Some suggestions, mostly quality of life, obvious things

I want a shapeshifting class/job that once you change form you have skills that are unique to that form. Make sure the shapeshifting class/job has a new form every 10 levels then at level 30 you get a hybrid form that you stay in when you have the soulstone equipped.

There's more than one team at SE.. The team that works on character modelling is not the same team that works on server lag. Different teams are working on different issues concurrently. Server issues aren't getting put on hold for hair..

So did the male Miqo'ta. They have like 5 hairstyles it seems and most of them aren't' that different from another. The variety really sucks. The females of all the races have tons of various and different types of choices. I say males in general got shafted.

So.. then what is quality of life to you in terms of real life? When your boss walks up to you to discuss an important deadline and you wish to avoid that conversation; do you slap him to get him to stop talking?

Honestly if hair in real life is considered a quality of life; why can't it not be such in an MMO?

By default, menu navigation is bound to the number pad (num lock on). Num8 is up, Num2 is down, Num0 is select, Num. is cancel, etc.

I dunno if these have been mentioned, I'm not feeling up to browsing nearly 1,000 posts, but here are some things that would make dungeons a bit easier/fun:

1. If the party has engaged the final boss, is fighting the final boss and time runs out, let the party finish the fight, one way or another, instead of just booting them out right there. Give them the chance to finish the fight.

2. Don't consider a dungeon "started" until the first boss is down. That way, if someone leaves in the first 30 seconds, the party isn't condemned to backing out of the instance and reentering the queue (especially if the Tank or Healer leaves) because no one ever uses the little "Join in Progress" Button.

3. Have an option to allow people to run again with the same folks. Everyone I'm sure has gotten that really fun group in the Duty Finder and wants to either run the same instance or a different once with the same people for whatever reason (want to help someone get that one piece of gear, just liked everyone, etc.). Have that option available.

4. For the sake of every man, woman and child who has run, will run or is running Praet and CM, have an option to disable cutscenes in dungeons.

Please make an orb or something similar that absorbs experience points when a player character hits the level cap and continues playing that level cap character, Once it atleast has ten thousand xp in the orb it will allow you to distribute that much xp to one of your lower level classes once every 24 hours.

Shameless plug for my Camp system thread. The idea attempts to adress several systems in the game including a giving endgame dungeons a bit more flavor, giving crafters of consumables a reason to exist in the higher levels (Alchemists and Cooks) and a nice place to gather and read up on some lore the game is sorely lacking in.

Shameless I say!

Black List suggestion: As I add RMT scammers to my blacklist it gets closer and closer to the max. Is there something implemented to remove them from our list when the account gets banned, or to let us know that we can remove them? I do see a few deleted, which means the character was deleted, I assume, but there are still over 100 on my list ranging back to the early days =D If you cannot remove them when they get banned, can you increase our black list capacity from 200 to say.. 500? I literally only put the RMT /tells and /shouts and /yells on it!

You can do this, you just need to go into your character config - > hotbar settings and click the others to "displayed"

Some suggestions, mostly quality of life, obvious things

DoH

Leves for DoH should be like in 1.0 where you did not need to have the materials already just to participate in the given leve. It's a big turn off when trying to level a DoH. Means more money out of your pocket. Yoshi said the game should be fun. The leves right now for DoH, yes give you a lot EXP but can be stressful in having to rely on a player build economy.

Primal Weapons

Take up space when you no longer need them. Not even able to convert them to materia like in 1.0. Soultion return to the system from 1.0 when players were allowed to turn weapon in for seals or convert into materia.

FATE (Console Gaming)

There needs to be a solution for players to participate in fates. Enemies do not even pop on the PS3 in a congested area. This takes away the experience of a game if a player is stressing the fact they have to worry about being able to see an enemy than rather enjoying the game.

I play on 2 pc`s atm and I have a problem With the game not storing settings.
Like when i change pc the hotbars, gearlist and macros etc has to be manually updated. this takes a while. Will there be a import/export soon? Or Security wise etc server stoarage of toons

Agree on many of the other points, but this one is not a translation error, it's valid and just more flavoursome language... I know people who prefer saying that here in the UK.

Suggestion: If /macroicon is being used in a macro, please display the tooltip that the icon represents when hovering over the macro. Alternatively, please add a new command "/macrotooltip [action]" to display the tooltip of the desired action when hovering over the macro. As a healer, I create macros for any action that is cast on another player. It would be very useful for me to be able to reference the tooltip without opening Actions & Traits. Thank you. :)

I'd like to bump this one to see if anything has been said on it. Search function yielded no Dev response. I would like to see a Keyboard mode on the PS3.

I would additionally like to put more hot bars under my cross hot bar like I can on the PC. I can plug a keyboard and mouse to my PS3, is it a PS3 limitation that we cannot have some more UI customization and Full keyboard/mouse support?

I'd like to summon minions in dungeons.

I understand this wouldn't be a top priority hotfix but it would be a nice for the sake of vanity. (:

As silly as it might seem I do wish they were capable of fixing the clipping issue involved with some hats. For example wearing a Vanya Hat and Stardust Rod. Perhaps a slight turn to the rod or something to that effect. I'm sure others might have other ideas on it. It's a minor thing, I'm just sad my hat gets cut through haha

Airship PVP battles. To start, I'm thinking just something that is staged mostly. But have more than 4v4. Make it 24v24 or something like that.

Add in NM that are not apart of FATES. And, add some story content with some type of exclusive guild/group which you can become a part of once you finish a crazy amount of requirements. Thinking like relic X 10, give players something to do. When you're apart of the group, allow them to access a special instanced area, kind of like the guild/group hub with lower teleportation fees or something.

That one was mutliple ideas together, but it seemed to flow.

We understand that there have been quite a few requests to make other chat channels make sounds when you receive messages. The development team has already implemented this feature on the development server and it will be possible to set sounds for party, linkshell, and free company chat individually. You can even set separate sounds for different linkshells!

This feature is slated for implementation in patch 2.1. :D

Thats great and all I suppose, but when will you allow us an option to make the chat background solid black!? There are quite a few environments where the current transparent BG makes its very difficult to read the chat, forcing me to find a dark corner or shadow before I can read what's being said.

I think that GW2 system is amazing, for that.
One click, solid black. Click again, completely transparent and lines disappear quite fast (so you get a cleaner and less clunky interface).

Id like to see the names Minion and Pet swapped. In FFXIV, our minions behave as pets do, and our pets behave as minions do.

Yeah I've been considering going back to GW2 for a few weeks/months{until 2.1}, so many quality of life features already there that we have to absurdly beg SE to implement here is ridiculous! lawl

Yeah, most of the things in this list is just stuff you expect to find already in any new game which has evolved from 1999.

Suggestion #2: Please add support for Microsoft's virtual key codes. I like to set the macro keys (G keys on Logitech/Razer/etc keyboards) to F13-F24 in order to have additional "real" keys. Unfortunately, FFXIV does not recognize them and prevents me from using them as hotkeys. World of Warcraft has been around since 2002 and supports these keys. Some keyboards natively have these keys, especially ones with a Mac layout.

/r currently replies to people from your blacklist who have sent you a tell. I presume that this is unintentional.

gw2 ui is so friendly overall, please SE i don't mind huge game size as long as everything feels friendly and awesome
btw, more suggestion from me

1. swimming, beautiful beach like costa del sol but we cant swim :(, just copy GW2 for swim feature !!
2. un-instanced zone (like wow) except for dungeon ofc.. because atm is just too much loading screen, i wish its possible to see loading screen only when we are teleporting
3. able to see how much we have some item stored in retainer, like if we have 20 bat fang and we store it at retainer then we get another bat fang and we move our cursor to that bat fang, it shows how much we have that item at our retainer
4. automatically use material stored at retainer
5. more macro line
6. add unique and secret things to every zone, i would love having jumping puzzle mixed with some question or ff lore or anything that make us use our brain
7. please MORE MORE monster skin, too much similiar skin and its somehow boring.. atleast make every dungeon boss looks unique (sasthasa just a random sahagin, halatali last boss = DD 2nd boss, Qarn 2nd boss some random usual golem, tamtara last boss = AK 1st boss etc.) i believe SE can make more unique monster skin not just simple recolour

i think thats what bugging me atm, please keep improving!

I'd love to see two little things:

- Move the servers with our characters on them to the top of the list, in both character creation and character selection. I shouldn't have to hunt around for the servers I already have a presence on if it's only 2-3 of them.

- Add a mark of some sort to mail with items still attached, both read and unread. Sometimes items can't be immediately collected (for instance, I just made a new character on an old account and he got 2 phantasia potions, one from being an old account, another with the veteran rewards) and then we've got to hunt through our old mails to find the items we haven't claimed.

Correction, 3 things. I'd also like to see a remnant/receipt like function of items both sent and received via mail. If someone says they've sent me something in a previous mail that I don't remember, I'd like to be able to go back and check to see if it was actually attached or not. As it is, there's no reference made to any attachments once they've been collected unless they're stated by the sender in the message of the mail itself. Likewise, if I've sent something, I'd like to be able to prove it.

While I have found an earlier post about it and Liked it, it seems to have drowned in the thread, so I would like to re-iterate:

- Please make battle music a separate volume slider from other music.

The area music grinds on my nerves after a while, but I enjoy the dramatic feeling of the combat music. On the other hand, I know of quite a few people who enjoy the area music, but find the battle music off-putting. Both sides would be served by giving combat music a separate volume slider.

I like these points. Especially point 2. I feel that due to all the loading in between zones, you don't feel like you're in a large world at all.
What makes this even worse is the fact that these loading screens often skip entire parts in between zones.

For example, there's an exit in Limsa Lominsa where you see a bridge in front of you. Yet when you go through the dotted line indicating the end of the zone, you get a loading screen and all of a sudden you are standing at the other site of the bridge. What? Why can't I cross that bridge? I want to actually walk on it.

We need to be able to mail to our own alts, you know, the ones we are paying for. Or else an account retainer per server. In a modern mmorpg, actually in ANY mmorpg, this is an unbelieveable restriction.

well I will stand corrected, I have never heard anyone say that at all, I didn't realize it was a English expression never heard it ever, till this game.

I agree with many of the items listed at the beginning of this forum. Some additional thoughts I had were:

1) Alert players when people on their friends list log on. (Like the system in place in World of Warcraft) I never realized how useful this system was until I lost it.

2) Allow players the option to turn off the autoscroll in the chat system. (I’m not sure if this is the same as the “Lock Chat” option recommend in the original forum post.) Hopefully if this is added it is set up so if chat is scrolled down all the way, autoscroll will be enabled, else it doesn’t auto scroll. I would settle for a disable of the autoscrolling of chat though.

I can’t think of any other issues relevant to this forum at the moment. One thing, although a little off topic, is I implore the developer’s to keep addon support high on their list of things to roll out. A lot of user interface issues could potentially be solved with the addition of addon support.

what about better proc(example: thundercloud) and dot tracking?
