With teleports I always pop up map and see what the name is for the area that is closest where I must be. (Well I did a lot, now I know most out of my head)
While I would like that this will be done better, I find it pretty unimportant, since with map it works pretty well, I prefer they focus first on other things, before adding little useful things.
(Don't get me wrong, I do want it also, but I don't find it a high priority)
I would love the teleport menu to just say the guild name it goes to...(some cities have this)
The gates to say: Yellow Serpent Gate (North Shroud)
Camps to say: Fallgourd Float (North Shroud)
This would be very helpful and take way less time then the map which could come 2.2 This could be put in easy. I thought they were going to fix Limsa with its messed up telenames.
just a an idea.
remove opening the context menu via X button. really no need to have two different buttons capable of the same functionality. just IMO though.
maybe use the X button for Focus Target. maybe make it so you hold it for like 2-3 seconds to set your Focus Target. and then probably same with Circle to cancel the Focus Target. to make it easier you should only have to highlight and not have to fully select the target to set. and should not have to highlight/select the target to cancel. if possible this seems ideal?
also for the Square button. maybe do the same thing for the context menu. hold it for like 2seconds. or make a L1 key modifier for the context menu. basically what i am getting at here is that it would be nice to be able to open the map. to be able to open the map while a player is highlighted/selected without have to de-select them.
the map thing probably is not very essential. but it would be nice to be able to do. any player using a keyboard/mouse can do it.
Waiting half a year to get basic teleportation conveniences that have existed for years in other games. Sounds legit.
