Suggestion: Chat Background Transparency

I brought this up in every beta I could and we still don't have it, so I'm going to do it again on the official forums.

We need a slider to adjust the transparency of the chat box background. I'm sure I'm not the only player with poor vision, and as the chat system is now, I cannot easily read things unless I am in a very dark location. I have played with the colors, and I've even upped the font size to 20, but none of this makes chat readily readable against the busy, constantly changing background you can see through the chat box.

Please, Squeenix. Being unable to read FC and LS chat without giving myself eyestrain is seriously affecting my gaming experience for the worse. Implement a slider to adjust the transparency of the chat box background, for the love of all that is holy and/or unholy.

I agree with this 100%. There should be an option to make the chat log transparent or opaque so we can read the text easier. Also a window color option would be cool too kind of like how you could make your window color different on past final fantasy titles. But yea, this option would be very useful.

Dear God yes please. I want it to be transparent and alot of people seem to want it opaque, just make it an option. In the dev comments during the beta I know they acknowledged that they had heard this from many players but that they were still "looking into it"

Didnt we have this option in 1.0 too? Anyway, yeah, transparancy slider, I need a solid background, I struggle to read text at times if there is odd terain under my chat box (and if im in a cs I dont have the option of moving the camera)

We did have this option in 1.0. WHY this isn't in 2.0 is beyond me. This lack of chat window log transparency has been seriously hurting my eyes. It needs to be fixed asap please. :/.

Yes, it's at the point where it's giving me horrible headaches and half the time I have no idea what's going on in FC or LS chat because I simply can't read it. @.@ I need a transparency slider.

I feel like some of FC members are feeling disconnected and ignored when I am online. I friggin do not see new msgs when doing a duty. I need solid background.

Has there ever been a dev response to this issue? I know it's not as outwardly game-breaking as a dungeon boss bug or whathaveyou, but this is severely hampering gameplay for me - and possibly many others.

Best thing to do is to keep this thread alive so that it'll get the devs' attention. Because, seriously, for this issue, it can be a game breaker, given how painful it can be to read the chat at times.
