So seriously what food do you guys eat lol
Yes, you will. The HQ Draconian Strength potion is +100 (108 is the actual cap I think) strength, which is huge. In practice, though, if you're not doing high-level raiding you can get by fine without them, or with using cheaper potions. I use mine in progression (not doing savage alex yet as my previous static is now defunct, but I used them in fcob/t9), but once I had things on farm I'd use the lower-quality ones or try and get by without them. But from what my FC is saying, the DPS check on Faust in A1S is pretty insane, so you'll definitely need all the help you can get there.
I was using potions but after 10 hours straight I ran out. I'm Stocked again, I'll let you know what my dps is with them. (If you're taking your add to a missile near the boss after resin you have a second or two to hit the boss and add with Geirskogul before laser.)
For foods, looks like Morel Salad is probably the best choice. If you need a little accuracy, Baked Pipira Pira is good, if you need skill speed, probably Cockatrice Meatballs, although Deep Fried Okeanis is also viable.
If you optimize for being 40ish accuracy below cap, Urchin Loaf is good.
Since -10% STR/INT from Dragon Kick/Virus is considered a -10% Damage output during things like T13 etc, is it safe to assume +100ish STR from Draconion Potion HQ when we have about 1000 base STR is approximately a 10% damage increase for those 15 seconds?
For the raiding DRGs out there, do you guys have any tips for optimizing in A1S Opressor?
I'm currently ranging between 930-940 DPS and I'm not satisfied at all, still far too low. The biggest issue I have is concerning the Alarum adds... Boss rotation goes Emergency Deployment > Resin Bomb > Huge laser. For one, I need to wait until Resin drops to go to my laser, and if it's in a bad spot, I have to move YET AGAIN to dodge the boss aoe, then go back to my laser and kill the add. I feel this takes me forever to do, and to top it off I can't hit positionals on the add at all. It doesn't get much better from there as Opressor immediately repeat that rotation after the first jump.
I'm thinking about trying to grab my add with a Geirskogul and keep full uptime on the boss until big laser goes off, but I don't know... That could be risky if I don't kill my add in time.
I ve been finishing my combo on the Oppressor because Im usually on the fourth part of my combo when the adds come out (refresh dat BotD). I then Phelb the add because I know I will be moving and the dots still tick. While Resin is happening and the add is catching up with me I'll throw a spear or two, refresh HT when it gets to me, start my combo TTT4 combo, and that is usually enough to kill it. If I am lined up properly, I'll sometimes throw Geirk in as the last hit.
In my group, me and my tank always stack for resin on the left side of the boss within melee range. As it's already expected, what I do is hit my add once as it spawns and move to where we'll stack, stil hiting the boss, só I wont kill my add too soon. As soon the resin AoE goes off, I'll just move to the laser, plenty of time to kill the add. Everything is just fast and clean, and I stil have one flank and the boss rear to hit positionals. The only exception is when the laser spawn right where we usually stack. In that case, we stack on the right side of the boss for resin.
% damage output goes in a different spot than the +100 STR. In the case of Heavy Thrust vs a potion for instance, basically the difference is something like:
(((WD * somemultiplier) + ((STR +100 from potion) * somemultiplier) * SOME MATH) * 1.15 from Heavy Thrust) * more math.... = damage
NOTE: Not the actual calculations. Just an example obviously for effect
I know that going weapon first for new tomes is always the way to go. But being as i'll be all 190 save for chest piece and one ring, i'm so tempted to go with the 200 chest piece, and go after the weapon next round, just so I have even more of a boost for A1S tonight. Is that worth it, or should I still just be patient and get the weapon next week?
The thing people need to keep in mind is that increasing ilvl does not necessarily result in higher gains. You need to consider the stat weights and Weapon Damage blows every stat away. The weapon will most likely be the biggest increase for you.
Take a look at the pieces you are interested and use the current stat weights to calculate which will be the biggest bang for your tomes.
Get weapon, or you'll have a bad time.
Hnnnnnngh~! The temptation. Seeing everything 190 cept for my chest... and then seeing that pretty lil dragoon body. Damn it, tho I know you guys are right.
Hello, so erm yeah, I guess this is my second time asking for advices and help here, here's the thing.
I got out dps'd by a BRD last night on my continuum run, it was an FC run, personally I wouldn't mind if the difference isn't too big but it is, and it's not quite to my liking.
I know they get buffed everytime I use Disembowel or Battle Litany, but it shouldn't be that way, right?
Also for the last boss, I tried ignoring adds to cheat my dps and keep hitting the boss while I leave the adds to him, but I still lost.
I don't truly know what's happening. I don't have any image on dps parse, sorry.
HT is always up, BotD and GK timing is also not a problem. I'm using full i180 gear. I think he is too.
Its probably the difference in uptime and/or a string of lucky Crit Procs for that BRD skill (bloodletter? im not sure). BRD has essentially 100% uptime on DPS while you as DRG have a disadvantage here, even a few seconds of lost uptime means lost Autoattacks, Skill GCDs etc etc.
Also check your movements, when you auto-run (unless controls set to legacy) too much for micro-adjustment movements, you lose autoattacks.
Lastly, check the parser, I know ACT reads from RAM and TCP packets so its DoT detection is quite good, cant say the same for other parsers.
As far as Weapon vs Gear goes it is a very close comparison in my case.
Comparing the stat weights in my current gear set up (I went for the chest over the legs from Normal and the neck is my largest upgrade currently):
Weapon = 1989.317
Legs/Neck = 1986.719
This is about a .18% difference with the weapon ever so slightly in the lead. Considering the Legs and Neck are BiS and the weapon is not, I am highly considering taking the Legs/Neck for the Vit and MDef increases.
Again, this is just how my case worked out so you would have to run the numbers for yourself to see whats best for you.
Well, just did normal faust and I only parsed at around 900mark dps.
Back to training dummy for me.
Surviability wasn't as much of my issue, as much as trying to figure out what would be the stat weight comparisons... in between 180 -> 200 body, in comparison to 190 -> 200 weapon. Tho everyone is stating the increase from 190 -> 200 weapon would be higher damage in comparison.
Body 180 iLv / Body 200 iLv
+78 Str / +93 Str = +15 Str
+78 Vit / +97 Vit = +19 Vit
+69 Acc /+86 Acc = +17 Acc
+46 Det / +60 Crt = +60 Crit/-46 Det
Vs.
Weapon iLv 190 / iLv 200
Dmg 72 / Dmg 74 = +2 Dmg
Str+92 / Str+101 = +9 Str
Vit+94 / Vit+105 = + 11 Vit
Crit+83 / Crit+92 = +9 Crit
SS+58 / SS+64 = +6 SS
So with body being
Body
+6 Str
+60 Crit/-46 Det
+8 Vit
of a increase, everyone has let me know that the extra +2 dmg and SS edges out those stat increases, from going weapon over body first.
dragoon has higher hp than all other dps, you don't need hp that much.
How much people are parsing at the end of A1S? I did 902 on our first kill, I probably could do more if i was really optimizing the deeps there, but i want to know other drg results.
On ps4 so I can only trust others when it comes to parsing but my last A4 I had a 900 dps. One ninja beat me, I got pulled twice from combat and I'm only 178 Drg the ninja was 185. I've yet to use pots and only use food for serious runs.
Dont undesrtand why people dont go for 190 body+200weapon next week.
wasn't uncommon for people to expect alex savage to be pushed just as fast, or even faster than fcob was; so the 5 week pace for alex gear wasn't the best in that situation. in hindsight it looks more attractive now, but it's too late.
This was from last week on our first clear. I forgot to save the parse from this weeks kill, prob a little less than last week cuz we thought it was just a warmup pull

Could you elaborate a little on this skill speed soft cap? Does something gloom 'n doom happen rotation-wise if you go over 652 skill speed? Or is the diminishing returns just severe enough that getting more skill speed past that point isn't worthwhile?
Likely diminishing returns. It also means you're likely crit/det starved.
The good news is, since we get to the sweet spot of skillspeed so easily now at i190, i'm sure by the time we hit the 3.0 ilvl gear cap of like 230 or whatever, we won't need more than maybe 2-3 pieces with skillspeed on them. Then we can load up on det/crit once we're acc capped.
I decided to buy the pants with my esos since they gave me the biggest stat boost. Since weapon is not BiS I decided to wait at least since I have never needed a tome weapon for progression. I figured I would upgrade pieces in order to maintain a 2.39 recast for SS and increase ACC needed for Savage. I have all NM Alex drops and that's why pants made sense since the Alex pants would of been just ACC and SS. Was it a wise choice to make? I think I may go for boots next for the extra 20 ACC then choker and ring to maintain stats.
