Isn't the dead ends ilvl synced anyways? Pretty sure it syncs to i570 at most. If you're above 570 then you're absolutely fine.

Besides that DRKs tend to be a bit high maintenance and you feel it if they aren't using their mitigation more than other tanks. Even if they do pop TBN as frequently as possible though, they tend to need more heals and attention, especially if your DPS slacks off. If the pull takes too long to clear then it will be very, very rough.

(Insults are cute, when there's the ability to actually gauge someone's skill. :rolleyes: )

Yep. I ran it on DRK again today for comparison's sake with a healer friend. I dipped here and there, but not nearly as bad as the other player.

I've covered all the roles and can pick up on things that other people need tools for. DPS probably could've been a little better on the run i originally mentioned, but that's not where the problem was. It wasn't with me either. I've maintained all sorts of tanks, including a DRK that blew all his MP on offense even though I tried to tell them about TBN.

To that random SCH I was paired with in EW 6.1 dungeon 8 minutes ago...

I promise you I wasn't boliding to spite you. I manually typed "boliding this one" to warn you ahead of time that I'm going to drop dangerously low in health in said pull, because we got a pair of excessively chatterbox mentor DNC and newcomer RPR who consistently stays lower than you in enmity order list from either "I'm focusing the morbol lol" or outright not doing anything because you can't type 1 full paragraph without dropping whatever you're doing in combat.

Like, I get it. As an outgoing introvert, I like to join in conversation when the mood is right when there isn't anything to do (i.e. auto running to next pack). But rather than dragging the pulls, how about we deal with the pull because that SCH was giving her everything (albeit inefficiently) to handle the lengthy pull? Normally bolide wasn't even needed at all in this dungeon, but I had to because we were both stretching our resources thin.

I can't remember the second Healer saying anything, tbh I am not the type of person to get really hung up on failure unless it's a kill group for the first time and people are blatantly lying and trying to get carried.
That's when I have very little patience especially after spending whole weeks repeatedly trying to get a kill before and then having ppl join when they can't get past the first phase.

Reason why the case in question upset me was because I was being blamed for the failure when it wasn't my fault.
I've never healed P4S past Act 3 so I dunno how intense it is at the end, but I felt like it was a shielding issue for the most part at least.
Because I never saw any shields coming out and it was the SCH that was blaming me.

Skipping the story and asking people not to play under the influence. Bad things happen. People's time is wasted.

Not sure about that one tbh, but unless I am mistaken it does against the recurring big casted AoE at least.
If what you're saying is true tho then that makes the SCH's complaint even sillier rofl.

But yeah sometimes I wonder if target debuffs on bosses work when it's things like tethers or towers exploding.

No wait, I was wrong. I remembered it incorrectly. Reviewed resources of my logs, when tether breaks the damage source is Hesperos 14 or some other number but if Addle or Feint was applied on Hesperos, the damage of Hemitheos's Dark IV was reduced. My bad sorry.

But still, not a reason for SCH to behave like that. Logs are for log runs. Reclears are for gear.

A suggestion re: the final boss of Aglaia. I know it goes against every bit of muscle memory and everything you've ever learned as a tank in the past, but tank him facing south. He faces himself south so often for so many mechanics, that trying to tank him north is essentially spinning him constantly.

Oh okay xD, tbh I wish it was a bit more clear without logs when the damage is reduced.
Like maybe it could say '' -10% '' on the side or something, same with what type of damage it is magical or physical if they had different colors.

Finally getting the level 70 raids done. Took an hour for the first one to queue(as heals, not sure if dps is better even if there's 5 slots), but at least it popped. Even got through the second run but...

My co-heal died like 10+ times the entire time. Pretty sure they were res'd like 8 times in the final fight alone. Also I got rescue yoinked into a vortex of death at the last moment. Would've been a deathless run(personal) if they hadn't done that so I'm salty. I don't know if co-heal did it on purpose or not...

Edit: Orbonne Monastery destroyed me. Someone needs to post for me here because I'm not a fan of the weird obscure mechanics in there.

Entered a Dead Ends after months... I was WHM, the Job I main in Savage. Was an absolute numbskull. Sorry, tank. Not sure why the health was slipping so quickly and was unmanageable. Probably WAR/PLD healing has me spoilt.

More on my first run through the game as Healer, currently in HW. Did my roulette on WHM today, rolled Stone Vigil, immediately noticed the Tank was a Gladiator (didn't say anything, no DPS said anything so I figured they might be together or something) first pack I notice RPR is taking aggro and so am I, so I heal through it, anyways, we get to the first boss, still taking regular aggro even though he has Iron Will up. We hit the next pack and finally the RPR asks the Tank "are you using your AoE?" and I reply with "He has no Job Stone" to which the DPS are both obviously shocked, and hadn't noticed lol. Tank continues to single target mobs, and admits he hasn't played in 2 years and can't remember his combo's. So long story short, I healed through a Stone Vigil with a Jobless Tank who had no AoE usage, and nobody died.

Oh and he somehow accidentally clicked OFF his iron Will for the final boss.. my heals were pressured, couldn't really DPS much, but we made it through, somehow. I feel I need to brag, cause I always think I'm a mediocre Healer at best lol.

I'm not seriously angry at the Tank, but I wish I had the confidence to jump on the game after 2 years, immediately queue up a roulette as Tank and just fumble my way through without checking my gear, job quests, or even my skill bar and abilities.

Are you asking what the mechs are? Its not totally clear. But i do love Orbonne, so i can drop a bit of knowledge. If not for you, then maybe for someone else reading.

First Boss: His "tricky" move is sniping. You need to note which direction he is sniping from, and you need to look at your debuff. The name is confusing, but that doesnt matter if you know what to do(or read the debuff itself). It highlights one of your 4 sides. Turn THAT side toward the boss. You will take 90ish% damage(pointing any of the other 3 at him is death), and continue the fight. When he uses repair he either repairs some bombs in the arena(any highlighted will detonate over their quadrant), repairs some of the robots at the edge(those highlighted attack in a straight line accross), or both.

Second Boss: The move that seems to trick people is the shield. When she spawns shields you should usually grab one(one version of the mech lets some people skip, but if you always do the shield you never get hit). This gives you a duty action, and she follows up with an attack. Using the action puts you in a shield pose. The "trick" is that you need to point the shield at her to be protected from the attack.

Third Boss: He starts with dropping the party to 1hp and giving them doom(healers top off party to clear). For his sword attacks you need to look at how he's holding the swords(all 3 have the same name). Pointing at a circle is an attack on that circle, held upwards at an angle is point blank aoe(get away), sticking into the ground is a donut aoe(get close). Duskblade you need 3 people in each circle(tanks/heals left, dps right used to be popular). Shadowblade you want to drop the puddles at the very back of your circles so they wont overlap. For crushwolf one of your circles will spawn an add in the back, kill it to avoid explosion. Crush weapon will target one player and they will be the center of a series of high-speed attacks - run away from the party until they stop. Tank-buster is crush helm(if the healer esuna's the debuff before the attack actually happens its a much weaker hit). And finally crush armor is the tether. Each hit applies a slashing vuln so a team member(not the tank) grabs the tether and pulls it to the side. After taking one hit, the next team mate should grab the tether to take the next hit(and so on). I think it hits 5 times.

Fourth Boss: I honestly dont remember any moves that "trick" people here.

If there was something i skipped that you remember being an issue, name/describe it and im sure someone will know the move.

She drops those giant crystals which are + aoes and she can shift them before they go off. The fight in general is also very chaotic.

Ultima's worst mechanic is the "maze" segment where you have to dodge AoEs, moving adds dropping more AoEs, and still make it back into her hitbox before the moving wall of doom reaches you. Oh, and until you're back up close, you're pacified and can't cast anything, not even defensive skills or sprint. It's annoying and breaks the flow of the fight.

Otherwise there's just a crapload of AoEs everywhere, and catching the divebomb adds for a damage buff. It's not too difficult, it's just constant.

This is very true. Anything beyond lv56 when paired with WAR and lv82+, I can practically do dailies on one hand and typing on mobile discord friend group on another hand.

One thing that I only just realized few weeks ago, the crapload of AoEs (specifically speaking the small but almost instant ones) are aimed randomly close to wherever the untargetable winged mobs. I always slowdown a bit and wait for those to fly past before going on ahead and has never been hit since. It's also my favorite part of encounter. :)

And so it begins, P4S farm only that in reality it's '' plz carry me and my friends '' or '' I've killed it once now I wanna farm ''.

Would be nice. I've definitely been in a few Unreal where people say they've done it every week for retells - but you can tell they've maybe done it twice, but end up on the floor for what feels like 40% of the fight. When it's one, or both, of the healers and you don't have a SMN/RDM...it definitely makes it annoying.

It's absolutely insane how many bards I come across in high level contents who don't seem to know how to use Warden's Paean. They just randomly use it on themselves.

Same with those spamming Peloton mid-fight for whatever reasons.

At least they have it on their hotbar. That's a step up from many people not even having things like Feint, Addle, Warden's Paen, Nature's Minne etc on their hotbar and making a pikachu faced when someone politely asks them to use it for a specific mechanic. I've had people reply with "just heal it/ heal more/ it's just 10%" when someone asked them to please use something for a mechanic that hurt or suggested selfheal when they kept dying to something because they insisted on outranging heals.

But I agree, please read your tooltips. They're not novel-lengths, it's just a few words, please read them.

When you are actually healing, manually raising players, raising players on cd with swiftcast, but apparently I have to have zero MP to not get called out for "not healing". I can UNDERSTAND people saying in that in certain circumstances when I do extremes, but they all were dying because they can't do mechanics not for lack of healing in the first place. God forbid I use thin air when I raise players.

Had someone ragequit my party earlier when I asked them to please press holy or just anything but Cure 1. They told me they couldn't do that because they're a healer, and they don't have time to dps. I explained why holy stunning everything for like.. 7 seconds straight is so good on the tank, and they just left.

can they just delete cure 1 already

Had this happen to me before. Healer would not holy. Insisted I wasn't rotating my cooldowns, when I was, and had the right gear for the job level. They said I took too much damage too fast, and needed to pull slower. So I complied. 1 pack pull, only cure 1. "Can we kick the tank?" - They vote kicked him instead.

It was a level 50 dungeon too, so before tanks get their insane healing and you kinda rely on the healer. just made it more painful. glad it worked out for you though! I've been kicked in situations like that despite telling them exactly how I rotated my cds.

Earlier today I saw a number of PF groups with the description of '' help me kill so I can farm ''.
Like dude... Cmon... Please...
Don't just kill it once then jump to farm groups -_-......

So many groups with Pinax memes, ppl not knowing when to use knockback and getting insta-killed then wiping the group or not baiting the line attacks in Act 3 and killing the group or screwing up at the final phase and blowing up towers too early or not knowing the red tether order in Act 4.
Just over and over and over and over and over and over again.
I dunno what goes through their heads it's a complete lack of respect for other peoples time.

Delete Freecure, have Cure 1 auto-upgrade to Cure 2.

So reading that story made me remember a run I had two weeks ago I had in that lvl 90 dgn Robot-Sphere boss at the end (forgot dgn name) with drk, me as rpr, sch and forgot the other dps (might've been smn). So we go through the first w2w pull and I get aggro but like from only 2 mobs and I think nothing of it. In fact, I figure I might've smacked some too hard in transit so I just do the proper thing and stick to tank cuz I know he'll grab it, which he does. Then we do another w2w, same thing happens, I'm on tank, he picks them up, rinse and repeat. Then we get to first boss, clear that then move on to next w2w pull.

This time, however, I snag all aggro from the first pack, even though tank was 2 secs ahead of me. I do a double take because there's no way I should've grabbed aggro first if tank ran through the pack first. I look at party bar and I see he tank stance on. I'm still holding onto the aggro until the next pack, to which then everything gets grabbed by the tank. It's at that point I have a suspicion of what was happening but I decided to wait for next w2w pull.

For that one, I'm right behind the tank by 1 sec but this time, I decide to not smack anything in transit and just watch the drk does...aaaand suspicion confirmed: dude was just simply running through the mobs without any aoe. He would only do so after getting all the mob packs, then aoe, which explained why I would always get aggro. So I just type: "My dude, you actually have to use unleash to smack all the mobs to keep aggro when you're running through the packs."

Luckily for me, he actually does this for the remainder of the run. We get to final boss, sch /comforts me, to which I chuckle to, we clear boss with no issues and I give my com to tank for actually listening.

Then I ask myself how long this tank had been doing this kind of w2w pulling until I pointed it out and no one might have noticed or said anything until that point.

Luckily some of those pre-50 dungeons can be tanked by the healer if it really got bad...but DPS would have to be super horrible for the Healer to heal aggro.

So I've been running one my alts from the beginning of HW thru EW. I just hit 5.2 on her. Now my go to class has been DNC since it dropped but for whatever reason I decided on SMN for this one. (Dear Yoshi-P please give me both EW SMN and ShB SMN, kthxbai).

A couple days ago I hit Dying Gasp. I do the "sprout" thing and watch the intro and pre-boss CS (it's been awhile anyway). One of the mentors joked about being 3 runs away and having to do a "hard" trial. When I did this Day 1 it was rough. Heck the first one I did ended in a disband. This time? Nailed it. Honestly had some really great groups throughout.

And then comes The Grand Cosmos. I love this one. I've run it dozens of times when it was part of Expert Roulette so I knew it well. Zone it, do the "sprout" thing again. Aaaand the tank is too. Except they're a bona fide sprout. Aaand so is everybody else. The poor dragoon ate every mechanic. To be fair I'm a bit rusty and got tagged by the brooms a few times. We manage to bull through until the final boss.

Back in the day Lugus was a PUG killer. He still hurts. After the 2nd wipe I explain most of the mechanics (If you're burning blue go set some furniture or drapes on fire) which helped tons. Had to scrape the healer off the floor a few times. Dragoon still kept eating mechs so we left him on the floor (the healer was OoM and the boss had a sliver of health so, YOLO)

No comms. Not one. (I'm far more amused than salty)

I'm... not sure what I walked into today. OFC it was as BLM.

I saw that the Leveling Roulette had Adv. in Need for DD, so I queued right in. I noticed that it verified that only 1 player was ready to enter - meaning I was going to be put into a Duty in Progress. Sure enough, it was Vanaspati. Right at the start of the dungeon, too. There were two people present: a DRK, and a SAM DD who had the Mentor of Mentors title (but no crown). I typed up a "xD, people left at Vanaspati pop?" thinking that one person had first exited seeing what dungeon it was, and then the other had followed suit. I got no answer... but two minutes later...

Anyway, it was already 70 minutes into the instance, and the SAM left after a long wait yielded no result. Me and the DRK silently emoted at each other, waiting patiently until finally one NIN joined. I /clap at them, they /cheer back but that was it. Strangely... the DRK then asked in French: are you searching for a [free] company? I wasn't sure who they were talking to so I stayed quiet, and the NIN didn't reply either. We finally had an AST queue in. Oh, did I mention both the AST and NIN were Mentors? Clearly the only people that had gotten to get into this Duty in Progress were warm bodies tossed into our empty dungeon from the Mentor Roulette.

Anyway, we begin. And... the DRK was single targeting. Not just single pulling, mind you. How do I know this? Well, I kept catching aggro from my Flares pretty quickly. The DRK didn't even Provoke, finally start AoEing, or do literally anything to salvage the situation. I wanted to already scream, but IDK how the AST kept us all up. I was pretty much tanking the entire time with Manaward always on CD. I became genuinely curious what they do on bosses, and OFC they were messing up on the first one almost all the time. Saw no defensives the entire fight, either.

Everything was pitch silent, until I finally cracked at a pack and typed "where AoE". Nothing. I didn't even want to switch to single targeting because I'm sure that if I did that, this dungeon would have actually timed out. I once saw Trick Attack debuff on one enemy while damaging, and realized the NIN was STing as well at this point. It was agonizing, and full hats off to the AST for their patience and ability to heal a squishy DD up. They even had the sense to Rescue me when I was about to run off out of their range while kiting.

Last boss somehow had only the NIN dying a couple times. Can't fathom how the DRK was managing mechanics - I was too preoccupied to deal with my own to track him. I did see a Shadow Wall buff on them at one time so perhaps they'd finally pulled themselves together? Or, they were using their defensives as an emergency? I don't know.

At least it leveled my BLM to 90, gaining me the Magic's Horizon title.

Last attempt where I lost my patience with the recent one was attempt 8 or something, and the GNB Tank was literally running in a circle on the blue shackles mark.
Always had excuses for why the screw up, Discord messages/ warnings, some1 speaking to them irl, '' forgot '', my dog ate my homework.
And DNC every pull standing around mid all confused until last sec where they ran into whatever spot was empty ( prob didn't know what to do either ) and me having to constantly Rescue BLM or the other Healer out of getting damage down from the prison cells.
People not being in their intemp lanes etc etc...

I legit don't understand how it can be so bad, I rly want to know what goes through peoples heads when these people join farm groups.
I unironically had a better time with a kill group I helped out in P3S and P4S, they were better than like at least 8 out of 10 people I play with in farm groups.

Why is it always the baddies that decide that they know best? Watched this alliance tank sit there telling off other tanks for spinning the boss before they proceed to spin the boss themselves, killing a handful of people because they ignored a simple mechanic and had to run to a cleanse pad. The entire raid they used only a handful of mitigations which was ridiculous.

I swear it's very, very rare that I see people that know what they're doing get aggressive or take a bossy attitude towards the rest of the group.
