I was running Mt. Gulg the other night and had a dragoon in my party. He kept eating AoEs so our white mage said, "Hey man, you good?" to which he replied, "I'm off 3 perc" and I still don't know if he was good or not.

I'm one such follow the Trust member, especially Y'shtola.
But if I went into Trials queue with a maxed level class, I'd at least watch a guide for the Endwalker trials before queuing or while waiting for the queue to pop if on DPS.
I require multiple runs to learn mechanics, so the one in the Trust usually isn't enough to cement much into muscle memory. But I do eventually learn the mechanics of the fights I get frequently in roulettes.
Oh, apparently it did. I don't remember seeing anyone ever use it.
Anyways, I finally got all my healers and tanks to 90 :c RIP instant queues and now I must watch the horrors as a dps. Already seen some horrors so far with today's roulettes as a healer attempted to have me vote kicked for explaining what Esuna was(more like I suggested and explained what it did, and yes I did it kindly, threw in a smiley to make it seem less serious and all).
Also had a beautiful Crown of the Immaculate where both healers died and the Summoners and Healers juggled res's through the entire fight. Eventually one of them had to pop a LB3. I did die eventually due to party wide damage slowly racking while while the healers were both nomming dirt but I stayed alive for 90% of the fight. Think I was the only person to only die once the entire fight.
Did E5N in raid roulette.
Death after death after death from just about everyone, myself included. Almost fully wiped a few times, we were down to 3 quite often.
Still killed it. Was *amusing*.
I like when someone is all like '' I am tired of wiping this is last pull for me '', then they cause the wipe and just leave lol.
Happened in P4S again, they ran to the wrong side on Act 3 to soak the wrong towers ( RDM, ran to melee side ).
I get it if you haven't been screwing up the other pulls and they didn't, everyone makes mistakes.
But it's certainly a bit funny lel.
Seeing more of these nerfed leveling dungeons lately, so it's almost like my first time in them. One of my partymembers was like "hey you don't need to use return anymore" in Haukke Manor. I also tried tanking the last boss like old.. For some reason, I feel so old.
Alright. I have no idea what is wrong with people today, but I just got dismissed from frontline. Out of nowhere. I guess people were mad, we were losing pretty badly, and I was the target to take it out on?
I died ONE TIME in a team fight. One time. So while respawning I tabbed out for all of SECONDS to chat a message to a friend on discord, then I tabbed back into the game got on my mount, and started heading to the next objective, while moving I was dismissed. Again, SECONDS. It couldn't have been more than 10-20 (probably not even) seconds MAX the time I was standing in spawn. I was COMPLETELY active prior to this, I was healing people, I was attacking enemy players, trying to hold objectives, etc.. WHY?! All I did was send one message on discord while respawning!!
There's NO WAY it was 2 minutes. Plus I was on my big gold saucer mount running towards an objective, so how could I have been afk kicked? This was between the time it gave me the respawn timer.
I'm at post cap.
Got into another one, people told me I had probably been kicked. Also, we won. So decent trade regardless.
The afk timer states in chat that you are afk and will be dismissed. I was kicked.
Vote dismiss is uncommon for sure, but in PvP I’ve never seen the vote failing when initiated. Probably because people do want to win & weed out the leecher/deadweight.
It's ridiculous tbh. I've seen votekicks happen, and especially if people are just generally mad, they will just auto accept whatever is up. This was especially prevalent when things like Orbonne first came out. Also, I wasn't a "leecher" or "dead weight", it's ridiculous. If I am on my white mage, I generally score quite high when I sort it out. So annoying. I don't even like frontline.. I have only been doing it to kill time, and hopefully occasionally get a win so in ten years I can get the horse mount.
I didn't think you were, but just in case others thought I was. It's like I said in my post I died once, then I immediately tabbed out and sent a message to a friend, tabbed back in, got on my giant gold saucer mount... which makes it even more ridiculous, because if anyone was around they'd DEFINITELY see me moving to the objective, and then I was dismissed.
Ran Deltascape 4.0 with my alt, got to the 2nd Decisive Battle mech and I was the only one on the safe spot. Everyone else died except me and the 2 tanks. Exdeath was around 4% then. I got the stack marker afterwards and I died. The 2 tanks got him thank goodness but...
I could've raised the healers. I forgot I had Verraise since I was playing as RDM. /facepalm It took me a couple of roulettes after that till I realized I could've Raised everyone.
Off to bed I go.
Early morning p4 normal. We struggled so much we got lb3 twice. Stole it both times. At least I stopped confusing "Pinnax" variations...
Made an alt on Midgardsormr to play with the Road to 80 buff. Doing nothing extra beyond class hunting log, I'm averaging about 18 levels above where I should be. Had a "helpful" mentor yelling at me in Copperbell that I should've gotten my job stone already, but...y'know, sprout, and it's locked another dozen or so quests later. And the run was still under ten minutes, because it's friggin' Copperbell and both DPS had their AoE skills, so I didn't bother to stop pulling until I hit a wall or a boss door.
Nothing like your average heal darling wearing a skimpy white dyed outfit and spamming Cure in Bardam's Mettle.
Amon in crystal tower starts casting curtain call, myself and everyone else behind ice blocks. Bard in my group...OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF BFE DPSING!!! 5 seconds to curtain call cast completes, so I decided to help this tunnel visioned dps happy bard. I hit rescue and pull their button mashing happy rear over behind the ice block.
We had some struggles in Ultima Unreal. The crappy tank with the ultimate weapon earned the title "Paypal Legend" :D
Zodiark. It's always Zodiark.
While I feel super good about the fight at this point, the last time I got it during roulette we wiped one time due to both healers(who were also both mentors) forgetting that the stack marker has multiple hits. They both just kind of let us all die.
"That website" shows you being hard carried by your groups today and your tanks doing reasonably well with far less experience on that fight than you. Just saying.
The petty Legend bashing from people who are actually contributing far less to their groups gets old.
It was the other legend tank that made up the title. It's not my fault so many of those people I run into don't know how to do normal content.
You call me petty, yet there you are claiming I was carried while healing? You weren't there, so you really have no place to comment.
Do you mean https://www.fflogs.com/ ? Go to https://www.fflogs.com/ to be a presumptuous sack.
btw, Thank you for alerting me to this. I know exactly who ran this.
If you're going to call people out for being bad most people don't want to hear it from a person who didn't exactly pull their weight in the same run lol.
And I get it -- it's just easy to slam the other person when you think you're doing well and it sucks to be called out. But as my mate said when I healed savage for the first time a couple weeks back, ain't nothing but the hard truth to help you learn. I'm not trying to knock you btw - I have pretty bad logs (although I barely run savage/ultimate content, I want to learn and improve though) - I'm happy to share my SCH logs from the recent savage runs I have done lol. It went from, "Padudu, press some goddamn buttons" to "Hey, you pressed some buttons and pulled some weight! Good work".
Either way, I wouldn't defensive over it. Shit happens, Liam has kinda kicked my butt over it too in the past and I took a good look at myself after that. :P I'm still not great, but I've gotten way better at being more ok with criticism and so on, so forth. It's fun getting to see yourself pull some weight overall, I wouldn't take it too personally.
Again, I was just relaying commentary that gave me a laugh. This is supposed to be a thread for some simple venting. If I created a new thread about it, then I could see getting into an argument.
Liam clearly wants a fight. I'll get defensive if I want. I'm not gonna sit here and be judged by someone who wasn't even there. I've had to deal with worse people that were actually present and just wanted to bully through the use of logs without actually trying to help me get better. I'm tired of hearing about numbers. They don't mean a damn thing when people are screwing up mechanics.
Me on my catboi alt as an AST. Castrum Meridianum via roulette. Got paired with a possibly YPYT-tank.
When the barrier drops, we all sprint forward. The WAR however stops at the first pack. Just spamming their 1-2 aoe rotation. Meanwhile I was a bit far ahead with two other DPSes (RPR and RDM) who presumably at moment also wants wall pulls. We wiggled about a bit but still no response from the WAR. RPR immediately turn around to aggro the 2nd pack. WAR picks them up then we burn both packs effortlessly.
Next pull before first boss, again, the WAR stick to first pull. This time RDM pulled. At first aggro were mostly on WAR. But as we mow down the pack, I noticed at least a couple of mob’s enmity are pingpong’ing. Not an issue though, everything hits like wet noodle. Fast forward to after first boss, it became apparent that the WAR possibly tried to ‘punish’ the puller. Knowing the two DPSes craved for walls still, I just ran forward and pull everything. Aggro pingpong’ed a while but nothing like an additional cast of Asp.Helioses can’t fix. Nice knowing there’s something else to do other than just spamming gravities majority of time.
At 2nd boss and onward the WAR purposely eats all the red carpets like cookies. They even went as far as running toward a proximity marker. But heh y’know what WAR? Blame the dungeon for hitting you like wet noodles. Came out of dungeon w/ comms. I personally believe that came from both DPSes.
I also enjoyed letting his health drop so low he finally pop those Vengeance and Rampart at really low health when he’s actually tanking something! ;)
As a Scholar main; if you want to genuinely improve, you should look at your logs because there's a lot of fundamentals you are lacking on a basic level. Ultimate Legends screwing up mechanics aren't the reason for your logs looking the way they do - while a healer's parse is affected by the quality of the groups they run with, when everyone else is doing so much better than you, the group isn't the problem.
You'll probably take this as an attack, but it's genuinely not, I just really like talking about Scholar (which is why like 95% of my posts are specifically about it) - you don't have to listen to this advice at all but if you do your gameplay will improve and you will be a much better Scholar for it.
You don't use Ruin II at all - while it is optimal to never use it, using Ruin II is better than just not casting at all or canceling Broil IV casts to move. If you need to move more than slidecasting and your weave window allow, use Ruin II. If you need to weave more than 1 oGCD, use Ruin II (not optimal or recommended generally, but if you're having to focus on healing, do it)- you have weave issues where you're using 2-3 oGCD heals between Broil casts. You can also refresh Biolysis at 15s or lower if you need to move as well, as 15s is where its worth more than a Broil IV cast potency wise. Obviously you want the full amount (refreshing Bio at 3s) for the full 700 potency, but if you need to move/weave 2 heals and you can use Bio for that at 15s or lower, it's not a DPS loss like Ruin II is. In a way, Ruin II makes Scholar the most mobile of the healers in unoptimized environments as you're always going to be able to be doing damage while handling mechanics/moving, and the 75 potency loss per Ruin II over Broil IV is much better than the full 295 loss of not casting anything at all, so make sure you're using it over nothing at all.
You have low uptime on Biolysis; you need to make sure you're constantly keeping uptime on your DoT, a good part of your damage comes from it and the more you keep your DoT ticking the less over all damage loss using GCD heals like Succor and Adloquium are over the course of the fight.
You're letting Aetherflow drift over the course of the fight, resulting in lost healing that you're having to cover with Succor/Adlo and lost damage from not using Energy Drain, which you didn't use at all during the fight. It's easier to treat Energy Drain as a stack dump rather than a purely offensive tool; get into the habit of using Aetherflow on cooldown and if you have any stacks before it's about to be off CD again, use Energy Drain to dump them. Every Succor you used could've been covered by Indomitability or Sacred Soil; etc. It is less of a DPS loss to use Aetherflow heals first, so ensuring that Aetherflow doesn't drift is the best way to make sure you can heal as much as possible before dipping into GCD heals. Keeping Aetherflow on CD is basically the most key mechanic of Scholar; it is central to your MP economy and how you heal, so be sure to focus on making sure it drifts as little as possible.
You're also not using Recitation, Seraph or Expedient nearly enough; Recitation is 90s and Seraph and Expedient are 120s, you should use them fairly liberally, Recitation especially should be used to cover healing as much as possible, Recit Indom or Excog are cracked and heal a lot. I know it can feel like you need to save Seraph/Expedient for when they would work best (I find myself doing this a lot) but it's better to use them a lot and then hone in on the best usage per fight rather than just saving them and only getting 1 use per fight. Always aim to get 2 uses of Consolation from every Summon Seraph; I like to preshield large raidwides with the first, and then heal up the damage with the second Consolation. There's no reason to ever not use both as they will both be available the next time you can Summon Seraph. Expedient sometimes feels like you should use it for the sprint and so a lot of Scholars hold it in anticipation for a mechanic that might be useful, but it's also 20s of 10% mitigation, so using it to mitigate more than using it for the sprint can give you the most mileage out of it.
Also Whispering Dawn should be used as much as possible, the regen is great and it and Fey blessing should always be your bread and butter heals on Scholar first before dipping into Aetherflow. Your healing priority on Scholar is basically Protraction>Faerie Healers>Aetherflow Heals>GCD heals so try to minimize your GCDs as much as possible.
Anyways I won't derail this thread further, but if you want to talk about how to get better at Scholar or healers in general feel free to make a thread on the healer forum and myself and many healers who are better than I would love to help.
