I thought direct chat was the option you had to enable and it was disabled by default? It's been a long time before I've played on a fresh install of the game.

Litterally any button on your keyboard works, not just left click.
I think if more people knew this then there wouldnt be so much of a problem with it.
The game has confidence in you to spam a button for 10~ seconds at this point, hundreds of hours in. If we complain about even that, SE is just going to go back to handholding us again in MSQ stuff.
A couple of decades ago, games for the disabled people were impossible, but the world does not stand still. The more people with disabilities are integrated into our society, the healthier this society is. I'm sorry you don't understand such things.
Many of these people face difficulties and are forced to overcome something, not because they want to be heroes and not because they like to overcome, but because there is no opportunity and tools (yet) to do it in the usual and comfortable way.
Fortunately, most people think differently than you, so now there are bionic limbs, metro stations with special lifts, and so on. If you do not change and adapt the world for people with disabilities, you can lose this world.
There is a guy who plays with his face, there is a person who draws with his mouth, there is ... There are many people who, for lack of opportunities and funds, are forced to adapt. And I'm really sorry to hear about such circumstances.
I have one question. Why should we "play with the face" if the developers can just change one, not so important, part of the mechanics.
I feel like the best thing to do would be to just make it so as long as a certain minimum number of players succeed at the QTE (Like maybe six out of eight or something) everyone survives because having a party wipe mechanic where there's no way of telling who's actually messing it up is just a recipe for frustration and hostility in a group of random players.
It would also be more fair to the odd few people who may be physically incapable of what the QTE demands due to disability, injury, etc, and prevents others from trolling by deliberately failing the mechanic just so they can see others fuss and fume.
If there was a way to tell who messed up it would be even worse. Even more hostility towards that person. We don't want that either, because you never know why they keep failing and whether it's something they can help or not
When people die you can also tell who failed. But if the rest of the party is allowed to continue, then it wouldn't be that bad. Because then the one who failed wouldn't cause a wipe.
Yea I had to disable it on mine. TBF I never really paid attention since I have been using the controller for the past almost 7 years. So its possible I may have enabled years ago lol
but if you see the werwerwer pop up in party chat, they direct chat enabled and they need to disable it to use other keys.
