Didn't matter who was in charge at launch it was doomed to fail regardless who it was. Tanaka may very well would have been the lesser evil. Plus he had experience from XI to bring. Yoshida not so much.

People have. Only to be shot down because too complex, would change the meta, job A preferred over job B, wait for expansion, take a break, etc.

Really? I never had an issue in 1.x with class stacking or leaving out other jobs..or balance. Like I said, I've cleared everything with one of each job in 1.x easily..from sr5c, to skirmish, to Garuda HM/extreme to Ifrit HM/extreme for relic. And if need be I can dig up videos of this. Just because everyone flocks to one set up does NOT mean its the only way. Quite a lot of JP also used one of each job in 1.x. I had 0 issues with job balance in 1.x.

Anyway, XIV has plenty of balance issues and job issues right now. Everything feels like a DPS that can do something else. I see people refusing to bring certain tank classes to content. Also I remember in 2.x when farming for relic the PF would require only BLM/BRD..and spam Brayflox over and over and over...meanwhile, my friends and I did it easily and faster with other jobs.

No one here is asking for a carbon copy of FFXI with its flaws, I am so tired of seeing this hyperbole. That is silly. From what I've seen folks in here asking they want more interesting content, interesting stats/abilities perhaps, and better rewards with LONGEVITY. Others would like to good systems and fun parts of XI brought to the game. Where are you getting it from where people are saying they want Job imbalance? Lol and anyway EVERY game has that..and at this point I rather deal with some (XIV is already dealing with quite a LOT of that) then a flat, dull system.

Again, why is it acceptable to mention and demand things from WoW, but when wanting a FEW FUN THINGS FROM FFXI...well..then its pitchfork time lol.

And the fact of how people cannot play their job in XIV...well, that is is any MMORPG I have played and I have played quite a lot. In Aion, FFXI, Ether Saga, RO, Lineage II, all these games I've played I have come across really , really bad players...just because they cannot grasp the game does not mean it has to be dumbed down to the point an ape can do it...and tbqh, that is how simple FFXIV feels to me atm. The rotation is always the same..no depth...

The content rewards are always glamour, minons or some fluff content...not ONCE in my entire time of playing FFXIV did I ever stop and say.."OMG GUYS LOOK AT THIS GUY!!! They have such and such armor/weapon. I AM SO JEALOUS AHHH!!" because nothing is an accomplishment, everyone gets a gold star. Well, I lie..in 1.x I said that about relic weapons before finishing mine lol....shoot, I remember a point where even seeing Garuda weapons was impressive. So yeah...lets stop with the FFXI hate, and saying people wearing those weird glasses or whatever. It has its good points and nothing is ever going to change my mind from that or from suggesting it.

Most people can't grasp due to what again? Oh right, instant gratification. It's got to be newbie friendly otherwise they'll get bored. So we're left with people who don't know what Los Vegas danger zones are or how to press 123 in the right order.

You call for job preferences but even ARR has that to a degree, you just don't realize it. Dungeon spamming? BLM, SCH, WAR. Anything else will slow it down. Can you still accomplish speed runs with other jobs? Certainly, but these jobs are more effective. Raiding? MCH/BRD is a must. People typically call for MCH now due to Hyper charge, but either way. NIN (trick attack). Outside of these two preferred things, it just varies on what you're fighting. Is it impossible to do with other jobs? Not at all. It's just easier. The same could be said about XI and end game. I wouldn't let some elitist dictate the overall state of a game because I'm not fully aware of this job imbalance you speak of tbh.

No one is saying to bring XI's gameplay back. It just had more depth to it than XIV offers. The only challenge being MCH but it's an illusion because it's RNG and it's only that keeping you on your toes.

It's also easy to sit there and call people out on something when you too could also provide an idea. Unless you like the system which is fine, but it doesn't make sense to just call others out just because.

yeah, just because people enjoyed FFXI and want some good of it in this game I guess we get called out on it and apparently wear glasses lol

Because I'm starting to think us Final Fantasy fans are the minority and WoW players jump to this game because it's a WoW clone so all of WoW's subs that it's losing come over here complain that it's not what they expected

WoW this, WoW that but like you said when someone brings up an idea that's been done in FF's other MMO you're seen as having rose tinted glasses because it's out of their comfort zone and doesn't fit the "modern gamer" standard, pretty depressing really. Never "this was neat in FFXI would you guys like it in this game?"

Oh well 'least we've got more minions and /doze poses to look forward to, they're important :')

This game was built around instant gratification because it would have failed otherwise. This is simply the age of gaming we live in, accept it.

I couldn't agree anymore with this. This is partly why Im turned off so easily with this game. All it does is slap FF's lore in the face when it starts changing things that are stapled in the FF universe. In my FC, Im the only Ex-XI Player while everyone else is a Ex-WoW player. Their mindset is completely different from mines on what should be added to this game.
