Earlier today I had two groups in a row with '' no memes '' and '' 2 mess ups = replace ''.

Did they leave and give someone else lead as payment for them screwing up?
Ofc not, they were immune and everyone else under the microscope...

I remember this when I was getting my clear in P3S too, the group I tried with before the static I filled in for and finally got my kill was like this too.
It was a BLM leader who was very aggressive and had super high expectations of others.
Same BLM kept screwing up every pull and was the main cause why we didn't get the kill.

Had a run of Dead Ends where an Ultimate wearing Monk forgot he wasn't a tank and died.

Never forget going into Ktisis back in Endwalker.
Healer was a complete prima donna.

SCH, couldn't keep us alive in the very first pull of two groups. Snapped at the tank about not standing in his AoE healing.
Revived and the tank only pulled one group.
Perfectly reasonable, as I see it, because even I wasn't certain the healer was capable of keeping us alive.

So after the group, the Healer gives this little speech about the tank "dodging" his healing. And then bailed on the roulette.

We got another healer shortly after, cleared the rest of the dungeon with zero issues.

This is why endgame raids scare me. I already have these issues in roulettes and I don't know if I could deal with them in voice. I feel like a lot of people don't take me seriously when I bother speaking up anyways even if I'm the only person doing mechs right.

Scholar feels like the DRK of Healers sometimes though. If the Scholar or Tank aren't doing their best then things go can south really, really fast. I had a pally in Dohn Mheg who didn't use any mitis and I could barely keep him alive(funnily enough despite not using rampart and arm's length a single time he somehow was capable of hitting hollowed ground and no I'm not joking, those two were on 0% downtime when I checked later).

About the AoE though(Sacred Soil, which also reduces damage by like 90%), if you're healing and you have one of your AoEs down like WHM's asylum or AST's Earthly Star(Which is massive and pretty hard to leave but tanks try to) then you just yoink them back into it with Rescue. The benefits usually outweigh anything that you might potentially yoink them into.

It was like a celebrity throwing a hissy fit at waiter or something. And then he like deliberately didn't try to heal the tank on the second go round.

It was like "fine, I'm taking my healing and going home"

They would have been better off to just leave the group in silence instead of sticking around and acting like a jerk, but I know that some people don't handle their egos very well.

Tbh people like to shit-talk Tanks, but by far the biggest prima donnas I come across are Healers.
They're almost always the ones who '' uwu '' me and act passive aggressive towards me too and somehow it's never their fault even when it clearly is.
Obviously most Healers are fine it's a small minority.
But DPS tends to just be more overtly toxic if they're like that, they just tend to be more blunt about it.
Healers with attitude problem in my experience tends to be more manipulative about it.

Kolsykol, I'm thinking of returning to P1S/P2S practices and farms for laughs since the chest restriction are over. Hope to come across you! :D

I have never seen 2 dps and a healer all die within 30-40 seconds on the final boss of skalla before. But that boss is a joke to solo as a tank, as a DRK too, so I did.

The more stories I read about the joys of PF the more I'm tempted to hop into a few practice/ "farm" parties for giggles again. Haven't done that in a while and I'm curious if the usual suspects are still at it.

Dun Scaith, as an AST.

• That was the highest amount of rezzing I ever did in first boss.
• Also the highest amount of Rescue usage in a single duty.
• Our PLD tank was one of those tanks who thought Provoke is a core part of their rotation and would repeatedly cleave the raid. Oh God, those vuln cookies… Co-SGE was visibly frustrated throughout the duty.
• Wiped once in Scathach at 2nd time the add spawns. I gave the raid a quick explanation & then we cleared it 2nd time just fine~
• Everytime our PLD tank provoked Diabolos his day is numbered. No cooldown used against Hallowed Camisado + Vuln cookies. Oh well…
• Exited the duty with 6 comms. Feels awesome.

Co-healer dipped out after the second boss, so I was solo healing the remaining fights. I had a decent amount of fun solo healing since everyone was making mistakes nonstop on Azyema. On my sage, I got to use Eukrasian Prognosis, Prognosis, Pepsis, Zoe+ Pneuma, Diagnosis (when I actually ran out of healing abilities for once) more than 5 times, and the usual toolkit. Outside of a person losing their entire HP bar in one go, I usually manage to keep them alive with 500 to 2k HP even through 2-3 stacks of vulnerability. I still had plenty of time to DPS though, so target-swapping Kardion actually came in handy when I needed that bit of extra healing to finish bringing people with 90% hp back to full to make sure they survive with 2 stacks, but wanted to save my addersgall because the next mechanic is coming up and I get more value on the healing that way. It was pretty fun. A shame the amount of healing to DPSing required for one healer to handle can't be the norm in normal 2-healer content. It feels really good to be using the full healing toolkit with this many mistakes.

I like how the word ”Bolide” sends terror to many DF healers.

When I notified that SGE I met in Holminster, their first reaction was to exhaust virtually almost everything in their arsenal to prevent my health from dipping low. Diagnosis spams (Nope, no E.Diagnosis at all) was all they had at that point and I still haven’t even used SB yet—kinda killed the point of boliding eh? Either way, the pull was weathered just fine and we carry on. I could’ve sworn all the panic, frantic button presses was all visible.

Fear not random DF healers. Just 12 more credits, then I’ll stop tanking w/ GNB to swap to DRK. Juuuusssttt 12 more….

Lol felt a bit bad for my co-healer in P4S farm.
They were a Healer main and were tearing my healing to shreds, not in a mean way I think they were genuinely trying to help.
But we were wiping a lot, not because of lack of healing tho but because of mechanics screw-ups from the others in the group.

Healer was getting really annoyed because it was a farm group and I think me not knowing all of the timings and probably overhealing a bit annoyed them too ( I have my buffs small and bellow my health and mana to free up space, don't think I noticed stuff like Panhaima ).
I mean the healing wasn't an issue but I kinda get it was probably obvious I wasn't a Healer main to them xD...
Funnily enough they were the only one to die in the kill pull because they were so tilted at the others they stopped paying attention lol.

It started stressing me out a bit at one point tho because basically everything wrong in their eyes I did was being pointed out which made me constantly think '' if I use this cd here will I get '' scolded '' afterwards? ''.
I can spam Glare and keep the group alive but no I don't know the exact min-max and maybe I used a Medica 2 too many :P.
I'd rather have the HoT top people off tho than risk it when not knowing.

Pay attention to the water and the column (pretty much the 2nd boss from Royal City and 1st boss from Lighthouse) and avoid all aoe.

On darkness phase, if you have an aoe, get out of the safe (light) spot, you're not doing anyone a favor by giving everyone vul stacks.

I really wouldn't bother if you've got it set to a macro with a text countdown or anything like that. It feels counterproductive since it doesn't matter if they heal you up afterwards, the heals won't go to waste as you're invulnerable and you'll just be at higher health when the effect ends(Unless 10s is all you need to finish the pull or boss or whatever). Besides that you can't really use it as a panic button if it's got the countdown on it. Maybe I'm just mean but I don't see the need to give healers a warning for SB.

Living dead though... I mean the moment a healer sees the DRK icon they should be prepared for it but since your healer can actually kill you by healing during it, then it's not a bad idea to have a warning with it.

I don't have a macro set for it since I typically only use it as just another cooldown; except I will always say anything around "I will bolide this pull." to let them know that "It's fine. Let me dip low so I can get the most value out of the cooldown as you take your time deciding what will you do to have my health back at comfy range when that 10s time is up. Oh yeah, I also have Aurora & maybe HoC too if this is lv82+ dungeon to help out.".

I wasn't really clear with my initial post, but what happened was they simply refuse to let me dip low enough before I'm going to bolide. Basically I'm boliding right after they've exhausted all their resources at the moment save their MP for their Diagnosis spams. To some extent this feels like dealing with SB x Benediction meme but to a lesser degree where the GNB pops their bolide right after their WHM's Benediction goes off, except in this case they just don't want to see my health dips low so they're bringing out their big guns too early.

Not anymore though! DRK's Living Dead are now budget Bloodwhetting. DRKs are completely capable of taking care majority bulk of their needed HP recovery & there is no side effect for fully restoring their HP prematurely either. Unless you mean letting the timer falls off before the Walking Dead comes into effect then... yeah >_> RIP.

Oh, I'd just SB anyways if I feel like I need it. I wouldn't really bother trying to force it into being a part of your mitigation rotation, it just feels kind of unnecessary. If you need it, then you pop it, and how your healer reacts probably won't change even if you give them a earlier warning about it.

Yeah I know that LD heals now, but for a while if you had no HP to heal you'd just die. You have to heal your full amount of HP before the timer falls off of WD or you'd die and being healed to the point where you couldn't would get you killed. I didn't know that was changed though.

Edit: This must be irony. I got this GNB in Doma today who warned me they were going to SB. They proceeded to fail to SB as they dashed ahead between the turrets. Their SB was apparently tied to a macro that says that it's been used and they spammed it like crazy but it never proced.

200 Mentor Roulettes later...

-Healer duties were ~90% dungeons (quite a few Qarn Hard, don't recall getting Sastasha Hard/either Pharos/either Gubal/Dusk Vigil/Vault/Fractal Hard/Swallow's Compass/Holminster/Dohn Mheg/Zot/Stigma). Next were EX trials (a few Shiva, a few Great Hunt, a couple Garuda, one Thordan that got noped out of), guildhests, and backfilled alliance raids (lots of Nier). Just a couple normal trials, and can't recall any normal raids or fresh alliance raids. Only particularly long dungeon was a 40-minute Grand Cosmos.
-DPS duties (did maybe ~20) were generally guildhests, EX trials, and normal raids. Only a couple dungeons, including a 40-minute Dead Ends.
-First and only tank duty was another Great Hunt EX where the healer (new and doing it for WT) struggled to get behind the bison and couldn't handle curing the burn DoTs. At the very least, they learned it could be done unsynced instead of queuing through DF.

Although queuing as a healer means you have to move at the tank's pace in a dungeon, you still have more control. Going as a tank puts you at the mercy of the healer, and going as a DPS means the tank and/or healer can struggle. Case in point: power-healing through the Grand Cosmos run resulted in zero wipes, while Dead Ends had five (all prior to Peacekeeper).

It's already been established that EX trials have issues (mentors not knowing which duty to prepare for, mentors being outnumbered or even alone entirely, tanks and healers often being new), but the fact that it takes way too long for replacements to join just further encourages others to leave and requeue. One notable example was getting Great Hunt as a DPS, watching the healer instantly bail, waiting several minutes, rejoining the same instance, trying to switch to healer, and getting put in a dungeon instead.

You're not guaranteed to have sprouts/returners or first-timers, but there tends to be at least one of either. The latter are great for second chance points, though not having the former won't even assure a smooth run (e.g. Dead Ends). If anything, it felt like Trial Roulettes had more first-timers, and that's obviously faster as well.

The invuln doesn't go away after healed anymore.

Was helping a group with P3S and the leader who was playing NIN and had fancy schmancy Ultimate weapons out was acting rly weird.
Clearly didn't understand how tethers work ( aren't tethers in the Ultimates too? ) and kept doing positionals even as the tethers were about to explode, at one point he ran from the other side through the boss and stole a tether right into the stacked group and wiped everyone lol.
That same pull too he almost did the same on the first one the Tanks had good reactions tho and desperately managed to intercept fast enough most of the time but just barely.
Also died from getting clipped by plumes and boss wings.

Acted weird about it the whole time, kept insisting it wasn't their fault and '' I won't take blame for that '' and just kept doing the same thing every pull.
I tried to explain that the tethers are proximity and they could just do the positionals at max melee and they won't steal them and that if they end up on the other side then don't run through the boss like that but nope kept repeating '' I won't take blame for that ''.
It's not about blame xD...
It's about resolving the issue and making sure it doesn't happen again.
Maybe when the whole group is pointing it out too and it's repeatedly causing wipes then take the hint.

I wasn't being madge about it when I was getting lectured in P4S when healing, just take the L and accept help.
I remember this from before too but it has been a weird thing with some people who run around with Ultimate weapons, sometimes they just refuse to accept help and acknowledge that they did anything wrong.
It's like some of them view pugs as so beneath them they have huge ego problems about it.

I need to remember to spam clemency when I need to on PLD. On pulls mostly. :p I pretty much always forget about it, unless I am in a boss fight and the healer dies. I'm the type of PLD that actually lets the healer heal me, and that can be bad sometimes.. Like not too long ago..

It’s also a great aggro generator! ;) I use it -a lot- on dungeons that have a certain portion where the packs aggro you but remains untargetable because chances are the rando healer will almost always slap their Regen(s) before I can hit anything. Ghimlyt Dark & 2nd to last pull in Dead Ends are great moments to flex that big blue healer brain :D

Regen is best used before the end of the pull. As long as the healer walks next to the tank it shouldn't be a problem that they used regen before the tank aggroed the second mob pack. They can swiftcast Holy, use Assylum + PoM and continue mashing Holy. The tank would have had plenty of time to regain lost aggro with AoE-s by the time the AoE stun effect has expired.

Never really thought about using it like that. When a healer puts an early regen on me, I will now typically just preemptively use an aoe ability right as the enemies are going to run past me. Timed right, you can hit them all. If one still does get past, I can also just provoke the straggler.

I am fairly new to PLD, well, I played it on my alt years ago, but most of my tanking experience is with other tanks. This is the only expansion where I actually played it past leveling it, and I didn't even level it until ShB (literally didn't even have the class), so I could get the mount.. Anyway, yeah I will need to keep practicing, because I am going to be playing it for awhile yet.

I admit I'll miss Bene shenanigans on Titania (and some other bosses) a bit. It never failed to get an enraged "ELLLIIII!! I hate you!!!" out of my victims friends.

I agree with you. Although I was referring to the case where rando healer would just slap me one before the pull even started. If any it's just a minor annoyance. I generally would try to catch as much in a single AoE then just run forward as I go down through the enmity table list firing my 20y ranged attack at any stragglers on the back. Besides, their damage taken = more eHP for me :D Naturally most of them would just run to bring the mob to me when we're stopping.

I read this just when I got out from running expert 2nd time for the day to fill in for my friend as an AST---into Smileton. Got paired with a DRK who told me to stop healing them when they use walking dead in 2nd wall pull. Not my fault when I already fired Macrocosmos and placed Earthly Star long before they pop their Walking Dead >_>

I guess instead of the Bene shenanigan, THIS is how we can 'screw' them from now on *cough cough*

Now maybe I am crazy.. but did they change and NERF The Stone Vigil? I haven't done this dungeon in a LONG time, but I swear to God it was different. I really need to start reading patch notes more often or something. Lol!

Y'all. Why is the Mothercrystal trial always pure suffering? D: Is it a Chaos issue or is it like this on other DCs too? Everytime I get it on my RDM main I want to scream because I know people will die every 10 seconds and I will be CONSTANTLY out of MP because I have to Verraise everyone. We only had 1 first timer btw. I just don't get it, it's the easiest trial in EW, people can even practice it with Trust! I desperately need more ways to recover MP on Red Mage, Lucid is always on cooldown. :')

It's definitely different. The fight with the canons was replaced with much more relevant mechanics IMO. They did dial way back on the trash which is unfortunate. That dungeon was the Tank come to Hydaelyn moment because it was so easy to overpull in a few spots and a very pointed reminder to keep you gear up to date (guilty!).

Everytime I get it on my RDM main I want to scream because I know people will die every 10 seconds and I will be CONSTANTLY out of MP because I have to Verraise everyone. We only had 1 first timer btw. I just don't get it, it's the easiest trial in EW, people can even practice it with Trust! I desperately need more ways to recover MP on Red Mage, Lucid is always on cooldown. :')

You're not alone. It's like that on Primal too. (I think all the NA DCs are equally inept.) I've explained the job change mechanics and people are still just -dErP- I stopped tempting fate with Trial roulette because of this.

Endsinger's Aria: Myself (SMN) and a DRK survive the last Fatalism. I pick up a healer and just mash and pray. Beat enrage. People are so ungrateful. :p

The cannons were only ever in the hard version of the dungeon and they're still there(got it in roulette last weekish). It's really easy due to ilvl creep and the fact that it's an optional dungeon. For the boss with the cannons I've seen groups just eat the stun and keep going, ignoring the mechanic completely.

Regular Stone Vigil was a massive noob trap though. You'd almost always run into a sprout healer/tank and they'd overpull/wipe. The first wide open room after around 6ish mobs(and getting hit by fire in the hallway once) was packed with at least 9ish mobs on its own and there wasn't really any way around it. I really think they overnerfed that pull, since it's now 3 mobs in the entire room(it's a big room, 6 would've been fine). Also miss the older versions of the bosses, especially the last one since it takes longer now due to it always becoming invun 4 times to do 4 flight attacks on the part. Think it used to only do that twice before.

As someone that did all of EW outside of Zodiark with trusts, I think the answer would surprise you. Trusts actually make fights easier. Outside of any spread markers you can mindlessly follow the npcs to get through mechanics without having any idea on what you're doing. So then later if you get that duty through roulette, you're usually clueless unless you checked a guide(or you decided to actually look for the cues as you did them with trusts instead of just following the npcs). I had a bit of a learning period after I finished MSQ and started redoing content with actual players.

no, the original Koshchei fight had cannons. you used them to scare off Isgebind from firing off Rime Wreaths while you fight Koshchei.

Four more tank roulettes: 2 Praetorium, 1 Castrum, 1 Porta. No, MSQ Roulette wasn't checked by mistake. Dunno what formula is being used there but it's pretty bad.

Managed to DPS backfill another mostly-over Labyrinth though.

Just got that and had four wipes because two people simply wouldn't use the cannons at all. That fight likely won't be adjusted either since the dungeon is optional.
