Some more ideas/suggestions.
1. 8 man and 24 man FATES. Rift had stuff like that, where you would get an item, and then open up a Rift made for certain groups. It was fun. I imagine this would have to be a hidden FATE, as you wouldn't want everyone zerging it. These would be harder than your normal ones though, so if people did try that, without a coordinated group, they would die.
2. Soft cap on tomes. Not a big deal to me, but apply diminishing returns after your cap of 300. People can still farm more if they want, but it will get harder for them the more they get.
A file check option. I'd much rather be able to have the game scan its files and let me know if there is something that is corrupted than have to uninstall and reinstall the game over one file. Currently I'm dealing with a corrupted something in the game files related to playing in windowed mode that makes it flicker. A file check would long since have rectified this issue than me having to manually change game settings every time I log in or contemplate the long download times of reinstalling the full game. Please please please add a file check option.
I agree with this. Runescape has a good preview of what this could be like for gathering in the Comet and Evil Tree events. For fishing, a giant fish could spawn and it would take multiple fishers to pull it up. This would most likely clutter the map as there are already a ton of FATE's, so an option to filter FATEs by class: fieldcraft, battlecraft, etc could be added. In fact, take a look at Runescape for many different ways FATE's or world events for crafts could be added. Sculpting a statue. Creating armor for NPCs and then a battle or boss FATE spawns where those NPCs run out in their new armor and fight.
It's been suggested before... and I agree that you shouldn't be able to be mounted while talking to NPCs (mammoths in WoW)... but for the love of god auto dismount please!
They had something like that already in 1.0, called Hamlet Defense.

From what people say though they were horribly boring however :( But it is an interesting possibility.
Please give different sitting commands for different seats. I want to sit on top of the bed, not on the edge of the bed. I want to sit on the floor, near the table, or on top on the table, not on the chair. Why do all chairs and beds seem to have a gravity field in this game? I get it it's because then it'd be complicated to sit on them if they required a specific position, but this can be fixed by using different commands!
/sit: you sit on the floor, or on any surface, the same way the character sits on the ground.
/bedsit, /bsit: you sit on the edge of the bed, like we do now when we use /sit near a bed
/chairsit, /csit: you sit on the chair/crate, like we do now when we use /sit near chairs or crates.
Also, if in a second time you could work on giving each race a /crouch and /sit stance as two separate things, that'd be lovely. I'd like to sit on the ground as a male Miqo'te or female Hyur but at the same time I'd like to keep that crouched stance they currently have called /sit. At the same time, I'd like my other characters of different races to get a crouched stance.
And I mean STANCE, as in, an emote that doesn't wear off until it's used again, like /sit. Not a temporary thing like /kneel. I don't get why they didn't make facial emotes like stance either. It'd make everyone happier if they weren't just temporary.
A reason to level chocobo companion. I see no real reason to level my companion besides achievements and a gimped party member. Increase mount speed by 5% or less per companion level.
Give the arcanist class and summoner and scholar jobs the ability to summon two different pets, Like for the summoner job one primal-egi and one carbuncle, for the scholar job one fairy and one carbuncle, then for the arcanist class both carbuncles.
Give the scholar the ability/option to summon the carbuncles.
Please let the tank classes/jobs and the dragoon job to dual wield weapons.
Please give the black mage the spell black hole which is a 11y radius aoe that lasts for 30 sec and a recast of 2-3 min.
Not important, only for the eye I guess...
With the upcoming (FC) houses and the cosy furniture and long meeting tables in mind, I'd like to see more/different sitting animations. Maybe leaning back and crossing arms etc...
Allow us to sell our grand company gear back to the npc we get them from for a small amount of gil or seals.
Increase individual item capacity to 255 instead of 99.
I'd like to be able to re-organize my list of gear sets with simple drag-and-drop.

Give Sanctuary exp bonuses in cities. I'm embarrassed to admit after logging off for almost a week in Ul'dah I was amazed to discover you don't receive rested exp in cities unless you are in an Inn room. That just seems so ludicrous considering you can walk into some pokey village in the arse end of nowhere and receive the same bonus but you can't in a massive city.
How about being able to accept teleport prompts while mounted? We could in 1.0..>
Could also initiate them while mounted back then as well (though doing so naturally dismounted you). I HATE finishing a fate, or being away for just a moment and then missing a teleport offer (and consequently not reaching a FATE in time with how fast they usually end) all because I dared to get on my chocobo for a moment.
Greetings, everyone!
I'd like to share some more UI adjustments and additions we have slated for patch 2.1 and on.
(Keep in mind that this isn't everything! Only what I can share as of right now. :) )
- Patch 2.1
- Focus targeting
We'll be changing the focus target feature so that its display is set at the highest priority and also improving the visibility of the casting bar. At the same time we will also be expanding the areas you can click!
- Teleport window
We'll be making adjustments to the teleport window so that it does not go off the screen (mainly PS3 version). Moving forward we will continue to improve the teleport UI to make it easier to see.- Post-patch 2.1
- Mog letters
We'll be adding a history section for sent letters in the Mog Letter window.
- Gear sets
We'll be adding an icon to equipment that is included in a gear set to make it easier to distinguish.
- Chat window
We'll be making it so you can change the name of a chat log tab without having to delete it.
This has probably already been mentioned, and apologies if it has, but it'd be awesome if there was an option to change the in-game language while in-game. Right now, we have to close it down, then change it in the little drop down box on the launcher. I often switch between Japanese and English, and it is a right pain in the... having to exit the game. I know, a good solution would be to choose one language and stick to it, but... yeah! ;)
Oh please, please consider implementing a map version of the teleport and aethernet UIs. @.@ It would be wonderful!
THANK YOU!Quote:

Really frustrated that there's still no response on chat background transparency, however. The lack of a chat background adjuster is literally giving me headaches when playing the game. Think of your visually impaired players, please.
Allow us to place our GC rank on our clothes/armor much like how we can put our FC logo on our clothes/armor.
A few crafting related suggestions:
A search box on the log so I can type in the partial or full name of item I want to make.
Being able to switch crafting classes without closing the crafting log.
An option in the settings to auto-use hq materials where there are no or insufficient nq equivalents in my inventory but I have hq ones.
Not 100% sure if this has been mentioned already but, I play on a 32" LED computer monitor as well as a 50" LEDTV on the same PC (I sit in bed late at night to play on my 50" and during the day I play on my 32") I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature to have Schemes or Quick Change settings for UI? When i swap to the bigger TV I have to goto the HUD Settings and click each widget and make them bigger, and then undo all those changes when I swap back to the smaller TV. Having a fast and easy way to change the HUD would make things a lot easier.
Thank you and keep up the amazing work!

After suggesting this feature from the Alpha in Nov/Dec 2012 and during every beta phase multiple times, it took until over a month after launch to get a response...le sigh
Basically another "working as intended", "no plans to change" {anytime soon} based on the response. Seems SE would rather work on adding even more features instead of fixing the borked ones right now:
Its complete BS! A transparency slider could be programmed and hotfixed in within a day, but nope, they'd rather ignore our pleas and make our eyes suffer ever more for who knows how many more months~!
DOL/DOH logs. I think the Gathering, Crafting and Fishing Logs need some intelligent cross referencing.
1. Can we improve the Gathering Log so that when you click on an item it will also show what recipes it is used in if any. (Unlocked automatically or filled in through playing the game, either way, needs some added functionality...)
2. Can we improve the Crafting Log so that:
a) we can click to see where items can be gathered (at the moment we have to manually trawl through the gathering log)
b) if a recipe uses an item that is crafted too (eg leather) allow us to click on the ingredient to breakdown that item's recipe too (at the moment again we are trawling manually)
c) if the item is farmed from mobs, really there should be a cross referencing to a separate Beastiary Log stating what mob it comes from and setting out what zones that mob can be found in (this should be filled in through playing the game though, give players a reason to adventure outside of FATE/dungeon)
Has there been any official word of the implementation of this feature for PS3?
Healers in particular are at a huge disadvantage between the absence of both this features and /mouseover macros. The latter I can understand, but the former would appear to be a pretty easy fix.
Can we please have an option for a tanking mode enemy list? The way it works right now is:
square red: this is good for the tank, bad for everyone else
up triangle orange: you're about to steal aggro from the tank (for tank: you've already lost the attention of the mobs)
down triangle yellow: you have some aggro but pretty safe for the most part (for tank: you've already lost the attention of the mobs)
cicle blue/teal: you have minimal aggro (for tank: are you even trying?)
Right now the enemy list is only useful for tanks...AFTER you've lost aggro. It should be at least like (for tanks):
square red: you have a major thread lead, good for you (you have a full enmity bar, everyone else is below 30%)
up triangle orange: you still have a solid lead but careful now (you have a full enmity bar, but someone is past 50% on the threat list)
down triangle yellow: someone in the party is about to steal aggro from you, needs attention! (you have a full enmity bar, but someone is past 75%)
circle blue/teal: you have lost aggro, do something to this monster NOW!
Right now, the only way to check for an individual mob's threat list to the party is by targetting it. But the game has allowed keyboard tanks to mouse over enmity combo to spread out his enmity combo and controller tanks can do something similar by sub targeting for expedient multi-target enmity generation outside of AOEs. As far as I'm aware, these do not allow the tank to see individual threats. The enemy list should cater for the tanks more than the other roles for threat lost prevention imho.
I would like to see an optional config of the above in the character configuration: "Switch to tanking mode enemy list when you are on a tank class" (default: off?)
(Gear sets
We'll be adding an icon to equipment that is included in a gear set to make it easier to distinguish)
Thank you!
Options. That's what I want.
I'm sick of spamming FATEs over and over again, because it's really hard to get a dungeon due to nobody running them. Leve's are horribly inefficient and quests are finite.
I know you're planning to add daily quests, but please make Leve's provide a bigger EXP boost, and make dungeons on par with (if not better) than FATEs.
You don't need 4 people committed to completing a FATE, so it would make more sense that you do them as filler content (when exploring, waiting on a dungeon, doing Leve's etc).
Basically, doing the same thing over and over again is boring. Give me viable options.
I can't check right now because maintenance is about to begin and I already logged out, but I know I saw a language option somewhere in the settings menu inside the game (not sure if it was Character or System settings). Where in theory you can change the language to whichever you want. I say theory because although I saw it I didn't actually tried it.
Is it possible to integrate the "Recommended" with Gathering/Crafting? Some small window we can keep on hand for people who like it. Just so we wont have to surf through menus to find out where a particular material is.
Also....UI loadouts for those of us who level all our jobs. having seperate UI for different classes would really help!
PS. Forgive me if these have been suggested already. Its just i don't want to look through 100+ pages xD
A little window which appears after loging in, showing what items your retainer sold while you were offline.
(Just like the window that shows you all the quests you didn't do yet)
Can I suggest that someone go through all the quest dialogue and fix the frequent use of the grammatically incorrect phrase "must needs"? I think the correct phrase in almost all of them is the infinitive "needs to", but not sure. It drives my slightly OCD mind nuts every time I see it.
